2015 Lexus NX200t F Sport - Off Road And Track Review

- The 2015 Lexus NX 200t F Sport. This is a premium CUV from Lexus, featuring a 2.0L Turbo I4 producing 235 HP, which I’ll be comparing to the Buick Encore, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mercedes GLA250, and Volvo V60 Cross Country. Starting with the drawbacks, the Lexus is the heaviest car of the group, at just over 4000 lbs. Its towing capacity and fuel economy was in the middle of the pack. That said, it offers decent rear leg room, was fairly quick regardless of its heft, and offered good cargo space in comparison to the other models in this pack. In this video we’ll be track testing and off-road testing.
This vehicle was tested as part of the 2015 Northwest Automotive Press Association’s Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year competition. The vehicle category and competing vehicles are below:

Why must people post such negative comments? If you don't like this car, buy one of the dozen completely different cars out there.
Another great review; to the point and on point.
Drove a regular NX the other week and I must say it would be a great grocery getter. Really comfortable seats and seating position. Good visibility and overall comfort. Just a go-to good car.

The turbo engine is a new engine first seen in the NX.
The turbo was designed and built by Lexus, they didn't want to use anyone else's in the car dual scroll turbo.
How roomy is the interior compared to the Lexus GS F Sport?
I'm more of A fan of older Lexus models but this thing is really appealing for some reason. Might have to get one after college.

Hey Jason, can you explain why some cars have like a jitter at any rpm and speed just as long as the pedal is pushed all the way? The jitter affects the rpm slightly making the rpm go up and down.
I've heard it's the transmission having trouble putting down power??

Engineering Explained thanks for the reply I'm looking for a small suv for my wife who does home health therapy and her corolla does not work very well in deep sugar sand I would like to see the Renegade in sugar sand or desert sand I'm leaning towards it more than the others
That's not off road. I could have done that in my camry still would have made it other side of puddle.

Well that’s not on the road. I can literally be in a mall parking lot and say it’s off-road. How else do you think jeep owners say they off-road.

2016 Hyundai Tucson looks much more modern and attractive than this.
This Lexus looks like the Kia Sportage with some elements from the Mazda CX-5 as well.
Lexus needs to replace its design team ASAP.

I don't understand why people like these raised up hatchbacks that get terrible gas mileage.
Wesley Green It's a weird segment, to be sure. People who buy these want a 'it just does everything' kind of car. It can tow, fit the kids/dog, get a little dirty on a camping trip, but still be practical to parallel park and squeeze into a parking garage.
The gas mileage suffers, but a lot of people don't seem to mind that too much lately as gas prices are down.
Personally, I don't like these 'jack of all trades master of none' kind of crossovers. But then I don't have a family.

Wesley Green CAFE regulations and safety laws make it much more practical for car companies to make cars like this than smaller hatches. The Subaru Outback turned into an SUV because that's the direction the regulations took it, for example.

I don't even unserstand comprehensive performance tests on these types of vehicles. Is anyone really using all the HP, and taking these offroad? 99.9% of the time, no.
The NX 200t looks exactly like the Kia Sportage, especially the front design.
The rear design looks very ugly.
I would never pay $35K+ for this.
BMW and Mercedes SUVs look so much better and have superior driving mechanics.
