Making EASY MONEY from the JUNKYARD!!

- One man's trash is another man's treasure. It's become my habit to get everything I need from the junkyard for free, just by grabbing something I can resell for a profit while I'm there. This trip is no exception, not only did I get the parts I needed, I came home with some extra's that I can easily resell at a substantial profit, and they took me less than 30 minutes to get!! You can do it too, you don't need a big budget to build projects, you just need some know how!

No way you found all 4 wheel caps that’s awesome!
Crazy right!?!?!
Most people are there buying parts to fix their vehicle they just buy what they need.
Yes I understand that, I just wish they wouldn't ruin everything attached to what they need in the process. Especially for transmission parts.
Man my local pull a part yards have been picked over and over same thing each time I wished I had more of a variety lol. Good finds tho!
I hear that a lot. I think it depends on where you're located and how many yards there are. And if you're willing to travel, I've driven over an hour to get to a yard that has what I want.
@@MohawkMotors my only issue is some yards have maybe one thing I can use, and it’s either overpriced or already destroyed. How do you find good yards?
visit more of them. If they have an online inventory check that first. But the best way to get the good stuff is get out there and look around. I've never been to a yard where I couldn't get something I needed, or get something at junkyard prices that I could sell for a profit.
Love from Morocco bro 🙌
Thank you!
@@MohawkMotors you're welcome brother 🙌 i hope you have a amazing day ^-^ God bless you.
Sadly I see destroyed stuff in the junkyards all the time. Around these parts, they completely destroy back seat and interiors looking for those lost nickels and dimes.. For some unknown reason they also clean out the fuse blocks.. every one of them.. why? I’ve mentioned this many times to the pimple faced kid at the shack when I’m leaving, but they just sit and stare.. they couldn’t care less. I’m sure the owner would freak out. Also I’m seeing more and more idiots taking dumps in the yard.. they typically go in vans and suburbans and let it rip. WTF is up with that? Again.. no one seems to care.
Yeah, it's frustrating seeing what were really nice, useable parts, destroyed by someone to get a $3 sensor or like you said, for some spare change.
The fuse block I don't get either, if you need a few fuses sure, but who needs all 56 fuses and 7 relays? I think people just fill their pockets with whatever they can to feel like they're getting one over on the yard.
Dumps in the yard, especially in the back of vehicles is freaking disgusting. People are animals when they're not monitored.
lmao
where do you sell this shit? craigslist and facebook marketplace?
Facebook marketplace mostly
Pull the transmission pan to see if it's worth taking.
As long as they're intact they're worth taking as cores for me
Junkyard content is cool, interested in seeing the power seat trick you mentioned. Subbed 🤘
Thanks for the sub! Here's the link for the power seat video ruclips.net/video/e-TmO2MTHTA/видео.html
man.. lets team up and grab some 6.0s outta there. 4 hands would make quick work!
I'd be down! I bet we could get 3 or 4 in one day
@@MohawkMotors that'd be wild! would make for a good timelapse video lol
I’d really like to see how you do the tcase input swap, and what part numbers you use.
I'll be sure to do a video on it!! Probably very soon, it's garage season!
Way cleaner than the two Virginny yards I've been to with a neighbor.
Down Stafford way.
Might have to get one of those Gorilla carts.
Most of the yards I;ve been to have been pretty decently clean. The Gorilla cart is a game changer!
Do you have any tips on how to pull 6.0/5.3/4.8 or 4l80e from the junkyard easy/quick? Or can you do a video on how to do it.
Yeah man, cut all the hoses, they're junk anyway, unplug all the connectors, it's easier than cutting the harness, then it's just motor mounts, bellhousing bolts and exhaust. Biggest tip is remember, the guys there before you didn't care what you needed when they cut their parts out with a sawzall, so don't worry about messing up the stuff you don't need, hoses, core support, radiator, cab, etc. 2wd trucks are the easiest to pull engines and transmission out of, then 4x4 trucks, then vans.
Hi how you sale the stuff you got from the junk yards please? Thank you
I just listed it for sale on facebook marketplace.
What’s your motto on the 6.0 in the junkyard? If it spins it wins? Or do you test them somehow? Love your channel. I’ve been subscribed for a while.🔥🔥🔥🔥
For junkyard engines, if it's crashed and the engine spins it's good to go. If it's not crashed, but the engine spins, you can feel compression when you turn it, and the oil isn't glittery, it's good to go. Appreciate the subscription and watching!!
@@MohawkMotors ok thanks for the tips bro!!!
Does anyone have experience with selling GM Dash pad? I see they sell for several hundred on eBay. My question is... Do they still sell if one or more of the dash clips are broken/missing? Or is it best to just skip listing it all together? Also, any insight on listing/shipping dash/dashboard assembly?
If you can get it out in one piece without any broken clips, cracks, peeling color, etc, and you have a warehouse shelf to store it on until you find a buyer. In the 5 years I've been parting out the GMT 800 trucks and suvs I've sold 4 dash pads/covers and only for 60 to 70 dollars a piece. If people are actually selling them for several hundred on ebay (being listed, and actually selling, are very different things) it's got to be because they are reaching an international market. The next thing would be figuring out how to ship them without getting damaged, they are so brittle and fragile, 95% of them break just removing them from the vehicle.
8:03 probably because they are like me and dont have the money for brand new parts so they go to junkyard
In some cases I totally understand, but what in there are they taking? Solenoids? LKQ charges $40 each for them, new ones are almost the same price and you know they're good. Filters? Again new ones are under $20 and not already full of junk. I totally get that in some cases getting used parts from the junkyard makes total financial sense, but in the case of these 4l80's, which by the way, I can't see any parts missing from, I just don't understand it.
@@MohawkMotors well I took a governor pressure solenoid for a 46re and they gave it to me but that was a junkyard named u pull it
@@MohawkMotors idk about filter I wouldn't take a filter from there unless I got the whole transmission but you are right the filter is cheaper brand new than getting one from there... MAYBE THE FILTER WAS NEWER AND THEY GRABBED IT
damn what a nice junkyard , urs isn like that at all haha
Nope, not anymore!
More less , how much its a cable driven trottle body? Like 2000 gm
I'm sorry I don't understand your question?
@@MohawkMotors @ a trottle body? Cable driven, u have any
I have a stock one, complete with IAC and TPS $50
Hey I live next to this lkq in mt airy
Awesome! Wish I lived that close!
@@MohawkMotors lol I’m. 3 min away
@@rodknockreese Oh wow, I had this video on and was just listening to the guy while I checked out the comments and didn't realize it's Mt. Airy. I go there often myself. I am a half hour away up in Hampstead. Wow, small world sometimes!
Take parts off of things like transmissions so that no one will buy it and you can come back later.
Would depend on if I can remove a part that makes it useless to someone else, without inviting risk of it becoming useless to me.
That's diabolical 😂
@sammymaestro7642 also keeping a paint marker on you to write "knocks" on the windshield so you can come back for it later is too...
Love these videos
I love making them, going to try to get another visit in next weekend, hopefully there will be some more treasure!
@@MohawkMotors - Wish I could come too, I would be way worse than a fat kid in a candy store.....which oddly enough is also me! LOL
The easy way to move electric seats is to take a drill/impact battery take wires to jump it to the car itself. I do that when I need a small amount of power to get what I need.
Yeah can do that, I actually made a video on how to move power seats with a drill battery also.
@@MohawkMotors oh nice.
