Who wouldn't want to stay around co-wrokers/friends like those in the movie. Did you have any run-in's with shoplifter's, "Rex Manning's" or "Music Town's"?
Uncle to two teenagers and a three year old. Will show the youngest one this movie. That’s one of the joys for me. Since it’s me and my brother I either get to be the uncle who buys all the appropriate stuff or the one who buys everything you shouldn’t buy him (let’s be honest there’s one of each type of uncle in a family). So I buy all the stuff I shouldn’t. Plus I found a loophole. If my sister in law says no all I have to say is “sorry it’s a gift you can’t say no”. Wins every time
oh my god this is the best movie ever, not at all dated i'm fifteen and i fucking love it i put it on in the background like a cd and AJ is just such an unbelievable babe...
@SignalsOverTheAir Love Singles, the ridiculous big colorful earing, that everybody hates, the God bless you thing, the what took you so long scene, the boob obsession and the roommates fighting for "bicycle man" LOL, great movie I enjoy it everytime I watched!

@@chipdrusano It actually is. Who'd of thought 50 plus years since TV switched to color that there are some places in the world that are still watching in B&W.
In the real world Joe is fined an outrageous amount for saying "screw the permit" and selling beer (probably fined because I imagine a lot of minors ended up getting served) and is forced to file for bankruptcy.
Joe's most likely liked by everyone in the neighborhood, so he probably got off with a warning or nothing as most likely the cops showed up to the show and partied as well.
@@SignalsOverTheAir Most likely absolutely not. Cops and liquor inspectors don't let you throw late night parties producing a shit ton of noise on short notice with no permit all whilst serving alcohol to minors to raise revenue on which he most certainly will not pay tax on. I don't care how well liked you are in the neighborhood.
@@CrazyMunky84 None of the other neighbors and business looked to be complaining at all, the beer kegs probably came from the a local bar down the street.
@@SignalsOverTheAir You can order several kegs of beer from a local bar down the street on short notice? That's not how liquor sales work. My scenario of Joe getting fined (and probably the so called local bar down the street that is not authorized to resale alcohol in bulk to other sources given your scenario also facing severe consequences) is much more realistic.
@@CrazyMunky84 It's just a movie dude, chill. In reality the events of the film couldn't possible happen in just under 24 hours. The original script had the film taking place over almost a week, but was then combined to just one day in the final cut.

Id pay $80 for that Alice in Chains poster too.
I'd pay the same, probably even more if it was Dirt or the three legged dog.
same, AIC rules!
Gotta love Mark for just being Mark.
Mark saved the place man!
@@ryangee2150 Yes, yes he did. Wonder if he got a raise/promotion because of it?

clemenza1234 hell yeah, it’s a good one.
Ditto🤘
What is it?
Still one of my favorites from that time
You're never too young or old for this movie.
I used to have a Boss like Joe damn I miss that guy. I miss that Job too.
Did you have a Deb, AJ, Lucas, and Mark as well?
SignalsOverTheAir no. Haha if I did I would probably still be there 😀

Man so glad I went down the 80s/90s rabbit hole cuz this movie awesome !

You are nearly 30 now, I bet U are still a cool person
Plowed is really underrated
Sponge unfortunately is a very underrated 90's Alternative.
I miss Record Stores!!!
Luckily there’s one in my hometown. Been there for almost 6 years.
I probably watched this movie fifty times in the nineties. Movies are not rewatchable anymore!
Classics are always rewatchable.
WOW.... gotta love the 90's.... even if the movie's sucked.... they were still fun to watch & the soundtracks were awsome !!!!!! :),
Sponge - plowed!!!!!
the Breakfast Club of the 90's!
Empire Records had the better soundtrack than The Breakfast Club.
“Screw The Permit.”♥️♥️
Can't have fun with permits, they just get in the way
Mark is the ultimate hero here!
Mark saved the day
any pierce the veil fans here getting this recommended to you? lmao
Vic and the guys have good taste in music and want to share it with their fans.
Yup lol have no idea what movie this is from
I love the fact that Joe and the Rex manning manager fell in love Joe needed that and she did too 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Joe and Jane were meant for each other. Rex on the other hand was only meant for one person, himself.

Love the old ladies drinkin the beer.... classic..... look like they don't take crap either :) :)
i wish someone would it's like the best movie ever...
“Not on Rex Manning Day…” 🎹🤣
I have that scene from them setting up for Rex, but I can't upload it due to copyright restrictions.
best song from the movie !
Anyone got the name for the song during the montage?
Plowed - Sponge
Save the Empire, and I don’t mean “Star Wars”!
My bestie and I STILL say this!
It's one of the many memorable lines from the film.
I do NOT remember the "screw the permit" bit... Extended edition? MUST FIND!
I think it's in both versions, I ripped this from the Remix! Special Fan Edition back in 2006.
Joes look reminds me of judd nelson in the breakfast club
I can kinda see a resemblance.
When I was a kid I was so sure that they were the same person. Lol
I don't know about it being the best song over all, but it is a good tune none the less.
best ya

@angelitocurioso21 I watched Singles cause the soundtrack was awsome, but now I watch because it's a good movie as well.
by the way, i do not think 'plowed' is on the soundtrack.

I have a few in my area, but they are a dying breed.
It's not on the official soundtrack, but on a follow up import I think.

What movie is this?
Empire records
@angelitocurioso21 That it is. you can get as a double feature with Singles, another good underrated film.
Can you repost this in HD??
I can't as the movie is copyrighted, this clip is from the 2003 Remix DVD that I ripped for high school project back in 2006.
