- Roxy Music is an English art rock band formed in 1971 by Bryan Ferry, who became the group's lead vocalist and chief songwriter, and bassist Graham Simpson. The other members are Phil Manzanera (guitar), Andy Mackay (saxophone and oboe) and Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). Former members include Brian Eno (synthesiser and "treatments"), and Eddie Jobson (synthesiser and violin). Although the band took a break from group activities in 1976 and again in 1983, they reunited for a concert tour in 2001, and have toured together intermittently since that time. Despite a 18-year gap between activity Roxy Music never officially split up. Ferry frequently enlisted many Roxy members as session musicians for his solo releases.
:: Dance Away ::
Yesterday, when it seemed so cool,
When I walked you home, kiss goodnight,
I said "it's love", you said "alright".
Its funny how, I could never cry,
Until tonight, when you pass by,
Hand-in-Hand with another guy,
You're dressed to kill, and guess whos dying...
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, tears.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, fears.
Dance away...
Loneliness, is a crowded room,
Full of open hearts, turned to stone.
All together, all alone.
All at once, my whole world had changed.
Now I'm in the dark, off the wall,
Lit the strobe light up the wall.
I close my eyes, and dance til dawn.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, tears.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, fears.
Dance away...
Dance away...
Dance away...
Now I know, I must walk the line
Until i find an open door,
Off the street or onto the floor.
There was I, many times a fool,
I hoped and prayed, but not too much,
Out of reach is out of touch,
All the way is far enough.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, tears.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, fears.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, tears.
Dance away the heartache,
Dance away, fears. Видеоклипы
I love Roxy music & Bryan Ferry because it makes me happy & sad at the same time, music that makes me feel is what I like
Abba presenting Roxy Music ? wonderful
One time my wife's sister's common law husband accused her stealing his ABBA CD ! That's an insult to my musical taste . Love Bowie , Ferry , Depeche Mode , Marianne Faithful.......but ABBA ? 😱😱😱 It was his fucking teenage son from Ukraine !🤣🤣🤣
Only Bryan Ferry could sing such beautiful songs. Such a distinct Voice !! Roxy Music, great music, great memories. I’m so happy to have their music to always listen to!
just amazing🥹❤️🔥
First Roxy Music song I ever heard. Definitely fell in love.
I’ve always loved this song.
Thanks for the post! I attended msg nyc sept 12 2022 and roxy music was great! I love dance away!
Gary Tibbs on bass who went on to join Adam and the Ants
Still beautiful after all these years...ROXYY MUSIC❤
Impressive. Maybe glamour over the top...always Roxy Music
Great song. And you don't have to be formal, but it is so nice to see a band that doesn't look like they live at a homeless camp.
oh i agree with you - brian ferry with a nice dress - so charming man really.
Don't why it matters :)
He could dress in a mechanics overalls and perform like he does, and it would still be great as hell :)
My first love Mark turned me on to this group a million years ago.
Mama Mia ! Dance away Bryan ...!
Great crooning..lounge lizard slash genius....defined early 80's cool....Bryan Ferry...Roxy Music...just the best. Roy Orbison meets Johnny Mathis.

------------- It's funny how I could never lie....until tonight....
Sounds just like the record....
just coincidence
@** no shit
Uhh, cuz all tv shows were still lip-synched then?
lovely description of loliness yet I found to get out of that prison I once was in - such a lovely freedom
Such a shame bands used to mime so much back in the day - it is genuinely hard to find live versions of many older songs
This version is mostly mimed - the castinets and percussion heard are nowhere to be seen. Both Dave Skinner and Gary Tibbs were capable of backup vocals, but not quite as polished as what we hear in this clip!
Paul Thompson doesn't seem to enjoy miming a drum part originally played by somebody else!
Thought this was the song with the line " out of reach is out of touch"
It is.
