I don't care for Lord of the rings or game of thrones, but I really like Harry Potter. It probably is just the Medieval-european fantasy we don't like.
mickey disco GOT has a lot of fantasy elements, but most of it is based off of real human stories from the Middle Ages & feudalist societies. I don’t think the characters as individuals are all the interesting, it’s more so the interactions, politics that are so popular. Ned Stark is probably the most popular character on the show, and it’s not because he’s compelling or interesting like Frodo or Gandalf, he’s actually pretty boring in that sense. The reason he’s popular is because he’s so normal, and the way he responds to the horror going on around him is very relatable.
I still love guardians 2 but totally respect everything you said, and agree with a lot of it. One thing I absolutely loved about it though was learning more about Nebula and her becoming a guardian as well, that was definitely heartwarming for me.

What you were saying about Back to the Future is how I feel about the new Jumanji franchise. They aren’t really “remaking it”, it’s more of a modern take on a classic film. Turning the game into a (sort of) modern video game was such a cool concept to me, and I think they executed really well.
I personally prefer Willy Wonka, but I understand why you like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For me, I just don’t really enjoy Tim Burton’s style. I will say that I like Charlie’s take on the kids.
The Harry Potter movies where fair adaptations most authors would dream their work be adapted that well but the bar for properly adapting books is low I would love a decade from now adapting the books into a tv show on a streaming service a tv show would work better.
I want to see the jurassic park novels adapted faithfully someday. I love the movies but the novels are lit to and it'd be interesting seeing some of the same characters deal with the dinosaurs on screen.

My Most Unpopular opinion is liking Solo: A Star Wars Story. The opinion i disagree with you on the most is your take on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Really liked Solo when I first saw it, and it's grown on me more ever since. I put it at #4 on my Star Wars ranking, even though there's a big gap of quality between #3 and #4
I think it's okay, but it works more as a theater movie. Opening night, the funny scenes made everyone laugh, including me. Now, watching my Blu-Ray at home, it's just cringey.
Harry Shaia yes! It is! I frickin love that movie, it may have the same elements as A New Hope, but they have different narratives and story/character arcs. Rey may be a Mary Sue, but little Anakin and OT Luke were good at crap without training too, and I dont mind Rey doing the same
That opinion has really come around in the last few years, becuae I remember 10 years ago if u said revenge was your favorite people would look at you sideways because of Empire strikes back
I feel like this has become one of the most popular opinions in every Star Wars comment section. I respect your opinion. I don't like it as much as most people and it's actually only my 8th favorite Star Wars movie. It's still very good though. My favorites are A New Hope and Empire. But I also love The Force Awakens.
I think it’s because people that generation are starting to voice their opinion now. To me it’s my favorite Star Wars movie it gets the most emotion out of you. But if I’m being objective it’s not even close to the originals
I actually liked that Back to the future take. Seeing a current kid go back to the 80's and seeing life without cell phones and internet would be cool.
I really really really do think it's a transferable idea. I totally get why people are nervous. It absolutely could go terrible wrong in the wrong hands (or the right hands). But I also think it's entirely possible to do something very cool with it.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout It would definitely be a risky movie, but if done right, it could be great. They also could change up some storylines from the original movie to make it more fresh.
@@jarednavarrete1740 Alright name an objectively better trilogy. All 3 are good, and the characters have a good arc maintained throughout the 3 movies. Few other trilogies are so cohesive and consistent, and often seem to drop a bit in quality on the 3rd(godfather, Dark Knight, Back to the Future, some would say the OG star wars trilogy etc.) I love the way Lord of the Rings peaked at the end, it was a proper climax IMO.
If Back to the Future were to be remade Tom Holland should be Marty and RDJ should be Doc Brown. I dunno y'all have seen it but they made an amazing remake of a scene from it.
I thought the same about GOT at first and I forced myself to watch the first season but once you get past it believe me it gets addictive and is now my favorite show ever
Unpopular opinion: Iron Man 3 is fantastic, and my third favorite Marvel film. I love that movie so much. I love the first Iron Man and Endgame slightly more though
Unpopular opinion: All of Avengers: Endgame makes me cringe. It’s a decent movie, but puffed up to spectacular heights critically and commercially that it doesn’t really earn creatively.
Hot take: I HATE Inside Out. I have no clue why, but I cannot stand that movie. I know most people love it, and I wish I felt the same, but I think that is genuinely one of the most boring movies I’ve ever sat through. For a movie about emotions, I felt absolutely nothing. During the scene where that purple thing dies, I looked up and around and everyone was in tears and there were people genuinely sobbing, whereas I was just resisting the urge to get up and walk out. I enjoyed the anger character I guess, but I can’t think of anything else I like. In general I just can’t stand that movie.
Aaron Davidson i see there are some people bashing about Inside Out being overrated, but honestly I still love it. Its such a relatable movie for me, I feel the exact same as Riley cuz Ive moved twice and its depressing, and the movie is so good at depicting that. I saw Inside Out on opening day, the day before I moved, so I felt the same thing at the same time. I cry every time Riley comes home crying to her parents. Its just so relatable for me and I feel the same way, it makes me so sad
1:48 I absolutely love the Harry Potter franchise and I have ever since I was a kid. I love most of the movies just as much as the books. As for lord of the rings I’ve never been able to get into til recently and even then while I watched all of them and while I do respect them as movies I don’t love them as much as others do which is weird because I love Harry Potter which is fantasy so it’s probably not the fantasy aspect that I don’t connect with
There’s nothing remotely interesting or riveting in the first 2/3 of Rogue One. Last 1/3, visually amazing and loved it! I can’t make myself watch that first hour plus though. It is so boring! As far as Solo, much more of a cohesive story from beginning to end. Not the best, but I definitely enjoyed it more as a whole.
I LOVE what sean has continued to do with his lists and reviews! He is such a great critic AND father! He is one of my inspirations to start my own movie review channel to keep up the conversation about movies and TV!
I'm definitely one of your younger viewers lol, I was born in 98. The first Incredibles was my first ever theater experience. I think I was about 6. I get why Syndrome may not work as a villain to some, like in the same sense as Jamie Foxx from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I always liked Syndrome as a bad guy because they didn't overplay the character of Buddy. I loved the sequel too, but I was a bit disappointed they didn't follow up on the Underminer's story more. I remember seeing that cliff hanger on the big screen and for years me and my friends would discuss how we thought that battle would play out and I was disappointed that they limited it to the opening scene but it was still a great movie! Great video by the way.
@@mt.lafferty2827 I personally, as a hardcore star wars legends fan HATED everything with Luke ,and I don't think any of the new characters are good characters especially Rey is just way too powerful. The force is completely mishandled and as a hardcore star wars fan I just can't enjoy the movie at all, because it completely butchers Luke Skywalker. But I totally understand that people who are not as hardcore star wars fans as I am can love this movie and that's fine
No way, Goblet of Fire movie left out a third of the source material. It skipped over a lot of characters, scenes, and details that were not only important for the goblet of fires resolution, but for the entire series. I’m with you 100%
I definitely enjoyed and had a great time. Even with it's problems. I'd watch it over Half Blood Prince and Goblet of Fire any day. The only movies I actually like and enjoy are Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 (I have to watch them together).
Me: "Oh, unpopular opinions. That's okay. I'll still respect them." Sean: "I didn't like Syndrome." Me: "The Lord is testing me." I absolutely agree with your opinion on Revenge of the Sith. Obi Wan and Sidious are great, but Anakin fell flat for me, and the dialogue is pretty bad.
I love the LOTR and think Hp is overrated, but I can respect where you are coming from. My hot take: The Dark knight trilogy is overrated. I love it, but people pile too much praise on it.
Indeed one of the best Star Wars movies. Although any of the Original Trilogy movies probably beat it, it's still really good. Probably 4th or 5th place (and that's saying a lot actually)
Lord of the Rings is a masterpiece trilogy. I don't get how someone who is a movie buff, regardless if 'fantasy' is not your favorite, cannot appreciate the brilliance of both JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson. On the other hand I loved Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, so.
Before I begin, I will say that I would never share these opinions in any other movie discussion place EXCEPT Sean Chandler's channel because this comment section has consistently been a place of civil discussion. Well done creating this safe place, Sean! Anyway, the opinions I get the most hate for are: -I lost interest in Harry Potter pretty quickly after Goblet of Fire - The Force Awakens has consistently tops my favorite Star Wars films list. - I hated Ironman 3 so irrationally much. I know it doesnt get a lot of love already, but I rank it far lower than Thor 2, Ironman 2, and Incredible Hulk. (And to be clear, of the many many factors that make me hate it, the Mandarin is not one of them) - I literally dont see what is so great about the Godfather. It is constantly called one of the best, if not THE best, film of all time. When I finally sat down to watch it with a friend, we got so bored we turned it off after an hour. I later finished it on my own so I could say I did, but I saw little that made it compelling or groundbreaking, and there were some glaring flaws too. - I actually genuinely loved the Aladdin remake. I have found myself putting on the soundtrack on Spotfy pretty frequently and have even sat down to rewatch it at least twice. Now, I'm still going to show to animated orginal to my kids since I still think the original is unquestionably the superior film, but despite my indifference of most other Disney remakes, I was pleasantly surprised by Aladdin. - I didnt care for Pirates of the Caribbean hardly at all. This is shocking to many as I was the target audience when they came out and all my friends and siblings love them, but I never saw them in theatres, didnt find the first one that entertaining, and turned off the second 20 minutes in. - The animated Christmas Carol film with Jim Carrey is easily the best Christmas Carol adaptation. It's not like this is a huge debate, but I'm a big fan of the source material and have seen practically every adaptation both on stage and film and Disney's is the best in terms of faithfulness to the original. So many people cite Patrick Stewart's or the Muppets' versions as better but I stand by my opinion of the Disney one - I dont give two hoots about Tiger King. It's not that I love it or hate it, I just genuinely dont care about it, never plan to watch it, and want people to shut up about it. - I genuinely dont see what made the Hunger Games so popular. I was in middle and high school when the books and movies came out and all my friends obsessed over them. I only saw the first and second movies a little over a year ago and was shocked by the violence and thought that if there were any political messages or satire, it clearly wasnt appearent enough for me to get it. - And this last one isnt a movie, but I'm a huge musical theatre nerd (I've been performing on the stage for almost a decade) and I HATE Into the Woods. I seriously disagree with the hype people give it. Yet weirdly, unlike other theatre buffs, I thought the movie was pretty good.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is so brilliant 🤩 I love this film. All the themes, the characters, the development, the ending, the way they handeled the tone of the film One of my absolut fav. MCU Films Father and Son in this movie always makes me cry

@@pedrorestrepo159 What makes them better is thinking how emotionally distant these two people are: a teenage monk with no familial or otherwise relationships along with a pressured politician who sometimes just wants a normal life. Lucas always intended the awkwardness in romance, but in execution, he kinda messed it up. Seeing how it ended in tragedy always adds that "epic space opera" feel to it too, and what it means to the saga and the wider universe as a whole is so important. Here are 10 unpopular opinions of mine in regards to movies and TV shows: 1. Michael Bay isn't such a bad director. 2. The DCEU is good. 3. The DCEU is not as dark as everyone keeps claimimg it is. 4. I feel that both Joss Whedon's Justice League and Zack Snyder's Justice League can be enjoyed for different reasons each and if someone is disappointed by the one version, they might find enjoyment in the other. 5. A good portion of the Dragon Ball movies are not very good. 6. We need more kaiju TV shows. Also, some live-action mecha TV shows would be great. 7. The scene in Transformers: Age of Extinction where Optimus Prime recruits the Dinobots is horrible. 8. The shaky cam in Batman Begins didn't bother me at all. 9. The Monsterverse movies actually are well-written movies. 10. The scene in the Transformers 2007 in which Sam's girlfriend breaks down and cries during the final battle is a legitimately touching scene. Also, here are some honorable mentions: Alien vs Predator is awesome, I like Batman's voice in the Nolan trilogy, Boba Fett isn't such a badass in the Star Wars movies, the Raptors in Jurassic World are awesome, Arrow season 6 is great, the 2016 Jungle Book movie is my favourite Jungle Book movie.
I personally love GoT. I can understand that it may not be everyone‘s cup of tea, and the 1st season can take you like 5-6 episodes to get into, but I think that the writing is fantastic, the story is compelling, the characters have great depth and the show is incredibly well made imo.
People need to stop getting passionate about things they like. Stop acting as if another person's take is an attack on them-it wasn't an attack them. One person likes one thing and another person likes another for whatever reason. It's not an attack against you-it's a statement against what the other person does not prefer. And that's really what we are discussing here-what a person prefers and not absolute and concrete facts. Stop connecting the things you like with your self worth. Good video, Sean.
I get the feeling that Sean’s dislike for things like Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 and Game Of Thrones probably comes from the fact that he’s a dad, it seems like with a lot of people once they have kids and become parents they start having less and less of a tolerance for things that are really bloody and violent and you start wanting the entertainment you view to be more clean and family friendly, I don’t know a lot of people out there who have kids and still get thrills out of dark and violent media, and so I think Sean just had that same kind of transformation
I think he mentioned he had a complicated relationship with his father, so that's probably why GOTG Vol 2, in which the main character's father is a monster who uses his son as a battery to take over the universe.
prob my fav of the original Sam raimi trilogy because I don't have much nostalgia for that trilogy, and I just find that one a lot more funny and entertain even though the plot is pretty bad
Alex Macaroni ok yeah that’s why I said I didn’t k ow if it was unpopular b ex aide I have heard a lot of people say TROS is the best and I never really agreed with them
I actually agree with you on Goblet of Fire ngl. There were a lot of weird choices made in that film especially compared to the book. Part of it is probably due to the fact that the director, Mike Newell didn't have the passion for the franchise that some of the other directors did. He complains in multiple interviews about how long the book is and I've heard of a couple of choices he planned on making that had to be shot down by actual fans of the franchise who were working on the film. I know its probably really annoying to some people when movies are compared to their book counterparts too much, but Goblet of Fire had so much potential and I think the movie missed out big time. Same reason I don't like Half Blood Prince that much.

I don't think that's controversial honestly
I actually enjoyed Terminator salvation it’s a nice new take on the terminator franchise
Aaron Cutter exactly plus to me it really puts in the fear of what if machines took over the world
Noooo I cannot relate. It's ok, it's just your opinion but wow I cannot agree
I agree
What you were saying about Back to the Future is how I feel about the new Jumanji franchise. They aren’t really “remaking it”, it’s more of a modern take on a classic film. Turning the game into a (sort of) modern video game was such a cool concept to me, and I think they executed really well.
Lord of the Rings is my favorite franchise.
My unpopular opinion: I like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory better than Willy Wonka

I personally prefer Willy Wonka, but I understand why you like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For me, I just don’t really enjoy Tim Burton’s style. I will say that I like Charlie’s take on the kids.
@Nick Barrie Don't agree with you on Lord of the rings, but totally agree with you on Charlie and the chocolate factory
Same. It's just something about Tim Burton's style that gets me to like it more.
Tom Holland and RDJ would be awesome if they did a back to the future remake
LOL I SAW THAT
Your a genius!!!!
Tom Holland would refuse to do it
YESSSSSS
Tom Holland would be good, but I’m not so sure about RDJ as Doc
The Harry Potter movies where fair adaptations most authors would dream their work be adapted that well but the bar for properly adapting books is low I would love a decade from now adapting the books into a tv show on a streaming service a tv show would work better.
They're doing this with Percy Jackson.
Percy Jackson I hope will be good, prefer it over HP honestly
I think Amazon's doing that with Harry Potter
I want to see the jurassic park novels adapted faithfully someday. I love the movies but the novels are lit to and it'd be interesting seeing some of the same characters deal with the dinosaurs on screen.
Lord of the rings is the best book to movie adaptation, change my mind. The Hobbit on the other hand... not so much

the force awakens is a great movie
It's actually the movie that introduced me to star wars, and is my favorite one of the sequel trilogy.

@@jarednavarrete1740 Alright name an objectively better trilogy. All 3 are good, and the characters have a good arc maintained throughout the 3 movies. Few other trilogies are so cohesive and consistent, and often seem to drop a bit in quality on the 3rd(godfather, Dark Knight, Back to the Future, some would say the OG star wars trilogy etc.)
I love the way Lord of the Rings peaked at the end, it was a proper climax IMO.

Aaron Davidson same here
I absolutely despise that movie
Good lord that’s such a bad take. You must not have had a childhood
My childhood involved the Pixar movies that are actually good but thanks for the kind comment

Everything is a masterpiece compared to TLJ
Anyway, the opinions I get the most hate for are:
-I lost interest in Harry Potter pretty quickly after Goblet of Fire
- The Force Awakens has consistently tops my favorite Star Wars films list.
- I hated Ironman 3 so irrationally much. I know it doesnt get a lot of love already, but I rank it far lower than Thor 2, Ironman 2, and Incredible Hulk. (And to be clear, of the many many factors that make me hate it, the Mandarin is not one of them)
- I literally dont see what is so great about the Godfather.
So many people cite Patrick Stewart's or the Muppets' versions as better but I stand by my opinion of the Disney one
- I dont give two hoots about Tiger King.
That you almost never have negativity in your reviews. That’s one for sure(but I appreciate it though)

Unpopular opinion: temple of doom is as good if not better than raiders
@@carwashr683 I'm sure that most of the people like it, but most of the people I know think it's inferior to raiders, I like it better than raiders
I agree
I thought temple of doom was way better paced than raiders. Parts of raiders are kinda slow
@@maestercraig3990 yeah, me too
I think Temple of doom is as great as Raiders of the lost ark
This was actually really well handled for a dude talking about people not liking his opinions, respect for not being salty at all Sean!
I’d say the opinion we disagreed with you the most on was about Terminator: Dark Fate.
The most unpopular opinion we have is that Star Wars Rise of Skywalker was good.
I thought it was good, but repetitive
Rise of Skywalker sucks
I Loved Rise of Skywalker too It was So Good!!!!

“I’m not really a fan of Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter.”
So I’m not alone.
Haha me too man, I could never get into those films
Gabe Selden Yeah, I couldn’t get into the Lord of the Rings. I also don’t love the Harry Potter films. Although, the books are amazing and should never be dragged down by the movies.
Sean: I'm not a fan of Lord of the rings....
Me: (Sigh) Yes! I'm not alone.
Sean: ....or Harry Potter
Me: Ahh. Why'd you have to take it that far? Lol
I can't get into those movies. I fall asleep all the time
You guys are really sad people
I’d watch a back to the future remake.
Same
