    I have purchased Tranexamic Topic Acid 5% from Naturium since 1/25/2022 for the melasma I have above lip. It is clearing up. Love this product. My dermatologist informed me that the melasma occurred because of menopause. I am 59 years old.

    I like using tranexamic acid on my PIH too. I used to use the Hada Labo tranexamic acid product line, but since then I found it’s much easier to buy the raw material in solution and keep it in my fridge 😁 Works great with micro-needling, and cheaper too.

    Have you looked into the ingredient Lemon peel bioferment? It’s not like vitamin c, no sensitivity and you can purchase on lotion rafters , add a drop or two to your morning lotion or serum. It lightens very well and had antioxidant properties.

    They neeeed to put this into a solution we can buy. I hate pads, and the wand seems so teeny. Results look impressive.
    Congrats on the sponsorship!

      I get it I was kind of reluctant about the pads but I ended up liking how simple it was to apply and they weren't abrasive. I've been reading in the comments there's a blue bottle hada labo lotion with tranexamic acid I really want to try it now!!

      @@frugalskin Oof, I have tried that Hada Labo toner/lotion (and the arbutin version). And it was grossly underwhelming. 😭😭
      It felt no different from leaving some water on before applying moisturizer.

    I've been using a 2.5% Tranexamic acid serum along with The Ordinary 2% Alpha Arbutin + HA serum to fade post-acne PIH. It's been working great and I've even noticed that I rarely get any more noticeable PIH after new major breakouts!!
    PS. I will definitely miss you if you go MIA on us lol

    I’m staying persistent with my vitamin C, I want ALL the evidence based collagen boosters 😂 that being said I’m least married to vitamin c, over tret, Azelaic, and glycolic. I love how even when I know a lot abt an active you always give me 3-4 little facts I didn’t know (like tranexamic and infrared!)

    • @frugalskin
      @frugalskin  2 года назад

      I'm glad it works for you! I should have mentioned I've only tried ascorbic acid. I suppose I could try ethyl ascorbic acid in the future like you said for the collagen boosting benefits of vit c

    Damn I’ve been using the good molecules discoloration correcting serum for months now, and I always think of it as the niacinamide being the key ingredient that’s helped my scars and especially STOPS NEW PIMPLES FROM SCARRING! But maybe it’s the tranexamic acid doing more of the heavy lifting there? Idk
    I know the serum overall has faded acne scars so well… I’ve also used geanactive retinoid every other night but yeah…. It’s wild cuz I used to be able to see spots from a pimple I had months ago, like if I saw a picture of myself from April for example, I could look at my face now and match a spot in that pic to a scar still on my face now…
    But since using this product (in combo with my routine; as u said I can’t say for sure isolate one ingredient or another) I cant see evidence of last months pimples, I love it..
    upping the amount of days I use retinoids from every other night to now 3 nights on and 1 night off when I use glycolic acid at night, because i realized my skin is acclimated to it for a while now and I’m ready to go harder on texture lol

    Vitamin C never worked for me. It took me a while to realize that it wasn’t my vitamin a products that were causing my irritation, but actually the vitamin C. I tried to take a break and then add back in at a lower dose (best luck I had was w the ordinary 8% ascorbic/ 2% arbutin) but my skin still was a bit unhappy. The best results for my hyperpigmentation have been in the last year using hada labo’s whitening ‘lotions’ (too lazy to look up the names, but I have both the light blue in the light and rich and the dark blue ones in light and rich. And I would layers those suckers up!!! Lol) I would use these in conjunction with the PTR discoloration treatment AND my Cureology .005 tretinoin/2% azelaic/4% niacinimide. I found I could use ALL of those actives with no problem, but add the vitamin C w even just my Cureology and my skin would freak out!!! 🤷‍♀️
    Side note- I hope this isn’t your last video 😔 I’ll be honest, I do find your sadder videos to be a bit of a bummer and hard to watch sometimes…but I do appreciate the honesty, as we all know that is hard to come by on this platform these days. And I have gone through my own mental health struggles over the years. So understand it’s just part of your process… I still think a DECIEM/Brandon Truaxe deep dive would be a great avenue for you though. Skincare/True Crime/Snarky Side Eye Humor sounds like the ultimate content combo to me!!!! 🤣

      Yes vitamin c just doesn't agree with some of us idk why. The reason I used it for so long is because the irritation was relatively mild and I thought I would get used to it but never did fully.
      You're the second person to mention the blue hada labo lotions I need to get my hands on those!

    Vitamin c oil is nasty . Used it and gives me shit brightening . People just overhype it . It's not good at all topically

  • @manuelgonzalez785
    @manuelgonzalez785 2 года назад

    my skin did not like vitamin c. I did use many strenghts... formulations and derivatives... i could not deal with all the irritation. Nowadays, I just go for licorice root, alpha arbutin, ginseng and tranaxamic acid. I am caerfull about niacinamide, since it is in many products... just like hyaluronic acid... in my opinion easy to overuse these ingredients.... I know you have tried the Hada Labo products before, but their " whitening" skin lotion/essence ( blue bottle) has in my opinion safe concentrations of tranaxamic acid and other ingredients that help in the brightening process: you do have to be patient....

      I forgot to mention I also tried the ordinary alpha arbutin and didnt notice much improvement on previous breakouts. I NEED to try that blue hada labo lotion sounds amazing.
