There’s nothing like waking up on snowy, cozy morning brewing a steamy cup of coffee, toasting Eggo waffles and finding out that Meg has posted a new video!!!!
"If I wanted to sit and suffer through a bunch of things that didn't make sense I would just sit and listen to my own thoughts" HA Amazing I feel this soo much sometimes.
I was recommended Fourth Wing by my cousin who, I feel compelled to point out, is a generally lovely, intelligent, interesting person for whom I have a great deal of respect. She raved about it. RAVED. So despite having heard enough to be wary, I gave it a shot. I lasted two chapters. I wanted to tell her that I'd rather set myself on fire than finish it but I managed to keep it to "Oh sorry I don't think it's for me." I am so baffled by the hype.
Oh crap... Almost forget!!!! Meg, i wish you a wonderful New Year, full of better and continuing good health, peace and prosperity, and love and obedience from your doggo!
I'd like to see more book summaries. With full spoilers!Either with or without your personal review. I'm not going to read a lot of these books. So what I really enjoy is just a little story time by you, Meg. And I hope others agree.
I was about to rant about adenomyosis @15:13 and you beat me to it lol, I was very lucky and new how to self advocate to push for continued medical stuff after surgery "came back negative" for endometriosis because I was offered a hysterectomy at 20. I want kids so that was a no but I will later in life.
@@ReadingWithMeg literally always scared that my specialist will be stolen by Mayo Clinic because he's amazing. A "good" temp solution for Adeno - in my experience is a Nexplanon + IUD combo. Not everyone needs both, but many do. Didn't mean to med dump I just love your channel so much
@@justabookishreader yeah also it’s super important to have a great endometriosis excision specialist that does the surgery so they can accurately diagnose and remove endometriosis when they’re in there. So many doctors miss the endometriosis during surgery and tell people they’re fine or don’t remove it and allow it to continue to grow. My first surgery they told me nothing was there yet I was loaded with endo.

Oh I know and why did she read like she was 15? I swear it was written as a YA novel then she felt like writing a sex scene and then went back and was like jk she’s 20 lol
@ReadingWithMeg totally agree. I dnf'd it with about an hour left. And the dragon bonding process in this book is so badly done. This process is done so, so, much better in Christopher Paolini's The Inheritance Cycle IMHO.
Awesome video! Thank you for affirming my thoughts on several books. I'm not defending Fourth Wing in any way shape or form. Ever since I heard about that book I was convinced it was hot garbage. But to provide context on what you said about the movie rights and celebrities having the book: Publishers will often send advanced copies to filmmakers and industry folk trying to drum up interest in making a movie or show. It increases profits exponentially. I was briefly married to the daughter of a film director and was even tasked with reading Stephen King's Joyland a few months before release because he got an advanced copy. I had to provide him with notes on whether it could work on screen. It was kinda cool, but I ultimately told him it wasn't gonna amount to much.

I had to Google House on Needless Street to figure out what was happening. I quite enjoyed The Last Word, but I think the book was too long. Taylor Adams seems to struggle to actually finish a story off. And don't get me started on Ms McFadden.

Great video! The Last Word also made my list of the worst reads of last year. I feel like Taylor Adams has such potential with his stories and then just takes a hard left and veers into the ridiculous. I honestly think had he written campy slasher movies in the late '80s or early '90s he would have been super successful.
Yess completely agree with you! I enjoyed No Exit but his other books have been downhill for me. I’m always hooked in the beginning and they continue to get worse and worse

Lmao I read and really liked 6 of these books so now I’m considering reading the other ones on this list that I haven’t read 😂😂😂 maybe we just have opposite taste! great content!
look at me actually giving a proper response as opposed to a joke. so while I agree with a lot of your criticisms about Laws of the Skies, it is definitely pretentious and philosophical and the meaning isn't super obvious, I read that as being rather the point - we're brought into the world, the way we exit it, or the age at which it happens, does it have any meaning? Is there a point to survival when we're going to die some way or another? I thought highlighting these young kids being murdered or finding various ways to die when put in dangerous situations or surroundings was an interesting way to analyze the purpose of existence. but yeah, it's not extreme horror and I'd call this a survival/philosophical horror. that translation was a goddamn mess and the text deserves a better one. now let's see the rest of the video lol
Yeah I think it’s safe to say I 100% hate philosophical books and that’s where you and I have different taste lol I’m just like….yeah I’m aware life has no point 😂 do agree maybe it would be better with a better translator because OOOOOFFF
I hated law of the skies it was ridiculous and the way the kids died i feel like they should shock you but they were so dumb they were funny. Im evil sorry not sorry.

Thanks for the advice. I hate wasting time on crap. On Veteran's Day weekend, all the libraries were closed and I had nothing. I actually bought The Housemaid at Walmart in desperation. My review: Better than housework. A low bar. All of the Amazon reviews I read afterwards screamed "Plagiarism!" The rest sounded boring or cringey, and there is no excuse for those. look at me actually giving a proper response as opposed to a joke. so while I agree with a lot of your criticisms about Laws of the Skies, it is definitely pretentious and philosophical and the meaning isn't super obvious, I read that as being rather the point - we're brought into the world, the way we exit it, or the age at which it happens, does it have any meaning? Is there a point to survival when we're going to die some way or another? I thought highlighting these young kids being murdered or finding various ways to die when put in dangerous situations or surroundings was an interesting way to analyze the purpose of existence.
but yeah, it's not extreme horror and I'd call this a survival/philosophical horror. that translation was a goddamn mess and the text deserves a better one. now let's see the rest of the video lol
Yeah I think it’s safe to say I 100% hate philosophical books and that’s where you and I have different taste lol I’m just like….yeah I’m aware life has no point 😂 do agree maybe it would be better with a better translator because OOOOOFFF
no because how much did they pay stephen king to blurb the last house on needless street LOL
I wonder this same thing because there’s no way he’s reading all these books with blurbs by him 😂
@@ReadingWithMeg Also facts! - the best RUclips comment since sliced bread - Stephen they are paying me a shit ton King
Anyone else see that big eggplant or did I freak out for a second? Anyway hater Meg is the best ever
Nope it was just you
❤❤❤❤❤

I hated law of the skies it was ridiculous and the way the kids died i feel like they should shock you but they were so dumb they were funny. Im evil sorry not sorry.

Thanks for the advice. I hate wasting time on crap. On Veteran's Day weekend, all the libraries were closed and I had nothing. I actually bought The Housemaid at Walmart in desperation. My review: Better than housework. A low bar. All of the Amazon reviews I read afterwards screamed "Plagiarism!" The rest sounded boring or cringey, and there is no excuse for those. You know what one I DNF'd that other people love? The One. Oh for God's sake, how ridiculous.
Love the vid 🤘 please roast me 🔥
I would be honored
Being suuuper condescending about people leaving hate comments is only going to make them leave more lmfao. Never feed the trolls.
I don't know if she really read The Last Word.. because the villain with the Katana is NOT the real killer... Like duh...
Wow SPOILER ALERT
@@ReadingWithMeg because I don't understand your logic man. you're saying that the killer with the katana is acting like "dumb".. like hell yeah, because he is not a Real Killer.. HE IS A WRITER . you are laughable.. made me question if you have really read the books you've mentioned here .
@@wahtusy3519 because why would I mention actual spoilers in my video and what actually happened? Also oh yes I remember details about a book I read in March. Stfu lol
@@wahtusy3519 I’m laughable yet you’re the one leaving hate comments on videos. That tells me all I need to know 😂
@@ReadingWithMeg "that tells me all I need to know"... well yeah, except the book you supposedly have read.. dumdum..
