- Phoenix Wright is suddenly tasked with defending Hank J. Wimbleton in court after the events of Madness Combat 1. Without time to investigate or even speak to his client, can Phoenix manage to get Hank acquitted? Or was this trial doomed from the start?

Imagine this was canon and the reason that Nevada plunged into darkness is because some lawyer made people believe it was scripted.
The thought of that is so funny, I’m half-headcanon-ing it into the Madness lore myself.
Maybe nevada plunged into darkness because they were acting a movie.
Just like how in Henry Stickmin the stickman Phoenix Wright defended Henry which caused a lot of chaos

(VIDEO SPOILERS AHEAD)
For those who didn’t catch it, I’ll explain the “plot” of the video: After Madness Combat 1, The Sheriff, trying to get Hank behind bars by any means necessary, ordered an immediate trial and only sent one piece of evidence to the prosecution: a camera which captured Hank’s murders. Thinking this would be a guaranteed conviction, The Sheriff forced the trial to end in just one session. However, because Phoenix is so good (or just lucky...) at his job, he was able to get Hank off the hook.
In this Cany-fied universe, Hank isn’t an actor and there wasn’t a movie being filmed. He’s still just an absolutely murderous psychopath and he still had fun annihilating everybody in the park, just as the canon MC1 animation shows. Phoenix just homed in on the small details and was able to sway the judge to his side as a result.
After learning of The Sheriff’s setup during the trial, Hank decides to take some personal revenge, leading directly into Madness Combat 2. This video is meant to be a possible “Madness Combat 1.5” of sorts, explaining one of the reasons Hank wanted The Sheriff dead so badly.
*edit: alternatively, as pointed out below, you can see it as Wright’s theory being 100% correct and Hank was just participating in a movie shoot, but The Sheriff tried to get Hank imprisoned over the movie anyways since it looks so real. This actually makes more sense since it explains the lack of blood.*
What if madness combat 1 was actually a movie shoot but the sheriff thinks its a massacre and set hank to trial which make hank angry and want to take revenge to the sheriff and also thats why the rest of the madness combat series has a blood and not the first series

@@silent0089 It's not necessarily "okay", it's just that there's nobody in charge who can (or wants to) stop it after a certain point. Presumably the AAHW began after Madness Combat 1 and quickly gained power afterward, given their many facilities and aggressive recruitment campaigns. Since the AAHW (paraphrased from Krinkels) "act in opposition to compassion" because of their mental conditioning and the Auditor's grudge against Hank and any who would resist his rule, they have no reason to care about mass-murder other than it potentially being against their own people.
Assuming that the Project Nexus backstory is canon, there might even have been a zombie apocalypse going on before Madness Combat 1 (at least around Nexus City), so survival of themselves and their own group would become a priority over greater-scope laws.
