Euge, your tone is so lush! I enjoy the way you break down these chords. You emphasize the need to give the playing loads of personality. No-one can play Sykes music without putting some major attitude into their playing. When I play Whitesnake tunes, my finger tips turn black because I really man handle the guitar! Anyway, thanks a million for breaking down this amazing song for us. Long live JS!
Hello Euge! My name is Danillo, I'm Brazilian and a drummer for 20 years. John Sykes is my great guitar hero. This absence of him with new albums, shows and career news is made up for with videos very well made by you. You do a brilliant job, I'm marathoning your tribute videos to John, Blue Murder and Whitesnake! I once heard a preview of a new album of his that even had a version of "Jamming - Bob Marley", I thought it was sensational. Can you share something about it? I never found anything on the internet about it. A hug directly from Brazil!

Great post. Exactly my time and my music ;-). Now you, Euge, would have to go into John Sykes' set-up at some point. For example, I would be interested in the "Dirty Fingers" pickups. In addition to the really great artists like Sykes, Jake E Lee or EVH, I'm actually only missing one artist from that time who is still active. The American version of Garry Moore = Mr. Dave Meniketti (sounds almost like a Finn :-)), by Y & T. An absolutely terrific guitarist and singer like Sykes, also unfortunately totally underrated. By the way, he was a good friend of Dio and Ronnie also thought that Meniketti was totally underrated. That would be worth an "in the style of", wouldn't it? (songs like rescue me, mean streak, believe in you or I'll cry for you)
Hi Euge, first time commenter. I found your videos only fairly recently after your John Sykes videos popped up in my feed. I'm a huge Sykes fan and got hooked after watching the first one. You really have his tone and style down. It's a pleasure to watch and listen. I really enjoyed the Jake videos as well, especially the Badlands one. I was wondering if you might consider a classic Vivian Campbell era Dio video also and/or Michael Schenker era UFO? If you could that would be awesome to me, but either way I will continue to be a subscriber and watch and enjoy. I also checked out some your music as well. Great stuff! So happy You Tube algorithm suggested you. 🙂 One more thing I would love is a video on Alter Bridge and Marc Tremonti. Thanks so much, stay safe and take care! Keep rockin!

This is awesome, I’m a huge Sykes fan. You ever listen to Jorn? Tore Moren is an amazing guitarist with a similar style to Sykes. Also, Tore has KILLER tone!!
Hey Euge, love your LPs and tones. I don't have anywhere the amp that you've got, but I'm looking for general tips to fatten a tone and make it more in your face and less compressed, especially with EMGs. You've got a killer tone and play style as well (I know a lot of it comes from the hands too, thanks for this!).
Glad to hear! The most general tip is to play with big balls and crank the amp and then tighten it with SD-1 💪😎. And don’t be afraid to turn up presence & mids and well everything. It may sound a bit brutal on it’s own but usually cuts like a knife even through a dense mix.
You are absolutely punishing that Tokai Euge! What model is it? Did you strip the back of the neck or did it come that way? Sykes has long been a favorite, and you are swiftly becoming one too!
Thanks! Yes I did and not available since I didn’t write it. As a professional musician & songwriter I respect immaterial rights. My own & other people’s 🙏.
Very nice! Sykes is one of my all time favorites. Could you do a video showing how you create the drum tracks for your videos? The basic plugin kit that comes with protools basically sucks and is difficult to midi program. I need to find something more user friendly that sounds big like what you are using. Thanks!

Sound comes from players fingers: what you & how you play. Amps just amplify it and you can shape the tone a bit with some effects but there is no pedal, amp or whatever that will get you some other players sound.
