great tutorial! I am trying to fit in a 2nd 3.5" hdd in this case. Which side will be installed? and will it need right angled sata or left angled sata cable?
I'm not sure on the cables they are cheap, I would get both. I do not think you could do a 2nd HDD. You may be able to get a 2nd SSD, but a spinning disk, I think you can only fit one. Now you maybe able to get it to fit in a odd location. if you can do it with only 2 screw, I would do lock tight on them, the blue type. But When I looked at it, it would only fit One HDD, SSD and M.2. You could do 2 SSD and a M.2. I could be wrong. But I am pretty sure.

It is fine All the CPUd that can be used with the HP's are 65watt max. The motherboard, cpu, memory, NVMe is around 130watts. The RTX 2060 super is 175-200w You still have overhead left.
Will this work for an upgrade MSI GeForce GTX 1650 GAMING X 4G GeForce GTX 1650 Graphic Card - 4 GB GDDR6 - 128 bit Bus Width - DisplayPort - HDMI. On this hp pc
I was lucky enough to get an RTX3060. Will this 400w power supply handle this? I assume that it will since the 2060 super is supposed to use more power than the RTX 3060..
If you go beyond the rtx 2060 your just fine hp spec the pc to have 20-15% over head. They always over recommend what is called for, due to people that build pc mostly. Some one will build a pc with a parts that require more then the psu they buy, then thry have problems. The hp mother board with memory and cpu uses 120-130watts then only thing left is Drives and Gpu. You can only put 1 hdd that's 7-15watts. A 2060 only needs 175watts so . If you do the math a 400 watt is just fine. If you try to go above that you will run in to problems.
Just bought an HP M01-F0024 with Ryzen 5 with RX Vega 11 card, 256gb SSD, and 12gb RAM. It has that 180watt PSU so assuming that 400w unit is plug in play? It has the same case.
FPS and hz are different. Yes a 60hz monitor could do 120fps or 500Fps. If you plan to play FPS games I would look at 144hz monitor. If you just going to edit or watch movies. I would look for a 2k/4k 21:9 120/144hz wide screen. hope that helps.
@@CluLovesJesus Yes 60Hz is fine just 144hz is less tearing and looks a lot nice. You notice less Pixelation. 60Hz is fine but 144hz is better response time on larger monitor. When you increase resolution & Size past like 30 or 32" you want to have 144hz or more when you get past 2k. Thank You!! i was on the edge of selling this thing ;)
Thanks for the comment!
great tutorial!
But I am pretty sure.
would this tutorial work for an HP Pavilion 590 with an i5-8400
Yes I do not see why not.
@@TNW1337 Ok thank you!
Did you upgrade it? I had this same pc but not luck with psu
@@MarcoAntonioSalcedoGalindez Yes I did. I had no problems. Did you get the PSU from HP?
When I get mine I'm going to add 4 extra gb of ram. What type of ram was in it before

Hey TechNitWit I have a couple of questions regarding the psu.
1. If the PSU is proprietary can I still use SFX PSUs from a different brand? I was planning on using 24 Pin to 4 Pin adapters but I'm not sure if it's safe for electricity distribution. (Note: Generic 400w from HP isn't available in my country hence I decided to opt for another brand)
i think it doesnt exist but now there are 2 seperated blocks of 4 pins each so 8 total (on new psu). Just plug one on the 2 block :)
Are these the same steps for the 690 too?
yes & TG The cages are a little different But the i3 & 690 are the same. only thing different on the TG is the cage after you take the side off.
Nice video and the best part is that it's working first shot. My question is do you initialize the PNY 1 TB SSD or Windows detect it automatically. BTW, I've installed the 500 watt PSU because the 1660 require 450 watts
What was the part# for the 500w psu?

the max Psu I know of is the 500w Yes you can upgrade the 590 as long as it is one of the SSF and not the large one.
if you can get the rtx 2060 sup. Or 3060 both will work or RX 6600Xt. just make sure you stay under 10.3"
If I may ask how long did it take you to receive the powersupply after ordering it.
10 weeks
Try ordering it from ebay now. I got mine in less than a week. www.ebay.com/itm/294211563438
Great video. It's very informative. Do you think these upgrades would work on my Hp Pavilion 690-0067c as they have similar builds? Also, do you think the 400-watt PSU would be able to support the new 3060 ti graphics card?
It is that same Case as the TG yes all the upgrades will work.
What exact psu did you use buddy? Got a 590 and looking at doing this upgrade
It should be listed in the disco. it is the same Psu for the 690 & TG. You can get a 400w or 500w.

Memory up to 32Gb and if you have the 400 watt psu same one i use in the video you can do up to a 2060. they also make a 500 watt psu that will allow up to a 3070. that psu will also work.

I was lucky enough to get an RTX3060. Will this 400w power supply handle this? I assume that it will since the 2060 super is supposed to use more power than the RTX 3060..
yes sir
Asus recommends a 500W PSU. What do you say to this? Could the additional Wattage provide better performance out of the GPU you installed? Thanks.

Do you think if I get a hp pavilion gaming desktop and use a 60hz monitor it would run up to 120 fps?
FPS and hz are different. Yes a 60hz monitor could do 120fps or 500Fps. If you plan to play FPS games I would look at 144hz monitor. If you just going to edit or watch movies. I would look for a 2k/4k 21:9 120/144hz wide screen. hope that helps.

Not as good as 144hz but still playable.
@@TNW1337 like will it run on a less frequent rate or is it different? Because Im using a 60hz monitor until I can get a 144hz one
Also if you have a higher resolution it become more impotent. 144hz well make the game feel more life like and alive.

Well with the 400 Watt Psu, 2060super, 32Gb of ram and a i-7 non K.

That HD caddy had enough room for your full size card. In mine I had to make a cut in the caddy to have a way to connect the 8 pin. Way too tight. Also, that 400w psu is way too hard to find and it never comes up in google searches
