inspiring!! I've watched a lot of mosaic DIY's but none talked about using Dremel tool. I am going to start rummaging for mugs, and cups and start mosaic projects.
Omgosh I have been looking high and low to find one, just one, person that cuts crockery with a dremel. I knew I could do it! I just wanted to see one video where someone else used it. I'm so happy.
I've been wanting to cut something ceramic and thought it would require expensive tool. Lucky me, I already have a Dremel! I'm very excited! Thank you for the video!!!
You should get more views, this is a great way to expand the options for mosaic work. I did something similar to a decorative outer trim of a plate, removing the desirable bits with my wet blade tablesaw, I also have a custom made high speed rotary tool I designed and built myself, it is quite powerful and has a flex shaft, the only problem I have is the inconsistency of the diamond wheels, their quality varies from horrible to superb, and does not seem to be related to price as much as luck of the draw. Anyway, good stuff here, well done. ☺
Fabulous demonstration here! I’m just starting out and want to use up lots of pretty broken China I have. I also want to be able to fussy cut around the patterns n make small pieces for jewellery etc. so I think this would be the best tool for me?! Can you suggest Any other tools I might need? Thanks again 😘
Your work is beautiful, I just came across your skateboard on Facebook! Thanks so much for sharing this. Am now following you on Facebook and am new YT subsciber. Just about to venture into the world of mosaics and am now feeling really inspired! Your video's are tremendously helpful. Please please do videos for total mosaic beginners!x
Hey Christine, that is beautiful! Have you considered adding a foot pedal switch to your Dremel so you don't have to keep reaching around? I hope you're still making creative and gorgeous repurposed art!
Why do people insist on putting music all the way through a clip? It's incredibly loud and distracting, and makes it almost impossible to work out what it being said.
Bluffton3 hard to answer that. How often are you using it? You can buy multiple blades for a fraction of the price that last the same amount of time from Aliexpress. Just search "Dremel diamond wheel"

Very precise cuts. The dust is dangerous.

Impressive! This could revolutionise my crockery cutting process! 😊
Thanks for sharing. I’ve tried cutting ceramic by hand and did not have good results. I hope this will make it easier.

Hi Christine, does the diamond wheel cut Pyrex and China dishes? Thank you.
What blade or file are you using

Can you also use this to cut around the finer points of the small patterns or to cut out a larger pattern?
Wow amazing, can you make shapes like circles and hearts or a flower?
I wish I had my own workshop where I could do this! I definitely don’t want that dangerous dust in my home…
Thank you. I have learnt something new. I am a beginner.
What cutting wheel (name, product ID or type) do you use?
specifically the diamond wheel.
It appears to be the dremel 545 diamond wheel.
@christineleonie4844 what type of dremel blade do you use?
I finally got my Dremel. Thank you. :-)
whats the best type of accessory to use to do this?
Thank you sooo much. I've been struggling with hand held tools. Am off to buy a Dremel. :-)
Ha...you are most welcome
Thank you so much for sharing, just what I needed :-)
The music makes it so I cannot hear what is being said.
I liked your video but your music is too loud and makes it hard to hear you clearly at times. Very distracting.
are there any blades that will round the edges after a straight cut? thx
is that plate ceramic? mi 3000 dremel does not cut the plate like yours. I wonder why
It depends on the plate. Stoneware is best to avoid. :)
So is the water cooling it or removing the dust?
Its actually easing the friction between the cup and the blade....it is like the water in the grinder. And it actually extends the life of the blade.
Is that water you are brushing on?
What about the silica in the crockery that you are breathing? Please wear a N95 mask.
Could you cut part way through and then break

I can't stand the music either
Yes get rid of the music horrible
I agree. I turned the sound down and put the CC on.
Great video but could you please post a version with no music? It's very distracting and I would rather hear what you have to say. Thanks ❤
can you please tell me what the bit is that you are using on your dremel for cutting china? Is it EZ545?
Judy Liberante it's called a Diamond Wheel.
The music is too loud, so difficult to hear you

Can't understand a lot of the speaking because the music volume is too loud!
Looks great but makes a lot of dust...and yeah the music is wayyy too loud when you arent speaking
Great idea, thanks.
That sounds like a kiwi accent! :-)

Oh boy. I’m going to finish watching but music is distracting and too loud.
