This has been one of the most educational and entertaining videos I have seen recently. Good show sir. PS. your voice is great. Made for good watching, I enjoyed learning about the lift types. More please.
Hands down one of my favourite videos on RUclips, brings back so many happy memories, undoubtedly my favourite lift tour of yours, I know you've moved on from lift tours but they will always bring back great memories for me
To be honest, when I look back at this video, I remember filming it at the time and put effort into it, but at the same time it feels very outdated. The level of content I make today has massively improved since then. My more recent videos have included driving cranes, leg dangles, sneaking into places, squatting abandoned buildings with working electricity, surfing rare lifts, surfing high speed lifts and repairing abandoned lifts. So by comparison my old random lift tours feel very basic. They were fun for the time, but they are not that interesting in comparison to my later videos.
@@benolifts Yeah I watch all your latest content and I think it's absolutely epic, these old lift tours are just a trip down memory lane for me, but I love watching your new content as well!
7:08 I know but keep in mind that buildings do not cater to you or care about people wanting to keep the old lifts. People think the old lift tries to break down. Also, the older a lift gets, the harder it becomes to find parts for it.
I remember all those lifts and the long deserted corridors from my time at King's. I injured my back once in that old gated lift by old theatres when transferring a liver transplant patient from theatres to the ward; the lift stopped about 6 inches below the floor so had to lift the bed with the critically ill patient. Ouch! And why was it the lift to the Labour Ward on the 8th floor was always out of commission when we were called to a C-section or arrest? My old pal Alan was so out of breath when he got to the 8th floor a visitor asked him if she should get a nurse for him. Happy days working in one of the most wonderful hospitals on the planet with some fantastic people. :-)
These are videos I did ages ago. I personally feel that these old videos are not up to the standards of my present day videos. The content I am making today is over 100 times better. Have you checked out the advent calendar that is currently in progress.
@@benolifts I agree, I love your new stuff, I’ve been watching you for years now, but these videos are what made me find out about your channel, I’m really nostalgic towards these and they have a special charm to them in my opinion, but I do agree that your new stuff is much better and i do think your new vids have a great sense of charm to them too!
@@animatedabe6819 It is nice to hear from people that they enjoy watching my videos. Ultimately I made my videos for people to enjoy watching. With my latest videos, I have put in loads of effort to get the best content I can. which can include things not seen before on RUclips, but I find it a bit disconcerting when some people are saying they like my old videos, which I didn't put anywhere near as much effort into them.
@@benolifts well it can also be a sign if people enjoying your beginnings, without these videos or any of your earlier stuff, you would’ve never blossomed into what you’ve became today, the much better and more interesting Beno, but people love to revisit the earlier Beno because that’s what they started with, the beginning of their journey with you, and see the massive glow-up, so don’t find it disconcerting, see it as people liking your beginnings
I seem to recall that the scary service corridor with the blue-doored goods lift is actually the corridor that runs under Denmark Hill that connects King's College Hospital with the former Neurosurgical Science Unit at The Maudsley. I worked in theatres at both sites and went through the corridor several times. Very hot down there
+John Michael Richards I didn't know that there is a tunnel between Kings and Maudsley! The tunnel I went along runs parallel to the railway and leads around the back of the hospital. This area has building works going on. They are filling in the area between the wings of the buildings, cramming stuff in wherever there is some space.
What a great video! I really enjoyed it. My favourite lift is the second Hammond & Champness lift and the creepy old one you fond in that spooky service passage, very nice.
I'm impressed. Amazing you did not get challenged by security. The Hammond and Champness lifts were good, but was pleased to see an antique goods lift made by D+A Lifts. First time I've seen a D+A lift. Otis are still the very best of the best elite, and if I had my own way all the lifts would be Otis. It would be nice to set up a lift appreciation society charity where the law would protect and preserve old lifts. I spotted a ALS lift. Long live elevator enthusiasts.
I agree. there's one like it in Ipswich and the h+c lift near me I've got a feeling may be modernized soon due to clarity of button issues a long term broken floor indicator and a potential safety issue.
first set of lifts need destination dispatch or miconic 10. i like that three door lift. service areas cause curiosity. playing with lights is fun :) main corridor looks HUGE when empty. the modded lift is ok. rattley lift should have new guide rails. next two mods are mistakes. staff lift has G and LG which the other lack. P and D lift has a fun motor. did the arrows in the P and D lift ever work? extending cement with metal is very strange. this is also urban exploration.
And now to the next lift with context of my old gated lift with a: STUPID GENERIC! Used go be liftec release of the modernized lifts! But if dosen't WORKING!
those pipes could be esbestos. you have good room with a wonderful view. why were you in hospital? fun how lifts can be in unexpected places. small hydro lift made a siren noise. maybe it isn't used enough to have a phone. top of the platform lift is floor 0.5. H and C lifts are nice. wish we had some in America. the junky generic should be replaced.
One thing I notice is that so many hospitals seem to use two-speed doors on their lifts for some reason. why Regular center-open doors don't do the job i can't tell.
Warning ⚠️ Strong Magnetic Field No entry at all into the area above the red painted line. 2 meters from floor level Without permission from superintendent radiographer, neuroradiology department
Hi, what is that with the red line in the basement and why they have this two beds down there in this room? Can you explain a bit more about it, my english is not that good so i can not understand everything you said in the video. Thank you.
This video brings back so many memories of my childhood. This has to be my favourite video on all of RUclips.

After since starting to watch your video the early years, I liked lifts when I was a child. This video I firstly watched, is my childhood.
Same too, this is my first elevator video since I was still little

7:08 I WANT THE OLD LIFT BACK!!!
7:32 R.I.P. Old Otis lift
Well the old Otis never worked and was useless anyway!

13:35 - CPR stands for “Cardiopulmonary resuscitation”.

Long live elevator enthusiasts.
the thing that made me enthusiastic about lifts is this video
3:05 The 5th elevator(Elite elevator) has on the skyscrapersim lift simulator
I like your intro and outro but the elevators is so nostalgic when I see some elevators I record don't forget
I really enjoy watching your Videos there awesome Beno! (:
I love it when i find old loud platform lifts on youtube Beno do you think you could do that
CPR actually is a medical procedure, for those who don't know.
yeah, these signs are a very kind and friendly invitation for me to film the lifts
2:15 probably was a platt Schindler before gettin bodged by thyssenkrupp (thyssen)
The lift at 15:21 looks like an Oakland lift. I don't know why the door close buzzer sounds like a fire alarm.
11:01 What Do you Mean
2020 Anyone.😎😎😎😎😎😎
Chemical which can kill
10:02 this time, let’s go into the spooky bassment.
Best one ever ben! why was you in hospital and why were you up to mischief in the night?
BENO!!!! I WANT THE OLD LIFT BACK!!!!
Don't blame Beno, blame the stupid company who replaced that nice old gated lift with a *STUPID* Generic!
Geno I love the spooky staircase
0:39, Do the elevators still go up or down if that happens?
Lifts can only move if the safety circuit is complete
you could surf the lifts to get to the locked floors
7:42 fart time 😂😂😂 17:13 again 4:45 looks like a Oakland lift
I agree. there's one like it in Ipswich and the h+c lift near me I've got a feeling may be modernized soon due to clarity of button issues a long term broken floor indicator and a potential safety issue.
jdtayloruk tbhbj,xn
3:43 there's no "Ba-donk" on no where?
beno : can you make a video of the lift couldn't get in :-)
Umm the bed does the same thing as cambridge hospital
In the middle of the night, a lift filmer wakes up!
😂 that’s so funny when Beno says but it’s locked off grrr
7:42 FARRRRRRT

Do You Get Hurt? (The Vein Is On Your Arm)
As there’s an MRI scanner above the red painted line, nothing made of metal can go above the red painted line.
The lifts here are pretty cool
12:44 DRILLING SOUND!
Theres a set of Thyssen Elevators in Lowell General Hospital but Thyssens are a lot more rare here
3:16 You can see someone coming out of the wing :O
Yes I did that’s creepy beno ur in trouble lol
Beno did I hear the telephones?
The lift with the siren? I think it was most li8kely to be Oakland.
10:33
If before the bassments were spooky, that’s nothing compared if what’s next.
The Telescopic 3 lift goes 5 miles per second
The doppler lift looks like a KONE Ecodisc
GRRRRR!!! 6:44 😡
I WANT THE OLD LIFT BACK!!! 7:08 🤬
GRRRRR!!! 7:31 😠
And now to the next lift with context of my old gated lift with a: STUPID GENERIC! Used go be liftec release of the modernized lifts! But if dosen't WORKING!
At 6:28, the previous picture looked like a KONE EcoSpace/EcoDisc.
Modernized: STUPID GENERIC
And now...
It’s time for my next IV
