Debate: Should Bully XL dogs be banned in Scotland?

The XL Bully is bred for its size and strength and can weigh up to 60 kilograms. At the end of last year, the UK Government added it to the list of breeds banned in England and Wales.
This followed a spate of attacks in which people died or were injured by the dogs. Initially, the Scottish Government didn't think a ban was needed here, but - in the wake of a recent influx of bully dogs from down south - it appears ministers here are now preparing to act on the grounds of public safety.
Scotland Tonight discussed the issue with Kerryanne Shaw who runs a bully rescue centre in Glasgow and the former Labour MSP Jenny Marra who's had a long interest in the control of dangerous dogs.
