That's some really nice coffee. I like the making process. In Germany we mostly drink filtered coffee. I personally use a "Bayreuther Kanne" with a porcelain filter, it makes a really mild coffee. Also Im using beans from a roaster nearby. Next thing Im getting is a bialetti moka, really liked the taste when I was in Italy. edit: Oh and btw for all the people complaining about the way he drinks his coffee: The video is not titled "how to make an original italian coffee". So keep that in mind. He's showing the process from roasting to the finished product perfectly and demonstrates the machine nicely. The top voted comments are really toxic in here. You are freaking out about the last 30 seconds of a really good video where the only thing missing is how he grows and harvests the beans on his own with love... Well maybe we will see him someday visiting a coffee farm, would appreciate that :)
MELINDA ADAMS Same! The way the pressure gauge was seated didn’t seem right to me. The roller on the lever almost went over the edge of the pressure gauge.
This comment section is so ridiculous and ignorant. It's not a rule to drink espresso pure. In fact, espresso is the base for a lot of different coffee drinks/recipes. What he made was an Americano which is officially an espresso with added hot water. Other well known espresso drinks would be cappuccino & latte macchiato. One of the beauties of coffee is that there is a huge amount of variation! And everyone can drink their coffee the way he/she likes it the most and trying out new things is also super interesting. I do it all the time. There's literally no end to possible ways of enjoying coffee. And every recipe leads to a different experience. There's not one right coffee experience. Coffee is known and loved around the whole world and different countries have different ways of drinking coffee, and that's great! And if Italians get offended by what he did, as everyone here is saying, well that's their problem... sure, espresso was invented in Italy... but coffee doesn't belong to them. I like their coffee culture and the coffee you drink in Italy is amazing, I know that. But without the 50+ countries where coffee grows and all their farmers, no one would ever have any coffee at all. Italy imports their coffee exactly as most countries do so. And espresso is just one out of dozens of brewing methods around the world and everyone is free to explore different recipes from different brewing methods. People that are saying "he destroyed an espresso" are simply ignorant and think they know it all better. And I'm not sure how far you even thought... but I hope you know that basically 98% of a cup of coffee is water. Brewing coffee is literally extracting coffee aroma into water. Water is a HUGE part of coffee. So the comparisons you're all making are complete non sense. An espresso which is literally brewed with water is not destroyed by adding more water. It leads to another experience and may change the taste, sure, but that‘s not a bad thing. It‘s just a different thing.
The title is not "how to make an Italian espresso". He was just making a cup of coffee he loves. The expression of disappointment is fine, but accusing him of ruining an espresso is inappropriate.
Yeah man, there's a lot of ways of using a horse too. You can ride it either forwards or backwards, sitting on it on the manner you want.BUT!!!His dick always will be between his legs, you can't just put him between his ears and pointing to whatever you want, right? So, remember, when the italians speak about espresso, the rest of the world just stay quiet.....

ahahahah... I used to have friends like this. When I would come to their houses they would show me their very sophisticated sound system full of electrostatic loudspeakers and mounted on a stone slab record players, all by astronomic prices which they were always very proud to mention "en passant"... Through out the night we would easily feel that they were a lot more into the expensive "sound systems" than for actually the music (that sometimes even would sound worse on their expensive stereo with a single volume knob standing as minimalist out of this world coool, that on my less than 1/3 of the price stereo that so many years of acoustic pleasure playing the music I love (yes I love the music not the stereo) delivered. Most f the people I meet working around "special" coffee gear, are like this, in reality what fascinates them (and that so much profit gives to the industry of expensive coffee gadgets producers), in the end it's not the coffee itself.... it's the competition for the most elaborated "ceremonials" for a cup of coffee that they live for... And I tested myself when with one of these manual coffee makers I just served some of my friends the cheapest coffee I had (really bottom crap).... Oh... the specialised hymns about the quality of the coffee and the technic details on temperatures and coffee grounds and soils and the different production "methods".... (really beautiful) I blew it in the end when I showed them the 4 euros a kilo coffee pack🤣

Tips: Add rigidity to the machine by using the screw/bolt that comes with it to fasten the handle mechanism to the base. I use the filter with the bigger openings at the top, smaller under. Also, hot water from the pre-heat into my cup/shot-glass to preheat the cup while i'm prepping the rest of it. Right before you pull the shot, empty the cup. I also assemble on the flair instead of moving it with the hot water, less chance to have a mess.

Ok now, lets clean this floor very very carefully. Lets use this expensive cleaning machine. Yes all clean and tidy. 0% bacteria, all cleaned. *SHITS ON FLOOR*

This video is part informative, part performance art
Step one: prepare the soil. Step two: plant coffee. Step three: irrigate coffeeplants. Step four wait until beans can be harvested. Step five: harvest beans...
😆👍

Step 724: Collect a bucket of rain water...
Step 1786: dump substance into cup and dilute with a lot of water, before tasting the long anticipated end product.
Step 1787: document.

I like how the handle creaks and flexes like it's about to shear off. Very robust
I don't thiks he uses Robusta coffee.
He would have saved time by flying to Naples to drink a proper coffee

I love the dedication this man has put in just to make a coffee.
some people love to critisize... i admire the patience of this man.
Wonderfully creates a magnificent artisan espresso with painfully roasted beans from Hawaii while capturing it with rock solid video skills. Continues with turning it to an Americano like a psychopath. #artisanhipsterpsycopath2019
Yes. I subbed immediately.
defdac LOL!!!!!
Also, that multi-step press debacle.... wtf. $230 seems like a lot for a machine that does the exact same thing as a $20 Aeropress.
@@silvermediastudio right on. But I was entertained, so... *shrugs
@Jack Holly how about tasting the espresso and see if the new espresso machine was any good at making one?

i can see myself slipping and launching a whole glass of espresso at the wall
Its refreshing to see a young person enjoying the process instead of focusing on speed. Congrats to you and thank you for sharing your personal space. By the way, ignore the haters.
‘Haters’? If all the comments had been as bland as yours it wouldn’t have been half as entertaining.
So great! Good Job Barista RYOYA T., How To find this good an Espresso machine?
it made me laugh, he spent almost ten minutes preparing an espresso and then he literally killed it drowning it with all that water!

Tnx for subtitling as suggested by me. Aren't u adding any milk & sugar???
Thought the machine was going to break. Lol
MELINDA ADAMS Same! The way the pressure gauge was seated didn’t seem right to me. The roller on the lever almost went over the edge of the pressure gauge.
MELINDA ADAMS 😂
He did break it I'm pretty sure the plunger wasn't seated right. You hear a cracking noise around 07:40 🤣
I just received my shipment of soil form the hills of Colombia so i can grow my own coffee 🤪
Well that would be, let say, a year long video on youtube...

and some cocaine
for all those complaining about adding water, it's called americano or long black, and it's quite popular in Asia
I dont speak Italian but even I know they're talking about that water you added to your coffee.
All that excellent and time-consuming work for an espresso, just to turn it into an americano in the end.... I am baffled!
I've seen this video a while ago, and that still bugs me
He enjoys pizza with pineapples.
once I ate kebab with pineapples, It was interesting taste: spicy, salty, sweet, meaty
worse: he'd get italian flour, home grown tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, prepare a $2000 wood-burning oven, and THEN put pineapple and chicken on the pizza
@@mipmip5759 So what? Absolutely nothing is wrong with liking pineapples or chicken on a pizza. There is no right or wrong just because some forever yesterdays think that the traditional way is the only way on earth.
Dendrix Garcia He probably uses an Italian pizza stone and aged cheese and dumps canned pineapple on it.

(really beautiful)
I blew it in the end when I showed them the 4 euros a kilo coffee pack🤣
after watching this, the real question is *"do i need it?"*
I don't own any espresso machine, so my answer is, "Yes!" I love non-electric brewing methods.
Just buy an Aeropress and build a frame for it using wood or something... same thing
That's how I feel after the bean roaster
yes! i have one and they are awesome! also about the aeropress; close! this machine can easily get 9bar for crema-y espresso; the aeropress typically comes in around 1-3 if im not mistaken :)
Only for a niche group, those with a bit more time and wish to have a decent cup of coffee. Would like to acquire a set of this myself.

This is amazing machine. Where can i get one? Oh BTW, your hand roast the coffee bean is unbelievable, you are truly a coffee lover😆cheers mate!
Pasta machine is still machine but with no power. I'd assume this one is called a machine too!
sure...even a knife is called a simple machine.
Well, machines does not necessarily need electrical power to use them. So yeah, it's a legit coffee machine.
Is there a reason to use the filter with the bigger openings at the top?
@@nizhu4499 Not sure if it is legitimate or not, but I picture it like having a funnel, it allows a wider area to be forced into a narrower cone and through the hole, creating more pressure. Hope that makes sense.
