It is an amazing song. It's also one I try to live by when having to say goodbye to someone I love.

Played this at my Mom’s funeral 16 years ago. This is exactly how she felt every time one of us 8 kids moved out, went off to school, got married, travelled. She was happy for us and put on a strong face but we knew. Bawling as I listen to this still today.
I think most people interpret this as a boyfriend-girlfriend situation and not the dad-daughter situation portrayed in the video. With two daughters myself, I can relate how I want to keep them to myself but, I also want them to find the love of their lives and live happily ever after.

Thanks, girl. I can't stop her from leaving and don't want to. The reason she is moving is to make a better life for herself and her happiness is so much more important to me than anything else. I did post a link to the her video on her Facebook wall with a little note about how much I will miss her, and she said she will miss me too. So at least anytime we hear this song, we will always think of each other.
