      I really like seeing how your coffee making routine change over time! Can’t comprehend all those negatives comments. I hope you will continue to show us different way to make a coffee without feeling pressured about absolute perfection like some seems to claim but more what you fancy at the moment. A device that help not to spill ground coffee everywhere and more is by no means extravagant nor shocking, especially if it is fun to use!

    I love this channel
    I'm confused about the comments complaining about this one, as a barista I can definitely see how my workflow would be improved and my extractions as well.
    Our little cafe is not doing great and we don't have the best of equipment. Our grinder spits out clumpy coffee grinds, this thing would fix that and would fit neatly into my existing workflow replacing my dosing cup.
    I have to wonder if the people complaining are into coffee

    • @TheGreensmith
      @TheGreensmith 2 года назад +8

      I think you're right, I'm not sure if people realise quite how much has already been invested. Ryoya roasts his own beans sometimes!
      Of course this isn't for if you have a cheap coffee machine and setup, nor did he ever make the assertion that it's a mandatory pre-requisite for good coffee.

    • @user-bv7mk8id5t
      @user-bv7mk8id5t 2 года назад +4

      Well I thought for a second maybe my dad would be into this. He has his fancy expensive machine and loves his espresso. But I could hear him complaining and asking what’s the point. Plus this little gadget is pricey. Maybe in a busier setting it could be useful, but for one person and 1 espresso seems a bit much.
      But for me I only watched because I just like seeing his calm videos, so he could show his pricey gadgets all he wants, I’ll still watch.

    • @TheGreensmith
      @TheGreensmith 2 года назад +3

      @@user-bv7mk8id5t I could see my dad totally reacting in the same way!
      This is vastly overengineered and unnecessary, you could get the same effect much cheaper bu one thing to point out is the maker of this product are in the real premium end (EG1 is like $4000+) so the market is much more tolerant of mark up.
      As a gift idea there's a bunch of ethical coffee subscriptions which could be nice. I use Pact coffee in the UK every few months to spice things up, you get a nifty card with origin and even name of the farmer!

      I love the dude but he has done embedded product placements, aka "sponsors" without saying it's a sponsor, so that's people are wondering if he's being disingenuous sometimes.
      To his credit, it's a seamless and creative way of advertising and maintains the integrity of his experience on the channel.

    I use the Blind Shaker that came with the EG-1, I still recommend using RDT and WDT along with it. Blind shaker alone still doesn't break the small coffee clumps as much and causes channelling just like seen here in the vid.

    • @Ascaron1337

      So basically it is a useless gimmick to serve the fancy "elitism" around this hobby :)

    • @NB-tv4cr
      @NB-tv4cr 2 года назад +3

      @@Ascaron1337 actually it’s pretty useful as a dosing cup where it prevents grinder spillage and portafilter accident mess quite well. Not the best distribution tool but it became my everyday go to. Maybe it’s kinda mandatory with my EG-1 OR may be its the ritual I love and the bell like sound it makes every morning calling in my family for a cup of their warm Latte.

    • @Ascaron1337
      @Ascaron1337 2 года назад +4

      @@NB-tv4cr I understand the ritual part, I give you that.
      The other arguments, tho.. I mean a 80$ dosing cup, really? I am not even close being short of money, yet that sounds plain bonkers. And I have no idea how you normally put your grinded coffee in, but spillage never was a problem for me.
      Let's agree to disagree. I still think it serves no real purpose, except feeling better or elite while making coffee. But if it adds to your coffee experience, I am absolutely fine with it and I wish you many great cups of fantastic coffee :)
      Just keep it for the next 20 years, because otherwise is was nothing but a fancy contribution to the worlds aluminium waste pile (this is the main fear I have with this kind of gadgets - most people will use it for a year or two and then throw it away)

    • @NB-tv4cr
      @NB-tv4cr 2 года назад +2

      @@Ascaron1337 thanks for your opinion and reply. Personally once in the specialty coffee arena, I wouldn’t actually call an 80 dollar tool a luxury or Elite in anyway comparing specialty coffee beans and equipment can get really really expensive. Though 80 dollars, I agree its a bit expensive for a cup but I understand Weber is a small company and they did invent this on their own costs and had to market it and taking in all the risk of failing. Today there’s many many cheap knock offs that copied exactly the same design, listed everywhere for 10-15 dollars. I’m sure Weber wouldn’t be too happy from these cheap copycats and I was happy to pay the premium to support and help them out. It’s these people that invented and brought us better things in life. I kinda appreciate their business and feel my money is well spent.
      For the usage part, it’s not totally a waste, I use the Niche Zero dosing cup that also came along with the Niche grinder and it works in similar fashion, getting coffee from the coffee bag onto the scale then from that to the grinder and eventually in the portafilter without any mess. Its a great way of dosing coffee, you will understand this if you grind coffee on a regular basis and have tried the dosing cups. The Weber cup gives an additional to the Niche Zero Cup as it also helps as a distribution tool too. Not the best as I mentioned but many times I can skip WDT method because the cup distributed it well enough.
      Thanks for the good wishes, maybe one day with fantastic coffee I make for you we can have good fun talking bout this never ending subject.

    I am by no means hating on this product or whatsoever, but one thing I am curious about is how does it actually work?
    My confusion stems from 2:14 where he says it helps to distribute the beans evenly, which makes sense cos it helps to reduce gaps between particles. But then in 2:22, you have to remove that piece and it causes the beans to be unevenly distributed again.
    I read through other comments and someone made a point that it helps to break lumps apart by shaking, but is that it?

    • @caezariobudikurniawan4601
      @caezariobudikurniawan4601 2 года назад +1

      Yes this tools made for declump. Not to distribute evenly, there is tool for distribution named OCD. Clumping ground can affect the shot because clump can make uneven extraction and channeling.
      Sorry for my bad english

    • @3ede467
      @3ede467 Год назад

      The blind shaker is actually more of a distribution tool than the OCD that just levels the surface of the puck and leads to uneven density. The thing about the blind shaker is that it should be considered as a particle distributor as it mixes the grounds and distributes fines while shaking. That on the other hand doesn’t mean that grounds are evenly distributed in the basket, they are just mixed well.

      I would recommend either a French Press (you need slightly coarse grind) or Bodum Vacuum Coffee Maker. We have used both and currently use Bodum only. If both are too bold (no oils are filtered out), the easiest pour over is if you get a porcelain coffee dripper and some paper filter. There are lots of resource online about how to use any of them. But these three are in my opinion cheap and easy to use. Some practice to get the water temperature, type of coffee, and coffee grind right is the only thing you need to get a great cup of coffee.

      Its about cleanliness rather then flavor. Some grinders spin really fast and create static. As the coffee comes out of such a grinder it can go all over the place and make a mess. A lot of people with such grinders just spray a tiny bit of water on the beans before grinding which eliminates static.

    JBC2019年で石谷さんも使用されてましたね!気になったのはこのツールはディストリビートするものなのでしょうか?

    もぅ、リョーヤ殿ったら〜、コーヒー関連の紹介動画久しぶりなんだから〜♪
    ディストリビューターって言葉を初めて知りましたが、それは大きいですね🤣
    たしかに粉はこぼれなそうですし、淹れるまでの時間を愛でる意味でも、次の一杯を楽しみにする意味でも、最高なんじゃないでしょうか😁
    今回のディストリビューターに限らず、新アイテムあったら動画で教えてくださいよ〜🤗
    プロモーション警察の人達が多いから無理かな〜🤣
    いろんな人がいますけど、RUclips動画出すのを嫌いにならないでくださいね🥺
    僕は動画アップしてくれるのを楽しみに生きてますんで👍
    Coffee一緒に飲みたいわ〜🥳

    ダンピングした後の蓋みたいなものはなんというものですか?
    お手入れが楽になっていいなと思ったんですが。

    What espresso machine did you use in this video? I noticed it wasn’t a large machine like most

      It's the Flair 58, if you look up his coffee setup video from a few months back he goes into more detail about it!

      @@djpelisek Thanks, I appreciate it! I’ve wanted to get a proper espresso machine (I have the Ninja Coffee Bar) but just don’t have a place for anything bulky!
