I'm reading Lord of Chaos, and this book really made me appreciate the universe, its intricacies, and the character's psyches to a larger extent than the previous works in the series. It only gets better and better! ADHD in adulthood is not an easy pill to swallow. Both because of the challenge you now face in trying to deal with it and also the feeling of grief for all the years, you could've been looking for help as a child. I am a therapist and my clients struggle with this revelation a lot, you're not alone!

Back when I was in school I'd take my little blue notebook everywhere, filling it up in tiny handwriting with a bit of everything, short stories, musings, thoughts, both in Portuguese and English. Took me four years to fill it up. It was my company on the worst days of my depression and the only place I felt that I could be sincere. Before that, I would have a notebook for each thing, but then I'd grow bored of the idea and the notebook would be unfinished. I stopped having the need to have it by me when I got better - which was bittersweet. I miss constantly writing and how clear everything became afterwards. I miss having a small notebook that everyone recognized. But whenever I try to recreate it, I end up with half filled notebooks, with uninspired ideas

I hope you continue to make more videos in the future. while I'm not reading a lot different series of books, I'm reading about...40 different manga series at the same time, it is truly thanks to the library because I do not have the money nor the space for all those books. I don't keep a tbr list but I DO make a list of what book I need to pick up next at the library and it feels less daunting that way.

I am a forever novel quitter haha. I write to chapter 6 or so and cant move forward. I go back and spend so much time editing and than getting stuck and sometimes I do just want to write down my thoughts....I need to try something new. I heard Hemmingway said to always write your first draft along with some other authors. I dont think I honestly ever considered writing a first draft by hand....so I started looking around about it hence me here on this video. Im def writing in pencil and Im looking at the same pencils haha!

Why not use an e ink device like remarkable 2 or supernote a5x?

I'm currently handwriting a short story as well, it's a about a curse in a high-mountain village and 5 friends who need to solve the mystery of an old crime that caused that curse, I really love how writing it on paper feels, it's so mindful and so relaxing at the same time 💙, thanks for your video

A pen/pencil and paper don't spy on you, don't collect your data, don't send your data to a third-party company to analyze it and sell you personalized ads. The lines and the way your handwriting is, help you reflect on your emotions, are you happy? You'll see it in your handwriting, are you nervous? You'll see it too, pens and papers helped me notice my emotions way better, and I'm happy that many people still acknowledge the power of simplicity and authenticity that come with handwriting

this was super helpful! I hadn’t heard that Gaiman interview but the few times I’ve written in a notebook and then transcribed to a computer I’ve found I like that process a lot, for most of the reasons you mentioned. good luck writing!

People are so wrong with number of books reads challenges. If you want to read more, find out how many pages you have read in total. Another way to measure your accomplishments is multiply the number of pages by the book's ranking(your ranking or Goodreads taking for example). Add up all these numbers, divide that by the total number of pages. That is the average ranking you are reading. That way you can see if you are reading more pages and if you are reading better books in average.
