    I also always carry a bag with me everywhere, if I don't have immediate access to water the second I feel thirsty or lipbalm the second my lips start to feel dry I will get ANXIOUS. A friend gave me her old cargo pants last year and yesterday I went outside without a bag and with my headphones, hand sanitizer, keys, phone, wallet, gum, lipgloss, lipbalm, sunglasses and a whole water bottle shoved into the side pockets. Not the most comfortable but it worked. Also I've rewatched a lot of your makeup related videos from 2019-ish as well as a lot of other stuff 'cause I'm getting more into makeup so I would be very excited about the makeup videos coming back

    Thanks for the chat love. Sending love to all of the fatherless girlies today. The only thing that made Father’s Day tolerable to me was having a child with my husband. He and our kid now get to suck up all of the energy of the day and I don’t have to dwell too much on my dad, which is better for me.

    i love librarians SO much.
    recently my family has saved up just enough money to visit Italy. one of my goals was to visit a library there, and since the national one Florence is not open to tourists right now, we decided to go to a little one near where we're staying. i can't speak any Italian, but i had been practicing how to say "i like the library" for the whole day, and after i was done reading a children's book that i couldn't understand, i went to the front desk and told the librarian
    "mi piace la biblioteca!" and she laughed and said thank you, and then told my dad -who can actually speak Italian- "i heard them whispering that to themself since they got here" and i felt to silly, but it was fun.

    My “father”, and I use that term loosely, passed away many years ago. I won’t go into what he was and what he did but Father’s Day has never had any meaning to me. I was always so envious of my friends growing up that had great fathers. I hope that while your Father was on this plane, that he was a good father and showed you all of the love that you deserve!! You are just incredible!!! Much love❤. PS…solo travel scares the literal shit out of me!! I don’t mind being alone at home or work or just running about doing errands but traveling alone??? No thanks!!! I watch to many crime shows about older women being abducted on some random trip they took!! The tote bag!!! I have what my grand daughter calls my “NannyBag” in my purse. It has 1,000 random things in it… tiny scissors, band aids, pads, even though haven’t had a period in 25 yrs, lip stuff, antibiotic ointment, thread and a needle, tweezers and various other articles of pure bullshit!!!😂😂😂

    So all our dads are just dead?? Love ur trout btw.
    I typed a whole ass paragraph about needing to remember emotional discomfort doesn't just stack up with no way to resolve it, and how sadness/fear of messing up/feeling stupid for going against your initial judgement about going out to gather experiences can be mended by taking breaks & telling your friends when you are worn out or overwhelmed, and how people don't have a set amount of happiness and a set amount of emotional telomeres (if ykwim) before you get seriously mentally unwell that you have to protect (because your happiness and mental wellness is sort of like spoon theory but with positive and negative emotions instead of gaining energy and losing energy instead of happiness/mental wellbeing being like a limited resource)... But it was schlocky so I deleted it. But I understand the idea because I have depression too and sometimes I'm afraid to do stuff that could drag me into stress and therefore worse depression. Anyways, I love you and your videos. I know around fathers day is tough for you so do some things that help you feel better.

  • @user-ko9bn3fw2e
    @user-ko9bn3fw2e Год назад

    My father has been abusive since I was 13. It may have started earlier, but 13 is when I could comprehend the change, that something wasn't normal and right. He's been mainly abusive to me and my mother, largely because by the time it started my older brothers were already out of the house and in college, and partially because we were women. Because the hatred and resentment he had for his mother translated onto us. My brothers know about this. Their wives know about this. But I'm expected to act as if it never happened. Daily. For over a decade. The status of their father as an abusive man is more disturbing to them than my status as a victim of his abuse, and so I am expected to acknowledge my pain, my distrust, and my trauma alone. I thought after having to do the same performance every father's day for 10 years that the rawness of all this was behind me, but sitting here talking with you (yes, in my head, this video is me and you talking) I realize that's not the case. Thank you for making space for the rawness of this holiday. I hope we both heal.

    I'm with you on carrying a big bag with everything in it! Here's a related silly anecdote from many years ago when I was in high school. One summer day, I went to a local theme park with my then-boyfriend and his best friend. Within the first 20 minutes we were there, we walked by this booth and the guy who worked there was desperately trying to get our attention to the point where it would have felt very awkward to ignore him. It turned out he was an age guesser, and he insisted on guessing our ages. If he was off by more than 3 years, the person whose age he guessed incorrectly would win a prize. He was close enough for boyfriend and me, but he guessed friend was way older than he actually was, purely on the grounds that he was tall, so he won a prize. Turns out the prize was a giant stuffed animal...which he then immediately asked me to carry because "hey, you're a girl! You can just put it in your bag, right?" It didn't even fit all the way in my bag. So I spent the entire rest of the day quietly, and at times not so quietly, resenting him as I carried around this prize none of us wanted as a memento of our uncomfortable social interaction with the age guesser dude. Side note, that was the same day I got my thighs sandpapered to all hell on this one ride because apparently at no point during the design, construction, or testing of the ride did they ever have anyone wearing short shorts sit on the seat to discover that the surface was incredibly abrasive. Never in my life will I go on that ride again lol

  • @AriaAsacura

    I don't know if you need this but maybe it will help other people, here's how to get back into reading! (if audiobooks dont suit you)
    1) Pick a small, light book. I know you want to read a nice fat novel but I promise you, you'll be really frustrated when you're only reading half a chapter every few weeks and it takes ages and you're forgetting stuff. Pick a small book.
    2) Short stories and anathologies are a great way to get into it! If you don't like a story, just skip it. You'll get into the rhythm of reading longer sections and enjoying a full story within a manageable timeframe. This will help a lot to move onto novellas.
    3) Start observing what time you do have that's free. Are you scrolling your phone on the way to work/school? Do you find yourself waiting around between meetings or classes? Any time you're scrolling to fill time, you can read. You'd be surprised how much reading you can do in 5 minutes.
    4) comics, graphic novels, magazines, zines, pamphlets, that's all reading! it doesnt have to be a book!
    5) take offline breaks. turn your computer off, mute your phone, and take an hour to just read. even if you dont read a lot. enjoy being unreachable. enjoy being alone with the words. let yourself be uninterrupted.
    if anyone else has tips, suggest them too! happy reading!!

    • @AriaAsacura
      @AriaAsacura Год назад +1

      oh, 6) you dont have to Read The Right Things. read anything. fuck what youre "supposed" to read. only read what you'll enjoy. if thats kids fic or YA or animal facts or manuals or fanfic or whatever. read it. read anything.

    i am also a giant bag person and i swear i dont know how people walk around without any inventory slots. its horrifying. also having a tangible hobby in which you make something with your hands is an absolute game changer, youve GOT to find something you do and then have a physical thing at the end of it.

    YOU'RE SO REAL FOR THE PEOPLE WITHOUT BAGS THING!!! Like they're just out here, may as well be naked, vulnerable to the wiles of this cruel world, without even like a bag of chips to get them through it. I feel responsible for them. Like I have to prepare healing spells or something like I'm escorting NPCs in a video game.

    Silly story: my six year old told me he wants a baby. My uterus is closed for business, but I encouraged him to go on. He said, "I want a baby when I am a human. I will name her Star Wars." Instead of "adults" and "children", my son says "humans" and "kids". He's a fun little goober.

    The cucumber salad with soy sauce and sugar is probably liangban huanggua, which is not intended to be a salad in the first place and only fits the term by technicality. It's a fun Chinese dish for hot weather!

    I do wood carving! Its so relaxing, and its a great way to make gifts for people. You can always start w a pocket knife, but Id recommend getting a pair of cutting gloves and a cheap set of wood carving tools. Watch a quick vid on a few ways to wood cut and have at it! I cant do fiber arts for the life of me, but wood carving is so soothing. I ALSO hate 7 years, total shit, bah!

    We will support you with any type of content you'll make! Be it movie reviews, make up (throwback), "I wanna embody this side of my personality here is what they like" type of vids, we are here for it because your personality is a ray of sunshine, and what we come back to. Not the topic of conversation, but the person who is conversing.
