writing as a whole can indeed be a humbling experience, so it's hard to not beat ourselves up - even harder than the actual process of writing itself sometimes. your current approach sounds sensible and hopefully it works effectively for you. best of luck with your nanowrimo journey and take care!

Thanks Y- I appreciate your comment. I think there’s a lot of self discovery ahead for me, and I’m very excited:) thanks for watching!

Im starting to try NaNoWriMo for the first time this year (yay! :D🎉) and so I'm not even trying to go straight into actual-novel-scale wordcounts etc. my plan of action is "just write SOMETHING down with a purpose everyday." but shopping lists/tasks etc don't count.
So, so far I have: started working on a DND character sheet, written down and lightly outlined an idea I had for an entirely new project, and then I managed to write 600ish words for another project that I had already heaving outlined and planned out. I know that I'm a kind of writer that wants to make a detailed plan and plot everything out for a writing project as if its an essay, and I cant stop myself from self editing so I think I'm going to enjoy my approach to it. Your plan is similar to mine I think. and if on one day I am struck with a 2am poetry muse, then I'm going to count that as apart of NaNoWriMo too.
    Good luck with NaNoWriMo everybody!!

This sounds great!! Love that you’re giving yourself some flexibility to work on multiple things- that’s definitely Something I’ll be doing too! Good luck!

Camp NaNoWriMo is a great way to break into NaNoWriMo (April, July) because the participant can set their own goals and word counts.

Oh awesome! I didn't know it had a different structure! I'll have to look more into that 🤔

Yeah doing NaNoWriMo for the first time. I’m just trying to add words to my work. Already had around 17k words in my novel and now after 4 days of NaNoWriMo I added 5-6k new words. Feels good to push myself through scene after scene and just get something down…even if I change a lot of it during revision 😂
