I see a lot of comments about the hands not being aligned. I own the yachting version of this watch and the hands are easily aligned using either the app or the crown and pushers; the watch in the video was not set up correctly. I also see a lot of comparisons to cheaper watches. Well, there is no comparison. Comparing this watch to a cheaper brand is like comparing a Hundai to a Mercedes Benz; the construction and technology are worlds apart. As for the price? well, precision instruments are expensive, mass produced cheap watches are not. The Breitling superquartz will function flawlessly in sub freezing temperatures and Death Valley heat, a cheaper quartz watch will not. It is also a Certified Chronometer (the only quartz watch that is Certified by cosc) and is accurate to 8 seconds per year. A B55 is not for everyone, and that’s ok.

Problem 1: digital time and analog time do not match. 3s difference. not much but would make me go crazy. OK, could be corrected easily.
Problem 2. analog second hand does not hit the marks exactly. inexcusably.

Breitling should release official manual video on how to handle this beast. Yes this $9000 piece is either misunderstood or simply slightly lower in quality? For me I'd rather save up for the Breitling Superocean Heritage, the blue one looks stunning.
Ok video. Bit of a major point though - its not steel. Its titanium. (comes in titanium or black titanium)

A watch that sells for over $5000 where the second hand does not align with the markers is fit to be sold for $35.

Not acceptable for a $9,000 electronic watch.
The digital seconds don't match the analog seconds, the second hand doesn't hit the marks and the minute hand doesn't jump at 15 or 30 second intervals.
these might seem like little things to complain about but if you're planning to charge 9 grand for a watch you should get this right.

This is for people that have so much silly money that they buy this like you and I buy a Casio beater.

The solution is go to settings - synchronise. The reason the watch can do this is because if the battery depleted completely, the memory is lost. And so is the synchronisation.
Also, I just noticed, the second hand is not even set on the exact second. It is off by close to 1 mm. That is something that would be expected in a cheap fashion watch. I hope you return it and get one that is calibrated properly.
Second hand misalignment is completely unacceptable. But very happy with my 2006 Titanium Aerospace, now with Superquartz post Breitling Service.
This has the same problem that my emergency has ... the second hands don’t line up perfectly
Never owned a Breitling but my Oceanus has adjustable hands so that annoying "don't hit the marks" effect is likely just someone giving it a bump out of alignment and not fixing it. Same goes with 3 second disprepancy, someone played with settings.
Just an oversize Casio watch. If you buy the watch, learn to use the watch, not via a smart phone. With that price tag, go for a mechanical watch! Not to worry the whereabouts your charging cable is when you are travelling.
way way over price for so limited and hard to use without the app function.Don't mistaken , I own 4 breitling watches with some solid gold pieces , their dial design and attention to detail very very good ,above many of the same class ,but not this one sub par to many smart watchs in design (hands looks not proportion to watch style and color is off and tiny ,my cheap LUMI NOX multi function watch has hands the will automatically move away from the display windows when u push any buttons and returns later ,smart.)That charging magnet cord has so poor contact ,least to say they charge 8000$ for it and couldn't give u a better design cable like Asus Zen watch does.
I have the Garmin Fenix 5x Plus…. Does all that stuff and more, and a 1/10th the cost.

Old video, but note to anyone wanting to buy this on the used market, it only works with bluetooth 4.0 capable phones. Any iphone newer than the iPhone 7 will not connect to the watch. Iphone 8 through 14 are bluetooth 5.0 So, no app functionality. Only settings via the crown.
Nonsens. Mine works fin with BT 5.2!

The charger port on the watch is a massive step in the right direction from breitling.Had a few of the dual screen models & the battery life was shockingly poor plus the price breitling charge for renewing them is abit steep.
around 9K for - Battery Operated watch !!!!! OK I own the Aerospace and some other High end brands with Breitling I don't see the top quality (at least with aerospace specially after I saw what under the back case) For 9k I prefer to buy limited Grand seiko AUTOMATIC or spring drive that is a watch
If everything is controlled using a smart phone then why cant you use the phone for time keeping instead of this insanely expensive thing.
Good grief, what a disaster. How does the so-called review were not noticed how bad the seconds hand is? I have had many cheap bottom of the barrel quartz watches that are far better at ticking properly. And at $9000 the price is beyond ludicrous. It's criminal.
I had a difficult time figuring out how the crown works on my automatics. Let's see....unscrew the crown, position 1 wind the watch, pull out to position 2 quick set the hour hand (on the Omega), the date on the other automatics (the Omega is a no date), pull out to final position and hacking feature engages watch stops set the minutes and hour. WOW! Complicated enough. When my son got a triple date Omega Speedmaster that was a tricky one to learn, but fun to figure out. This Breitling thing requires an advanced degree in something technical and I don't get into such things. Nine thousand dollars?!?!?! That's how much I plan on spending on my next Rolex. I'll take the Rolex over this thing any day.

The problem is, that it cannot even called smart watch. It can connect to a phone, but that's it.
It is the same with the G-Shox GPS - people have to be stupid to buy this instead of an Apple Watch or Android Watch...

i wonder why they don't make two kind of battery so that even if the smart par of the watch runs out of battery, the remaining analog part still runs without being affected
I am disappointed that the second hand "jumps", instead of a smooth movement. For the price of the watch and the technology of Breitling, they certainly could have achieved this if they wanted.

can't see this being a popular offering. If you really want a digital watch why would you spend thousands more for something that does less than an apple watch?
Nice shade of blue for the strap.........the rest of the watch is pure garbage. For the second hands to not only fail to align (which is a disgrace for any watch over $500) but to not match with the digital time as well shows how much of a rip off this is.
All new Breitlings suffer from misalignment - whether it's misalignment of the dial, the markers or bezel, it is totally unacceptable especially for a watch bearing the Breitling name. Just check out the watches at your local Breitling dealership to see exactly what I mean or if you can't make it down there, look at the watches on their website where very few of the watches have alignment done correctly. Shame on Breitling.

Absolutely! My Avenger Bandit has a misaligned bezel that drives me crazy. When I brought to the attention of an AD, the staff dared to say that "cheaper models" are not as aligned as the more expensive models, and it's "within tolerances"!!

there is more technology and research involved in a casio protrek or some high end gshocks than in this...
And a traditional mechanical breitling surely retains its value more than this.

Breitling took too long to release this IMO. A year ago, it was exciting news, but now it looks out dated and overpriced. A shame really.
Breitling’s leadership is heading in the wrong direction with decisions such as this. I have two breitlings and I love them, but they need to think hard about how to compete with decisions like this. Pseudo smart watch at best. Might as well just use the smart phone as someone else said. Second hand doesn’t align. Strap is nice though with the micro adjustment being fairly easier than their other straps. Way overpriced.
As a pilot that likes Breitling, but spends time in the bush where no phones work, I would buy the Garmin D2 that does 10 times more for 10 times less, this is just a gimmick. I haven't seen a review of anything that inspires me NOT to buy something so much in a long time!!! Stick to what you are good at Breitling, this will be OUT of date before it is IN date

WTF, they charge $9k for a watch and can't even align the second hand properly. This better be a prototype. I saw the watch in person, it looks nice but ridiculously huge. The quartz thing I can understand since this is aimed at pilots.
Casio does all this for less than 10% of the price.

I love breitling.. but this is moronic. plus the second hand mismatch timing is infuriating and it's not future proof enough to justify the pricepoint. Unless this watch is so unsuccessful (should be) that these become collectable for rareness one day... these will be a garbage investment

What a piece of shit watch. Breitling makes some amazing watches but I've held this one in person and was not impressed. Felt very cheap. The seconds chrono hand not lining up is not acceptable.

My citizen skyhawk does this. Japanese make technology watches. Swiss make mechanical.

This is really stupid, I can go on with my Aerospace for 1/4th the price much better. Also, classic Ariel Adams review with him not having a clue about what he's reviewing...
I dont care how much lipstick you put on it, $8k for a digital watch is stupid! Just to service the damn thing costs $300 to $600, and guess what happens when they stop making that digital movement, hint: no repair possible. I am still trying to unload my 2006 Superquartz Breitling B1.
