Awesome collection, its great to see such a big fan of the Goemon series. Goemon deserves so much more love in the West, it should have been popular but it just came out a little too early here, right before anime and Japanese stuff took off.

So I have also been looking for that board game for a good while. Just recently purchased it and it is missing the manual. Also, mine seems to have red bridges instead of green. Impressive and inspiring collection! I recently just took notice of this series. I'm kind of aware of its existence but didn't really pay attention to it. Plan to collect for it, as well, but maybe just select releases. I'm starting with the exclusive GBC one and lucky to have found the same package as the one you have online.

Try Mameda Bakeru for the switch! It released some months ago and is a love letter to Goemon! Not exactly the same game as Goemon but it's pretty good!
Loved this series as a kid. Albeit only played legend of the mystical ninja. Though I do strongly agree konami does need to bring him back. Albeit I did remember a tweet from Konami saying they would love to see Goemon fight in smash bros. That and I do believe his creator Tak Fuji was it? He also wanted to see goemon in smash bros as well. Besides seeing Goemon possibly I would love to see Squall from ff8. They were my childhood. Thanks for interesting video brother
Thank you for watching--I'm hoping for some more Goemon in games, preferably as the star, but it's a damn shame that Konami's involved in the new Smash Bros. game and Goemon is still MIA. Tak Fujii has been around Konami since the 90s, and he's probably worked on a few Goemon titles in some capacity, but all I really know him from is that amazing Konami press conference a few years back...and that he was in charge of the team that worked on Gal Metal on Switch.

I have seen surveys from Japan and no surprise Goemon has a huge fan base behind him. I am sure he'll make it, then I would have one more character that directly impacted my childhood. Richter, Snake, were awesome to me on the psp as a kid. Heh maybe the Pyramid heads should come in after Goemon. Though honestly I never grew with a Nintendo system or their games. So most of the roster doesn't directly connect to my childhood. I haven't actually played a Nintendo game until my later teens in high school. Though my exceptions were mystical ninja and Castlevania going to a community center and borrowing a game or two. Though yeah I hope he gets in and has more games in the future

I do love mystical ninja and its good to know that it had a cod schedule for a while there... i hope i can play some of those games one way or another (by the looks of it, it is leaning more toward the another).

Thanks so much for watching, the Goemon series is so great, it really is a shame and a mystery why so much of it was kept in Japan. The game you ask about is Ooedo Daikaiten for the PS1, which I actually did a video on earlier this year. Fun game with a neat/cheap gimmick!
I got the Goemon's Great Adventure soundtrack CD recently, and had the Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon one from almost a decade ago. You can definitely find them complete for under $1000, but nowadays $500 is considered a steal for the n64 Goemon OSTs haha. The Goemon soundtracks have always been pricy to obtain but soundtrack collecting in general is a pricy hobby. A lot of the times the CDs had very low print runs. Also be aware that there are counterfeits in circulation of the Goemon's Great Adventure OST.

Is the single in question something that was released alongside the full soundtrack CD or was it a later release of some kind? Any information that you could provide about it, including the exact title of the single or a link to some information about it would be a godsend. Thanks.
Thanks for watching, fellow Goemon fan. As far as the single, it was released on 9-26-97, a week or two before the main OST and retailed for 1020 yen (tax included), which is about ten bucks, US. It contains four tracks, the game's title theme and Impact's theme, as well as "karaoke" versions of the two (no vocals). That's about all I can tell you regarding the CD, hope it helps.
Man Goemon kurofune brings back bad memories that game is total garbage from the second you open the box. A total disgrace of a game the controls are rubbish and so are the graphics it feels & plays nothing like a Goemon game. The boss levels are brutally unfair too, if you fail even once at the crap button mashing then right back to the very brginning of the dull & painful level you go.
Well, that's pretty harsh, and that level of harshness is definitely warranted. I used to hate the game, which is why I never bought it when I was a kid...however, maybe I've just gone soft over the years, but when I played it for a while the other day to capture footage for this video, I kind of enjoyed it...even though it is the worst game in the series.
Coming from one major Goemon collector and enthusiast to another, this video was absolutely awesome, thank you very much for sharing! Goemon and Castlevania have been my favorite series since I was a child and the love still burns bright till this very day :). PS: Ive never actually seen that LCD game or Boardgame for sale before (or the cute little figures) and Im suuuuper jealous of em lol. Great collection and great video, keep up the fantastic work!

I've been living in Japan for a few years now and I have always loved SNES Legend of the Mystical Ninja but haven't really played many of the other games much. This made me wanna start collecting them, especially the board game!

There are a lot of techniques to play imports on a U.S. PS2, like the "swap trick" method, but honestly, PS2s are so cheap now, it's best just to import one!

I am slowly building my Goemon Collection. Have all N64 games, all NES games, the DS game, all but 4 Manga and 3 japanese strategy guides. Will keep building. I also have the Anime Boxset. Plan on getting CDs if the prices drop. jealous about the board game. Really looking for one. would love to get one. And the grail. I plan to get the Arcade boxes once I have my house. Really want the two Panchislot games. Loved the collection.
Thank you--seems like you have a pretty sweet Goemon collection! I've been gearing up to complete my Goemon manga set, as well as the anime sometime. I'm more interested in getting figurines and keychains and such, but finding them is pretty tough these days. I've had opportunities to buy the slot and medal games, but either the deals have been bust, or I lost auctions/missed Amazon listings. Someday....anyway, good luck with your collection!
Thanks. I have never seen any of the figurines outside of a Yae on ebay that was $200. Which was unfortunately outside my budget. But I have hope to get more as time goes by. I am also planning on getting some of the Goemon related content, such as Wai Wai World. But all that is later. My current buying is Strategy Guides. So much art to see in those things. I would love to see more of your collection in future videos. Seeing Goemon content is always an awesome thing. For the Manga, i am curious on what you are missing. I Know for my collection, it is the Ganbare Goemon Gaiden Manga and Future Goemon 3 and Shin Goemon 2. So, keeping my eyes out for them even though Gaiden gets expensive. thanks for the video on your collection and all the previous videos in the past. I always look forward to more Goemon content. And if you have not had a chance, definitely try the translated Roms, so much fun those simple RPGs.

14:15 Um, dude... are you insane? Get your eyes checked, the international box art for Goemon on SNES/SFC looks butt ugly, especially compared to the Japanese box art. Not to mention it was completely unnecessary for them to change it in the first place, and they'd know that if publishers weren't always out of touch with the average gamer. >.
Shin Sedai Shuumei is one of the hardest Goemon game ever. Sometimes it required your hovering skills to land on the moving icicles safely. One mistake would end up in endless pitfall. Several enemies with a large health bar and deadliest attacks. Kiyohime’s stage gave me a true nightmare. The system also try to encourage the players to master the game. Such as collecting No-Damage Medal to upgrade their 4th level weapons, arresting all 14 criminals to obtain the solar battery, the secret helmet and Suit which can hold 10 times damaging is hidden in several stages.
Just went on a shopping spree for them SFC games because I couldn't help myself. Will be checking out those PS1 games later one though. I just love this game and drool over your collection, so thanks for sharing!
I had the Game Boy Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon game and I did enjoy it as a kid but there's a part in it where you have to mash a button so fast that it's virtually impossible for a human to do.
OMG!!! This is so amazing. Some of these games are so nostalgic to me, this is a great collection! I ordered the first N64 game from a catalog without knowing anything about it... and what a gem it turned out to be! Here in Brazil I think nobody knows about these series but me and my brother. That's a full ass collection there. I keep looking for the second N64 Mystical Ninja here but man it goes for silly money. Friend of mine had that game too. Guarantee he went and traded it in for pennies back in the day. Only one I have is the first N64 game, not even boxed. I'll fix that eventually when I have some Euros or whatever we use here now. Is there any of the famicom or Super famicom ones that are easy enough to play without translations? Some are more action focused than RPG focused right?
Damn, looks like I'm going to have to pay dearly to complete my PAL Goemon collection! As far as "playable" Goemon games go on the SFC and FC, 2 and 4 on the former and 1 & 2 on the latter are totally fine!
Awesome vid, I used to collect Goemon everything around the mid 90s (after owning and loving the SNES game). I thought i had a huge collection,but you rocked it! My absolute fav is the first PS1 game. Best Goemon game, best ost by a good margin...just an A+ game. Worst is def the 2nd gb one..blecchh.

Now THAT'S my kind of video! :D Too bad you reshot it, I would have watched the longer version, to be honest. :D You haven't played Ganbare Goemon 2 all the way through? :o But that's the one where it turns out Ebisumaru is actually a girl! :D ...and they retconed it in the next game so we could still have a goofy sidekick. It's okay, I mean who doesn't love Ebisumaru? Soreyuke Ebisumaru was pretty fun after I figured it out, in my opinion. It wasn't as hard as it seemed at first. Sure, it's far from being my favorite game of the series, but it's not half bad. It looks pretty confusing at first, I'll give you that. I totally agree about the soundtrack of the first N64 game, every single song is awesome! Even though the whole series has incredibly music, that one is definitely one that stands out. I thought that Mononoke Douchuu was easily the best of the Goemon RPGs! ...Which is not saying that much, neither of them is impressive or anything, but that one at least tries to mix things up, and I enjoyed the monster collecting aspect of it... But then again, I like Pokémon as well, so there you go. Anyway, beautiful collection, and I'm really curious to see what you think of all the games in greater detail when you eventually do separate reviews on all of them... You will do that, right? :D
Oh, I've not played GG2 all the way through yet, but I definitely know about the ending, ha ha. I'll give Mononoke Douchuu another stab in the future, and a dedicated one, too, but I was enjoying Tengu-tou much more, short as my play sessions were. And yes, I definitely want to do separate or more detailed videos on each game in the series!
I remember when DS game came out I pray and hope it come to USA it looked soooooo good T.T and damn Honestly I didn't know to much of non USA games below the PS2 game so was neat seeing some titles hadn't covered yet

There are so many games, it must have taken years to get all of this, it's cool seeing all of the packaging for these games, it was such a quality long running game series, it's a shame they don't make them anymore. I only have the SFC and N64 games, I could never have a complete set because of the Goemon N64 soundtrack, seeing the price online was a shocker, I've never seen a CD so expensive, I am a game soundtrack CD collector, but that's far beyond my limit. @@ImportGamingFTW I apologize for commenting on such an old video, but I just want to warn you about some problems with buying those soundtracks in case you ever decide to add them to your collection. I tried buying the soundtrack several times recently (for the first N64 Goemon), and it turned out to be a bootleg both times, I looked into it further and nearly half of the copies currently being sold were fake with nothing about this in the descriptions. What's worse is that the bootleg is extremely similar to the real copy. (Both N64 CDs have fake versions) With how much money it takes it's a very risky purchase, unless you're ok with paying 40,000-80,000 Yen for a bootleg.

My first experience was with the first N64 game, and I liked it so much I bought a CIB Japanese copy (I uploaded the intro and impact theme on my channel MANY years ago before the nice capture cards. I knew there were so many games in the series and not knowing Japanese it's hard to know what each one means or if the games were any good. I am glad you put them in chronological order. I have always wanted to own them all as well, but not speaking Japanese or knowing which games are worth getting/paying high import prices I never really pursued it. I did find the first PS1 game (family hits version) while I was in Hawaii one year for really cheap though. Thank you for letting me live via your collection!
Loved the video - always knew about this series but didn't know the full library. I wonder what the chances of some kind of Goemon representation in Super Smash Bros - the series never caught on in the West but was popular enough in Japan to justify some kind of inclusion.

For me the best games is Goemons great adventre best OST, best coop game and graphic in Goemon series. Konami show all that n64 can get good soundtruck on cardrige :)
Well, if that's truly the case, I would implore you to search harder on RUclips, as there are so many more videos out there that are better, related to Ganbare Goemon or otherwise, but either way, thank you very much.
Goemon really should have joined in Smash Bros as a playable character first instead of having Simon Belmont considering he is the true face of Konami and how the franchise itself remarkably contributed to past gaming industry and nintendo consoles along with Bomberman series out of all the various games that exist, especially in Japan. Sadly he doesn't get much respect from rest of the world while Castlevania has huge number of fans. (Don't get me wrong, I pesronally like Castlevania and respect others love for one character) And we even got Ridley who has been treated as an unwanted character in Japan, meaning that Nintendo is obviously buttering up too much the foreign audience these days, ignoring the needs of the Japanese. sigh

I have seen surveys from Japan and no surprise Goemon has a huge fan base behind him. I am sure he'll make it, then I would have one more character that directly impacted my childhood. Richter, Snake, were awesome to me on the psp as a kid. Heh maybe the Pyramid heads should come in after Goemon. Though honestly I never grew with a Nintendo system or their games. So most of the roster doesn't directly connect to my childhood. I haven't actually played a Nintendo game until my later teens in high school. Though my exceptions were mystical ninja and Castlevania going to a community center and borrowing a game or two. Though yeah I hope he gets in and has more games in the future
Good video. Not too sure if you are the best youtuber arround or just if our mindsets align. Either way, your collection videos have more depth then some reviews on youtube. I do love mystical ninja and its good to know that it had a cod schedule for a while there... i hope i can play some of those games one way or another (by the looks of it, it is leaning more toward the another).

Yeah, that's a price tag that'll knock the sake out of you.
I got the Goemon's Great Adventure soundtrack CD recently, and had the Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon one from almost a decade ago. You can definitely find them complete for under $1000, but nowadays $500 is considered a steal for the n64 Goemon OSTs haha. The Goemon soundtracks have always been pricy to obtain but soundtrack collecting in general is a pricy hobby. A lot of the times the CDs had very low print runs. Also be aware that there are counterfeits in circulation of the Goemon's Great Adventure OST.

Thanks for watching, fellow Goemon fan. As far as the single, it was released on 9-26-97, a week or two before the main OST and retailed for 1020 yen (tax included), which is about ten bucks, US. It contains four tracks, the game's title theme and Impact's theme, as well as "karaoke" versions of the two (no vocals). That's about all I can tell you regarding the CD, hope it helps.
Man Goemon kurofune brings back bad memories that game is total garbage from the second you open the box. A total disgrace of a game the controls are rubbish and so are the graphics it feels & plays nothing like a Goemon game. The boss levels are brutally unfair too, if you fail even once at the crap button mashing then right back to the very brginning of the dull & painful level you go.
Well, that's pretty harsh, and that level of harshness is definitely warranted. I used to hate the game, which is why I never bought it when I was a kid...however, maybe I've just gone soft over the years, but when I played it for a while the other day to capture footage for this video, I kind of enjoyed it...even though it is the worst game in the series.

I've been living in Japan for a few years now and I have always loved SNES Legend of the Mystical Ninja but haven't really played many of the other games much. This made me wanna start collecting them, especially the board game!

There are a lot of techniques to play imports on a U.S. PS2, like the "swap trick" method, but honestly, PS2s are so cheap now, it's best just to import one!

Thanks. I have never seen any of the figurines outside of a Yae on ebay that was $200. Which was unfortunately outside my budget. But I have hope to get more as time goes by. I am also planning on getting some of the Goemon related content, such as Wai Wai World. But all that is later. My current buying is Strategy Guides. So much art to see in those things.

For the Manga, i am curious on what you are missing. I Know for my collection, it is the Ganbare Goemon Gaiden Manga and Future Goemon 3 and Shin Goemon 2. So, keeping my eyes out for them even though Gaiden gets expensive.

14:15 Um, dude... are you insane? Get your eyes checked, the international box art for Goemon on SNES/SFC looks butt ugly, especially compared to the Japanese box art. Not to mention it was completely unnecessary for them to change it in the first place, and they'd know that if publishers weren't always out of touch with the average gamer. >.

Shin Sedai Shuumei is one of the hardest Goemon game ever.
Sometimes it required your hovering skills to land on the moving icicles safely. One mistake would end up in endless pitfall.
Several enemies with a large health bar and deadliest attacks. Kiyohime’s stage gave me a true nightmare.
The system also try to encourage the players to master the game. Such as collecting No-Damage Medal to upgrade their 4th level weapons, arresting all 14 criminals to obtain the solar battery, the secret helmet and Suit which can hold 10 times damaging is hidden in several stages.
Just went on a shopping spree for them SFC games because I couldn't help myself. Will be checking out those PS1 games later one though. I just love this game and drool over your collection, so thanks for sharing!

I had the Game Boy Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon game and I did enjoy it as a kid but there's a part in it where you have to mash a button so fast that it's virtually impossible for a human to do.

I ordered the first N64 game from a catalog without knowing anything about it... and what a gem it turned out to be! Here in Brazil I think nobody knows about these series but me and my brother. That's a full ass collection there. I keep looking for the second N64 Mystical Ninja here but man it goes for silly money. Friend of mine had that game too. Guarantee he went and traded it in for pennies back in the day. Only one I have is the first N64 game, not even boxed. I'll fix that eventually when I have some Euros or whatever we use here now.

Awesome vid, I used to collect Goemon everything around the mid 90s (after owning and loving the SNES game). I thought i had a huge collection,but you rocked it! My absolute fav is the first PS1 game. Best Goemon game, best ost by a good margin...just an A+ game. Worst is def the 2nd gb one..blecchh.
Good choice for a favorite Goemon game--Uchuu Kaizoku Akogingu is rad, and really a good representation of early PS1 gaming.

You haven't played Ganbare Goemon 2 all the way through? :o But that's the one where it turns out Ebisumaru is actually a girl! :D ...and they retconed it in the next game so we could still have a goofy sidekick. It's okay, I mean who doesn't love Ebisumaru?
Soreyuke Ebisumaru was pretty fun after I figured it out, in my opinion. It wasn't as hard as it seemed at first. Sure, it's far from being my favorite game of the series, but it's not half bad. It looks pretty confusing at first, I'll give you that.
I totally agree about the soundtrack of the first N64 game, every single song is awesome! Even though the whole series has incredibly music, that one is definitely one that stands out.
I thought that Mononoke Douchuu was easily the best of the Goemon RPGs! ...Which is not saying that much, neither of them is impressive or anything, but that one at least tries to mix things up, and I enjoyed the monster collecting aspect of it... But then again, I like Pokémon as well, so there you go.
Anyway, beautiful collection, and I'm really curious to see what you think of all the games in greater detail when you eventually do separate reviews on all of them... You will do that, right? :D
Oh, I've not played GG2 all the way through yet, but I definitely know about the ending, ha ha. I'll give Mononoke Douchuu another stab in the future, and a dedicated one, too, but I was enjoying Tengu-tou much more, short as my play sessions were. And yes, I definitely want to do separate or more detailed videos on each game in the series!

There are so many games, it must have taken years to get all of this, it's cool seeing all of the packaging for these games, it was such a quality long running game series, it's a shame they don't make them anymore.
I only have the SFC and N64 games, I could never have a complete set because of the Goemon N64 soundtrack, seeing the price online was a shocker, I've never seen a CD so expensive, I am a game soundtrack CD collector, but that's far beyond my limit.

@@ImportGamingFTW I apologize for commenting on such an old video, but I just want to warn you about some problems with buying those soundtracks in case you ever decide to add them to your collection.
I tried buying the soundtrack several times recently (for the first N64 Goemon), and it turned out to be a bootleg both times, I looked into it further and nearly half of the copies currently being sold were fake with nothing about this in the descriptions.
What's worse is that the bootleg is extremely similar to the real copy. (Both N64 CDs have fake versions)
With how much money it takes it's a very risky purchase, unless you're ok with paying 40,000-80,000 Yen for a bootleg.
I'm really sad there has been no new games in years :(

Try Mameda Bakeru for the switch! It released some months ago and is a love letter to Goemon! Not exactly the same game as Goemon but it's pretty good!

Using your collection as reference, I’m only missing 7 games(not counting re-releases) to complete my collection. My first experience was with the first N64 game, and I liked it so much I bought a CIB Japanese copy (I uploaded the intro and impact theme on my channel MANY years ago before the nice capture cards. I knew there were so many games in the series and not knowing Japanese it's hard to know what each one means or if the games were any good. I am glad you put them in chronological order.
I have always wanted to own them all as well, but not speaking Japanese or knowing which games are worth getting/paying high import prices I never really pursued it. I did find the first PS1 game (family hits version) while I was in Hawaii one year for really cheap though. Thank you for letting me live via your collection!
Loved the video - always knew about this series but didn't know the full library. I wonder what the chances of some kind of Goemon representation in Super Smash Bros - the series never caught on in the West but was popular enough in Japan to justify some kind of inclusion.

Goemon really should have joined in Smash Bros as a playable character first instead of having Simon Belmont considering he is the true face of Konami and how the franchise itself remarkably contributed to past gaming industry and nintendo consoles along with Bomberman series out of all the various games that exist, especially in Japan. Sadly he doesn't get much respect from rest of the world while Castlevania has huge number of fans. (Don't get me wrong, I pesronally like Castlevania and respect others love for one character) And we even got Ridley who has been treated as an unwanted character in Japan, meaning that Nintendo is obviously buttering up too much the foreign audience these days, ignoring the needs of the Japanese. sigh
Yeah, I love Castlevania, and it's cool that Simon's in there and all, but Goemon was THE Nintendo Konami franchise for the longest time!
