    Do not use this video as a guide for wrenching on your bike. I double and triple check that everything is torqued to spec and adjusted. There are also other things I do to get ready for the track such as: clean, lube and adjust chain, check/flush coolant, deglaze rotors, break-in brake pads, apply safety wire, remove headlight bulbs, remove turn signals, apply tape to lights, etc.

    Hey Cuban. Enjoyed your video. Quick tip for you: When removing your oil filter, wrap a piece of tin foil all the way around your pipes. When your done, you can just pull it off and throw it away. No oil on your pipes or and springs.

    I'm running next weekend. Just swapped my tires for metzeler TD track day slicks. I made my own tire changer over the winter. Similar to max2h. Full setup now for track preparation. Wish we where neighbours, be cool to hang out. Korea may be little far. Lol. I have similar wrenching style. How do like those pads, i just honned my rotors lots of glazing from EBC HH pads.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  3 года назад +1

      Nice man, the Racetec TD should be crazy sticky. Will you be using tire warmers? Last couple track days I have been running EBC's EPFA which is a 50/50 Street/Track without complaints, no fade. This time I wanted to try their GPFAX line which is their most aggressive (also very expensive), for racetrack only. The one disadvantage is that they're harsher on the rotors. I'll switch back to the EPFA after the track day. I ran their HH for some time, but that's a more street oriented (and cheaper) pad. I definitely experienced brake fade when I ran them at the track.

    • @adzventurerider

    Awesome vid, but you want to reconsider "pre-oiling" your oil filter. What you're doing is introducing un-filtered oil into the engine...even if it comes "straight from the bottle".

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  3 года назад +1

      Thanks dude. I'm not too worried about a little contamination from new oil. I put just enough to get the filter element wet and make it a little easier for the oil to reach where it needs to go.

    • @jimwilson7592
      @jimwilson7592 3 года назад

      uhhh, TDude: .... when you add new oil through the filler hole after you drain out the old stuff, are you not introducing "un-filtered oil" to the engine?? It's unavoidable and there's no harm.

    • @TucsonDude
      @TucsonDude 3 года назад

      @@jimwilson7592 Yes, you have a good point in that the "unfiltered oil" will trickle down the case into the oil pan. I'm more concerned in what's being sucked thru the oil pump and into the bearings. I have seen specks in new oil...not to mention plastic bottle shavings and maybe even parts of foil seal. Large truck filters are indeed pre-filled, but that oil is filtered. Just my 2 cents. :)

    If there is 1 thing i'm thankful for is how easy it is to remove things from this bike. Some bike's I've had in the past had the most intricate designs for stuff like tail tidies and passenger grips. 2:24 seems like you got bored of the foil technique 🤣🤣Also how do you fill your bike with oil? the owners manual has some cryptic BS method, warm the bike up, turn it off, check level on centre stand immediately after turning off. Apparently as the oil drains from the top end the window will be filled up and that's how it should be but I seriously cant imagine BMW coming up with such a dumb way to check oil level...

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  3 года назад

      Haha, I wipe down the oil that drips to keep things shiny 😄 it does create a bit of a smoke show after the fact. To fill the oil I put 3 qts which takes it up to the top of the glass, start it up, check or leaks, and let it settled for a little while. Than I come back and add the 0.3 qt remaining which brings it back to 1/2 through the sight glass. I pretty much do the same with all the bikes and the cars. Both the truck and GTI take 6 qts of oil. I put an entire 5 qts jug and start the engine, then I add the final qt later.
