I just want to add, because it could be misleading, that while Nomura and Mitsubishi are the LARGEST shareholders of many camera companies, they don't own the MAJORITY of shares in them, usually owning below 10% of the company. While important, it means that they can't control the company per se. Yes, maybe they exert an influence on them, but they can't tell them what to do if the other shareholders don't agree. So it could be that they find the camera industry a worthy sector to be in, hence a diversification by investing in all of them, while letting them manage the business the way they see fit. I think we would need much more information before claiming that one entity governs all of these businesses. Might still be the case, though, who knows...
