New fans should take în consideration that RUclips was launched in 2005 . Yeah Old MVs dont have views like now but streaming was not a thing . People forget how new smartphones, wifi , and accesibile internet are . Fans in 2 gen had to go play detective on shady websites . Older artists views are also more natural . People didnt mass stream .
Yes exactly. I remember logging into my school computer in 2005 to watch Kpop MVs because I didn't have a computer at home! People think they can compare today's view count with the ones from 2nd Gen or so but don't take accessibility and streaming culture into account.
Preach! I just don't know how to explain to the armys anymore that 2nd gen would be huge like BTS if the access to internet before is like today. They wouldn't understand and will continue to disregard other groups for their comfort.
And also bts didnt do very well early on, but now the big fandom streams the old mvs to make them look bigger.

15:27 This was the OST for kdrama Goblin which was extremely popular and brought kdrama world closer to the broader audience, the song also became very popular in Korea and among kdrama enjoyers worldwide, I’ve seen a lot of memes and edits with it, but also people just really enjoyed it, hence the views. I think it’s fair to say it’s already a classic

Okay last comment lol. This specific ranking video frustrates me a little bit because as someone who was a fan at the time, I know that BTS were no where near the top watched MVs of 2013 or 2014, and even 2015 would be pushing it. But ARMY are one of the fandoms that is so good at streaming and going retroactive on the MVs, and so they've really boosted the numbers of all of BTS's MVs. Which is by no means a bad thing but it does heavily skew the actual top 10 of what was going on in that actual year.
And I also don't really believe that groups like Seventeen or TXT or Enhypen didnt have videos that hit 400M views in 21 or 22... those were huge years for those groups and their videos from those years have 800M+ views now. I don't think their fandoms have grown so much in the last 2 years to inflate numbers so I genuinely think that the ranks from this rankimg video are wrong.
@@Setres09 so true about BTS. Back in 2013/14 they were barely known outside S. Korea. Even in S. Korea they weren’t that popular - that wouldn’t happen for a while. If YT is publishing accurate streaming statistics broken down by dates, countries, verified IP addresses, etc, and they are available to be analyzed in a program like Tableau or PowerBI or some other data analysis program this is the only way to get trusted and accurate numbers.
The view # and rank are based the sum of the numbers at the time that creater made that video. Actual # of view and rank of each year were totally different.

Just to let you know this charting is not relevant as it doesnt really show the views on the year instead its the amount of view that accumalated throughout the years recently. So some of the mv wasnt actually popular during those years.
they got rid of ads in first 24 hours around 2019 so thats also why views dropped but the top groups still come out on top
