Streaming sites don't preserve films, when they remove from site they are gone, physical media is the future of film.

Streaming and digital just isn't the same imo. The video and audio quality is getting there, but still not as good. Availability of titles is often worse. I have a few movies on BD/DVD that aren't on any streaming service.

HELL NO! the era of physical media ain't dead (at least to me), not until I SAY IT IS!
that's why I have my DVDs
Even the blank ones ready to be
    Recorded on and burned
And I still have my old CDs as
    Sentimental value.
But as far as digital media, it can always be immortalized as it gets
Backed up to the cloud. Where it can live on FOREVER!!!

I will always prefer physical media over streaming because it what I grew up with and I remember when I bought Disney and Pixar movies on DVD and watching them time by time during my childhood.
Unfortunately streaming is anything but magical because like you said movies or shows get removed because of licensing issues or movies and certain episodes of TV shows get heavily edited to the point where it ruins the movie or TV episode.
Physical media will always have a special place in my heart and is the format I will always prefer since it was what I grew up with and I like the idea of having a collection.

10:15 I admire (and the agree) with the sentiment being said, but I've always felt like I'm pissing against the wind. In some cases, I've later seen the DVDs/Blu-rays that I've bought people on shelves in their houses still in the cellophane 😞

I think the shifting aspect ratios in Dawn of Justice were the IMAX scenes, which is how the blu-ray was released as well. More image top and bottom.

The bluray I have, which the original UK release, is all in 16x9 and when I first watched the download version it was the same (download came with bluray back then). The download updated to include the Imax aspect ratio but also the edit changed, as I originally it was the theatrical cut, now it is the extended edit.

@@immakingamovie1379 I believe Dawn of Justice got an upgraded 4K release, because there was something not right about the previous release (I forget what). When it got re-issued, they included the IMAX framing in some shots. It was a single 4K release that didn't have a remastered Blu-ray, so I guess the older releases on Blu-ray and 4K are the only way to watch it in 2:35:1 at this point and who knows how long they will still be in print.

Nah because with things like games especially licenses get passed around so much that you won’t have access to play a game you used to like. And with movies they keep going back and remastering or changing things that they might make it worse, look at what george lucas did to the original star wars movies adding weird CGI song numbers and digitally altering scenes. Basically the fact that you cant trust these companies that own the rights to media to guarantee access or to not alter the originals you need physical media

I find the Fawlty Towers joke about Major being a racist particularly clever as later on in the episode of course, Fawlty is racist toward the Germans but such a thing wasn’t seen half as bad as slurs toward black people. Yet it clearly is if you’re on the receiving end.
Therefore the earlier scene is required to make this point. If the audience misses it, that’s on them. Even if Major’s language is deemed more unacceptable today. Obviously it was always unacceptable. I don’t know where people have got the idea that it was perfectly fine then.
