Btw all of those group are MAD FAMOUS. Bigbang for example is a very VERY SUCCESSFUL group. They were BTS's role model and respected seniors. FYI BTS wasn't always first, their early years was defeated by groups like exo. But they immediately were recognised for their talent and hard work few years after that. I know yall are excited for BTS and Blackpink cuz there are currently famous (actually they did amazingly breaking records) but honestly all of those group are famous too. Actually this video shows most view mvs TODAY. in 2013-16 the ranking would be totally different. For example in 2013, BTS music wasn't a hit, and was not that listened. Until I need u, and not even with that they were first.
Plus, there are groups like EXO that hit 1B in other plataforms since 2016, for example in china.

Most of kpop groups sound too similar and base their entire careers off of dancing, and more than 90% of kpop is ran by the Big 3 companies so their artists dont really wrote their own music, they just sing and dance when they're told and do what they're told. Actually these videos often aren’t showing what video was the biggest in that year. So it’s a skewed way of looking at it.
BTS weren’t that big in 2013-2014. They surely weren’t the biggest. Even when they started gaining real traction with I need U in 2015 they were still not the biggest. But because the ARMY got huge the views keep coming and accumulating over the years.
I’ve been a dan of them since 2014, so I saw them grow (in popularity).
But if it weren’t for some if the other groups mentioned I wouldn’t have known about them back then. Kpop is an amazing thing ❤️

BTS are the only ones who can fill stadiums anywhere in the world and sell albums like no other group. I love too much to see how his career is organic. They have all the titles and the fame they have very well deserved because they have made such an effort. they took a company out of bankruptcy and now it is one of the most prestigious. if I were bts I would always rub people what I have achieved with MY effort but they are humble and I am not bts yet, I am not humble. Sorry, but I have to disagree. I like BP, the girls are talented, the music is catchy, the MVs are fun to watch and.... that's it! Quality of what? The lyrics are pretty shallow. And unlike some other idols they have nothing to do with their music. You said THEY chose quality over quantity. Are they able to CHOOSE anything? They just do what their label tells them to do. I hope they'll change the label soon and show us their quality.

the number of views 2010-2021 is not from those exact years. the video editor has provided the rank of the clips so far. BTS hasn't always been popular. they received the main award (daesang) only in 2016. people started watching their old videos (2013-2016) only when they became famous (because they were from a small company), so they are currently in the top 10 of those years.
Yeah, i have noticed that the view count wasnt accurate. It is not collected at that specific year. The rank is a bit misleading to nonkpoppers

Not to discredit BTS (dw I love them) but just once I wish someone would check out lists reflecting the popularity at the time.
