Besides the blue final goal card (which is based on stamp positioning), I believe some of the goal cards score points based on how many separate contiguous groups of stamps you have that contain stamps of 1 theme or 1 color. This is another example of where positioning matters. Especially because later in the game, as you get more stamps, your groups merge together, earning you less points for these goals.
Some sets of contest cards will definitely provide a tougher spatial puzzle. A house rule might allow folks to ensure they have a couple with social requirements like the one you described.
