As a teenager, I went with my family to a church service where they asked the congregation to write things we were grateful for on a piece of paper, then the Reverend read them aloud. I wrote "Empire Records". The teenage boys sitting in front of me totally got it, and I felt validated 🤣
This was my favorite movie as a child...and its still my favorite movie as an adult... Empire Records will always be the best.... The Fat Man always walks alone 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Empire records is a fantastic movie and it has a great cast, also great music and a lot of great action in it. One of my all-time favorite movies ever. I would definitely would love to work in a place like this, who wouldn't.

I know that's supposed to be funny, but there are plenty of record stores still around. Not as common as they once were, no, but if you look even just a little bit you can find them.
Been watching this shit since I was ten. Two decades and change later, I'm still trying to make it my life. (Although weirdly, whereas I once wanted to be Lucas, now that I'm older and trying to be a manager, I find myself emulating Joe more cus I wanna be able to foster this kind of environment.)
I was in high school the first time I saw this movie and was introduced to it through an upperclassman in my Film class who was a big fan of it. At the time, I worked in a video store and I was totally a Mark type of character!
Ya know what’s remarkable…this set was 1995…and somehow they knew to portray that the younger generation of teens (Warren) would be stealing music & if they stop them…it’s only going to get worse. & looking at the _Big Picture;_ this movie’s about losing a mom & pop _(so-to-speak)_ record store to a national chain…there’s no way they could’ve totally seen what was about to happen (Napster & CDRW Drives becoming mainstream) because it kinda setup for a sequel by giving Warren & Jane Jobs… but by 2005 RUclips had replaced MTV as the spot for music videos
I never understood the cult following of this movie. I remember going to see it because of Liv Tyler. The music probably saves it from being one of the worst movies ever, but it's pretty bad.
Yet here you are, in 2021, watching clips on youtube (25 years post-release) and leaving comments..... This movie is phenomenal, and hilarious. Just admit that you like it, my dude. We do too. We won't judge.
I think if you didn't like the movie, don't waste your time looking it up, watching a clip and dissing it... If you didn't like it we don't care... My mother always said, if you don't have anything nice to say just be quiet...
I used to think Mark was silly when he screamed "Shoplift-AAAGH-aa-AAAGH-aa," but now I do retail security I can appreciate how he felt.
Haha and you see him as a serious FBI man in Eagle Eye 🤪

Agreed.

I Love this movie, yes it's not perfect but it's still really awesome
Perfect.....well no entirely perfect.
Needs to be longer.
The only 90s movie (about teenagers) better than this is “Dazed and Confused”. This film is nearly perfect, Dazed is actually perfect.
Its perfect. Its beyond perfection

I loved the Lucas-character! To me, he was Empire Records
I love when Joe asks Lucas what the money is doing in Atlanta and he answers "recirculating"
Can we agree that Lucas is definitely packing some heat in the first 10 seconds of this clip.
Omg I never noticed that before lmao
