I had heard about the game years later. I played Last Crusade, Monkey Island, Sam & Max, and Full Throttle. But somehow this one escaped my knowledge. Thanks for telling me about it.
Well again our taste in games align my friend, I just replayed this about a month ago! Had the original on the Amiga since 1995, owned it till about 6 months ago when I had to sell most of my old games/systems to make space for potential growing family. Rebought it on gog, such a brilliant game
Well done, a really comprehensive video! F.o.A. is one of the premium adventures of the golden adventure age from the beginning to the middle of the 90s with an equal quality like the first 2 Monkey Island games and I like it very much.
The best thing about the franchise of Indiana Jones is the educational value about the 20th century and all of the historical figures in the stories. The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones are brilliant. I never was able to play these old Indiana Jones games and I'm glad they are on Steam now. Highly recommended.
Wow, thanks. This, to me was the best point and clicker from the 90's. You have inspired me to go back and play it again. I may even be stupid enough to play the Amiga version like I did back in the day.
Hey, man -- loved this video! I didn't have a PC in the early-mid 90's, so I missed this game. Thanks to your retrospective, I have just ordered Staff of Kings (on Wii) in hopes of playing both that game and Fate of Atlantis with my kids this summer. As you say, they just don't make 'em like this any more (movies or games)... Cheers!
My pleasure, mate! Loved making this video! :) It brought so many memories from those awesome glory days of point n click graphic adventures ;) Cheers! Hope you enjoy Staff of Kings! Have a great weekend!
Quanta Nostalgia... Abraço e ótimo fds!
Sim, sem dúvida! Da Sierra vieram grandes obras de arte! Adoro, por exemplo, o King's Quest VI. O meu favorito da saga ;) Grande abraço, Luis! Obrigado por assistires! Boa semana!
thank you so much for this video, what in amazing game!ii have played this than i was 12 jears old also 1993 with 12 diskettes and only one floppydrive and i still love this game! thank you so much for those nostalgisch reverenc...
11:32-12:18 From what I've researched, that's only a quarter of the reason it was cancelled. If your interested I'm working on a video explaining why the next gen Staff of Kings game was scrapped.
been playing this recently, it's ok but a bit slow going at times, very hard to work what to do when flying the balloon and driving the submarine. didn't think the 4th film was too bad, it was just as silly and over the top as the previous ones, did have a better story than last crusade at least, an immortal knight guarding the grail was too much. anyway almost finished this game, might have try out the other paths
Yeah, the baloon and submarine sequences are quite tricky. My favorite movie from the series is still the Last Crusade followed closely by Riders of the Lost Ark ;) Thank you so much for watching and for leaving your comment! Appreciate it! Have a great week!
@@itsaPIXELthing even watching a walk though on youtube i still couldn't get the submarine moving properly.. did it eventually but yikes.. haha Temple of Doom was always my favourite, :D
Planned sequels After the release of the game, a story for a supposed successor in the adventure genre was conceived by Joe Pinney, Hal Barwood, Bill Stoneham, and Aric Wilmunder. Titled Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix, it was set after World War II and featured Nazis seeking refuge in Bolivia, trying to resurrect Adolf Hitler with the philosopher's stone. The game was in development for 15 months before it was showcased at the European Computer Trade Show. However, when the German coordinators discovered how extensively the game dealt with Neo-Nazism, they informed LucasArts about the difficulty of marketing the game in their country. As Germany was an important overseas market for adventure games, LucasArts feared that the lower revenues would not recoup development costs, and subsequently canceled the game. The plot was later adapted into a four-part Dark Horse Comics series by Lee Marrs, published monthly from December 1994 to March 1995. In an interview, Barwood commented that the development team should have thought about the story more thoroughly beforehand, calling it insensitive and not regretting the cancellation of the title. Another follow-up game called Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny was planned, which revolved around the Spear of Longinus. Development was outsourced to a small studio, but eventually stopped as LucasArts did not have experience with the supervision of external teams. Elaine Lee loosely reworked the story into another four-part comic book series, released from April to July 1995.
Thanks for the excellent video! What is the cheapest way to get this gem from my childhood to operate now? Do I have to buy the old pc and eBay the original game? I only have a MacBook laptop for now.
You have the game on Steam for around 5 Euros and over at gog.com for a bit more, DRM free. You can search online. Various sites supports playing the game on a browser, but I believe that it's the version without voice acting, only subtitles. Hope that helps! :)

Part of this game pass in Portugal :)
This has been a favorite game of mine for almost 30 years. It's amazing how much the lore of the story has stayed with me after all that time.
I had heard about the game years later. I played Last Crusade, Monkey Island, Sam & Max, and Full Throttle. But somehow this one escaped my knowledge. Thanks for telling me about it.
Seriously? Go play it right now! :)
Very nice, this game is likely my favourite point and click adventure game :) Worth trying out the MT-32 option with Munt emulator, it's spectacular.
Have to try it ;) Thanks for your feedback, Phil!
Enjoy the weekend! Cheers!
