I always wondered what this game was about. I remember being drawn to the artwork as a kid, but I never got a chance to play it. Thanks for the retro review!
Thanks for not having a long intro and getting down to business. I grew up with this game too. Wish they would give it a brush up like the Disney Afternoon pack
Never played it, but I'll never forget Space Mountain. I went to Disney in Florida once myself but as a teenager and the ride broke down and stopped in the middle. Was stuck inside, in the dark, with only stars to look at for about half an hour. It was cool at first because I could take the time to see all the detail they put into everything but after the first 5 minutes it got boring really quick.
A childhood favorite of mine :) Only problem as a Finnish kid was that I couldn't read English text. So when it came to the trivia questions, I just tried every answer and then memorized the right ones. Other than that small obstacle, I enjoyed this game growing up. I liked the variety of gameplay in it that it had platforming, racing and action in space in one game.
It's a fun little game. I'm pretty sure they had more planned since the _It's a Small World_ ride has an open doorway that you cannot enter. I wouldn't be surprised if this one ran into issues with a deadline. It's also interesting that the main character seems to be modeled after Tom Sawyer, yet the riverboat ride isn't a level either.
One of the hardest games for me as a kid and even as an adult,The sounds is really well done each stage has its definite sounds that make you feel that the stage is authentic.
I loved playing this game as a kid. I actually liked how the layout of the park matches up to The Magic Kingdom in Florida. I grew up near there and it always made me want to go to the park.
I remember playing this as a kid in daycare. I just got back from visiting the Magic Kingdom and it brought memories of this game. I will say that it took me forever to remember the title this game. This was one my most influential games growing up because of because of various genres that I was exposed to! Not perfect by any stretch but it did open the door for me to enjoy games like Sonic, Kirby or Star Fox in future. Thanks for the review!
One of my favorite games as a kid. I remember I used to rent this game all the time along with Battletoads... You can imagine that I faired better with this game! Not the most challenging game in the CAPCOM/Disney library, but it is often over looked. I actually did a lets play on my channel and man did it bring back memories!
What's confusing is that while it's called Adventures in the Magic Kingdom and has the Cinderella castle on the cover, clearly indicating that the game takes place at WDW in Florida, the race car section is called Autopia, which is a Disneyland attraction, instead of Tomorrowland Speedway. Also, the castle in the back of the park map is supposed to be It's a Small World, and this is definitely the Disneyland version.
This is one of my most memorable NES games. I never owned it, but would stay up so late with my neighborhood friend trying to beat space mountain and the pirate level.
I remember playing this game in my living room when I was a kid all day long, and I have to say it was fun but not easy, specially the Space ride. Nice review, this brings back lots of good memories, thank you :)
Same. It was scary to me, but at the same time I thought it was a cool stage. One thing that seriously made me uncomfortable was something I discovered by accident. If you jumped into the Master Spectre(boss of the level) that flies above you as when level begins, you will get an alternate "try again" screen where the Master Spectre stares at you while saying "try again".
I always found it really hard considering how much of thr game is trial and error, especially Big Thunder Mountain. I do love the music, especially Pirates of the Caribbean and Autopia.
When I was a kid, I hired this game a lot of times, now I have it and I'm playing it right now. I found it very fun to spend some holiday time on it. Greetings from Buenos Aires. Btw I subscribe.
This looks like a much better title than I originally thought. I have this game but have never bothered to pop it in, to try it. I may have to change that soon. Great review, just subscribed!
that ride was fun i remember going to disney world as well when i was like 11 and soemtimes i did that 2 if there was no line i would go on over and over again
I got on Space Mountain just once (in real life, at Disneyland in California) and I got so motion sick that it ruined the rest of the day at Disneyland. Though other rides (such as Star Tours) didn't help matters. I loved this game as a kid. I'd probably still love it if I played it again.
All Disney games developed by Capcom were easy. However, one I found challenged was Chip n Dale 2, it was also one of the later NES games that were released in 1994 in Sweden. Reason for that was Bergsala AB who distributed a certain NES games they allowed in Scandinavia, they were ran by Nintendo. They were also the only part of the world outside of Japan that got Mr. Gimmick! for NES that is to this day the most expensive video game ever. My favourite Disney game on the NES was not Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, it was either Darkwing Duck or Duck Tales 2. But I have very good memories by Tale Spin. It was my very first Disney game I played, I found it a little bit difficult at first try, but it went smoother the more you learned the gameplay mechanics. Bonus stages hidden in the stages did the same in Darkwing Duck.
+Cannot be tamed When I think of it, the stages in the first three were quite a challenge (at least the town and the sewer) and the difficulty became more clear with the last three stages. With Quacker Jack being the easiest boss of the first three with the easiest stage the next boss that was easy had a hard stage (Megavolt). Not to mention the last stage and the last boss. But Chip n Dale 2 is still challenging at the end with Clock Tower and Wild West (including the bosses).
As a kid I always hoped that there would be a sequel with more of the side scrolling levels. I liked the other ones too, but it was weird to me that there were these two awesome levels, but that was all they did with that engine.
Not the best Capcom Disney game but a worthy addition to the Disney games on the NES. I didnt have this growing up but scored it at a garage sale about 8 years ago. It's fun
Glad you did a vid about this game! I've glanced at this game numerous times, with thoughts of getting it. Honestly not knowing much about it. I would be more likely to get it for cheap. Testing it out on my psp.
I missed out on this one. Seeing it was a Disney game, I would have walked right past it in my local Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. I'd assume it was a kids game. I missed out on a lot of good games like that. Shame really. The Pirates part reminds me a bit of Ghosts & Goblins. It looks fun.
I'm always impressed when games try to do many things, and then do them well. In my experience, games that try to serve too many masters end up messing up one or more of them. But it sounds like this one doesn't, despite its short length. Looks like it could have been fun, sadly another I missed growing up with the NES. I was a little surprised by how much your character sprite does play a bit of a resemblance to Woody from Toy Story. Having never visited a Disney park, this would have been as close as I'd have gotten....the lines would have driven me mad otherwise.
This game was very hit or miss with its levels. I can never beat the Thunder Mountain level without cheating. I was probably best at the platforming levels, and I do love the music in this game, especially the Pirate level. I might cover this one at some point, when I attempt a Disney/Capcom series of games.
IronTorch20 Somehow, despite not having played this game in many years, I managed to one-shot Thunder Mountain. I thought I'd end up in a dead end for sure, but it seems my memory is either better than I think, or I'm just lukcy.
Pam, wasn't that boy main character in one of those weird Disney short movies from like in the 50s or something? Good review as always. Happy gaming and God bless you, beauty.
I heard from another YTer that konami ripped off capcoms magic kingdom with tiny toon adventures 2. But I don't think the levels from each game are the same. But 1 thing they do have in common is that their both friggin hard! I can't complete a single stage! LOL
You could keep the retro games footage with 4:3 aspect ratio with pillarbox images on sides, otherwise looks pretty weird when the game became stretched
+Otis Driftwood That's cool. I would have been done really quick this time around, but I got stuck trying to find the candle in Pirates of the Caribbean.
2:16 Looks like Capcom recycled a level from Ghosts 'n Goblins. 3:07 Level copied from / inspired by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Arcade). 3:23 Bump 'n Jump...? 4:04 Final level from Michael Jackson's Moonwalker for Genesis?!? 4:52 Come on, definitely Ghosts 'n Goblins...!
I always hated this game as a kid and never went back to it, this and Muppet Adventure: Chaos at the Carnival I both really disliked, but given that this is a capcom title i really need to make my way back to it at some point.
Frustratingly short, unrewarding game. Over half the game map is unplayable. What makes it worse is that it does have that fine Capcom-NES quality, that makes you wonder of the potential it could’ve reached.
I had sooo hard with the space mountain when I was little. Favorite game back in the day
I always wondered what this game was about. I remember being drawn to the artwork as a kid, but I never got a chance to play it. Thanks for the retro review!
Thanks for not having a long intro and getting down to business. I grew up with this game too. Wish they would give it a brush up like the Disney Afternoon pack
I also dislike long intros.
Ah, getting stuck on a roller coaster sounds stressful.
Dayum! This takes me back wow!

I just bought this today I'm so excited, great video!
I like the relaxed style of this gaming review
+jaymorpheus11 Thanks!

No problem :)
OMG I had that game too! Love retro Pam! And retro games😁
One of my favorite games as a kid. I remember I used to rent this game all the time along with Battletoads... You can imagine that I faired better with this game! Not the most challenging game in the CAPCOM/Disney library, but it is often over looked. I actually did a lets play on my channel and man did it bring back memories!
+Chris Miller When I replayed for this, I even remembered the answers to some of the trivia questions. It's a fun game.
Id never heard of this that i can recall before seeing an ad in an old comic today. Looks like its worth checking out, thanks!
Over 20 years and now I found out what the stars are for :D I still have fun memories of this game
It's a fun one
Used to play this at my neighbors house all the time as a kid. Was hard as balls. Great video, great retro game choices in general.
+Protege385 Thanks!

Interesting. I've only been to DisneyWorld (a looong time ago), but there were some things in this game that didn't seem to be from there.
Oh wow I had totally forgot about this game. It was a frequent rental at the time for me and my younger siblings. Thanks for the review and memories!
No problem :)
This is one of my most memorable NES games. I never owned it, but would stay up so late with my neighborhood friend trying to beat space mountain and the pirate level.
Yes!!!
This one goes Way back in those Golden years like 94 as a kid , The hunted mansion is the most Epic one I really like it also the Space World.😊👌🎮❤.
I love that you named the boy Pam, such a good name 😀
I remember playing this game in my living room when I was a kid all day long, and I have to say it was fun but not easy, specially the Space ride. Nice review, this brings back lots of good memories, thank you :)
You’re welcome :)
The space ride was nuts!! What an adrenaline rush when you would finally get through it...
The haunted mansion levels scared me so much as a kid. I never finished it to this day
Same. It was scary to me, but at the same time I thought it was a cool stage. One thing that seriously made me uncomfortable was something I discovered by accident. thanks for the upload , helped me find some old memories growing up
I love it when games try to do a few genres in one game. I didn't have this one as a kid but I think I would've liked it.
Me too! It keeps things interesting.
I played a lot of Disney Capcom games back in the day & this was one of my favourites, Awesome review.
+CPNICHOLLS Thank you! It seems a lot of people rate this one of the weaker Disney Capcom games, but I've always really liked it.
+Cannot be Tamed Space Mountain got me every time.
Used to rent this one a lot when i was a kid. Now i own it :)
Love this game childhood favorite.
When I was a kid, I hired this game a lot of times, now I have it and I'm playing it right now. I found it very fun to spend some holiday time on it. Greetings from Buenos Aires. Btw I subscribe.
Thanks and hello!
Stumbled across your channel today.
I played through this game a few months ago, I enjoyed it.
Good content! subbed =]
+RetroR0bbie Thanks :)
great review Kingdom Hearts was the first Disney game I played
Enjoyed that game, I couldn't tell anyone alot about it because I was a kid but I do remember thinking it was fun and a neat little game 😎
You can also throw the candle when you get it after going to the next room in the Pirates platformer.
This looks like a much better title than I originally thought. I have this game but have never bothered to pop it in, to try it. I may have to change that soon. Great review, just subscribed!
Thank a lot! Yeah, give it a try, it's fun and quick to beat.
I loved this game as a child. I think I will get it on an emulator.
that ride was fun i remember going to disney world as well when i was like 11 and soemtimes i did that 2 if there was no line i would go on over and over again

+Jay M Oh no >< I thought the ride was a lot of fun, though I went on the one in Florida.
The kid in this game always reminded me of Mike Teevee from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
That's a good comparison. I really never understood why he was wearing a cowboy hat.
Great video ❤❤❤
Would have subbed if it is were still retro!
❤❤❤
Great video Pam, keep 'em coming
GameEnthus Thank you!

I agree, they could have done a lot more with it.
Not the best Capcom Disney game but a worthy addition to the Disney games on the NES. I didnt have this growing up but scored it at a garage sale about 8 years ago. It's fun
My cousins had this game used to love the haunted mansion part
That was my favourite stage.
Cannot be Tamed it was awesome, is this game expensive or hard to find?
Glad you did a vid about this game! I've glanced at this game numerous times, with thoughts of getting it. Honestly not knowing much about it. I would be more likely to get it for cheap. Testing it out on my psp.
Lifespiller79 I hope you like it!
Not bad for a NES title! I love the NES, so its good to see the love you show to the NES.

I’ve never played this I kind a wanna emulate it now plus I love Disneyland
Interesting title! I haven't played it yet, but when I get a copy I will. Anyways, I will check out more of your videos. :)
Mike Maverick Thank you!
During the space mountain game i can never get passed the > < I always take a hit and still to this day can not figure it out.
Btw great videos. Definitely subscribing. Love the NES reviews.
+jeremy van hise Thanks!

Today the Walt Disney World Resort turns 50 #DisneyWorld50 #Capcom
I've played and beaten the game. Also, I named the playable character Sora.
Hermosa.. muy buen video.. saludos desde Perú
Pam, wasn't that boy main character in one of those weird Disney short movies from like in the 50s or something?
Good review as always. Happy gaming and God bless you, beauty.
+Lord JS He could have been, I'm not sure. I don't know a whole lot about the shorter Disney movies.
I'm going to do research on it so I know for sure.
This game is a pain in the butt
I heard from another YTer that konami ripped off capcoms magic kingdom with tiny toon adventures 2. But I don't think the levels from each game are the same. But 1 thing they do have in common is that their both friggin hard!
I can't complete a single stage! LOL
You could keep the retro games footage with 4:3 aspect ratio with pillarbox images on sides, otherwise looks pretty weird when the game became stretched
+Lodan Zark I played this on a Retron, it upscales it.
I always had more fun with the Disneyworld kart racer on PS1
Hey do you do reviews of new indie games? There is a game called Strayspells. Do you think you would test it?
5:13 That is one FRIGHTENING Mickey. o.o
The Mouse Potatoes I never really noticed before, but yes it is. Eek
I remember playing this game with my cousins we would time it see who could beat it the fastest
+Otis Driftwood That's cool. I would have been done really quick this time around, but I got stuck trying to find the candle in Pirates of the Caribbean.
What is the lone animbo you have on your shelf?
+jeremy van hise There's a Sonic on the middle shelf and a Mega Man up top.
I see you use fliters. I recommend using hq3x instead of Scale3x.
I bought this game a few years ago, but sadly it is in the backlog. :/
iluvgrapedrank Give it a try, it's a nice short one!
This game unrealistic...I mean just where are the 3 hr long lines, huh???Hmmm, huh!!??Haha!Just kidding.
Haha, I remember when I went to Disney World I went on Haunted Mansion over and over because there was no line.
I love you
Frustratingly short, unrewarding game.
Over half the game map is unplayable.
