I tried to record previous sessions, but the GoPro kept shutting off. I had to format the card and then it started working, but I only got the last session.
Yes, loved the view with the throttle and brake trailing action. Would love to see a rider that had all the latest video that shows braking amount and you can see throttle and braking running up and trailing off in digital form leds as the rider transitions from the straights to the corners. I see you overtake a lot of riders in the braking zone. Thumbs up man! Keep them coming Cuban Rider, we love them!!! :-)
I appreciate that your XR is the same color/configuration as mine, so the POV camera gives me the satisfaction of being a skilled rider and as fast as you are without actually being either of those things. Thanks for that! 🙏
For me, this demonstrates it’s all about the rider. You’d pass them on their bikes, too. Your skill is obviously the key here. Lovely bike...but it’s all you.
exactly one year ago today I got my first bike, a triple black 2019 model (new) s1000xr. Never rode before, learned to ride on the internet, didn't have to take a test because my car drivers license predates 1985. Today I have 27500 kms on the clock on my year round commute, in all kinds of weather. That is how easy this bike is to ride. I wil never be able to ride like cuban, but knowing the potential is there...
Congrats Peter, great choice. Some will say that this bike is too big for a beginner, but I think it works great with the technology that comes in it. The power is so linear and the electronics so good that it makes it very good to build your skills on it. And yes, very easy to ride compared to many other bikes. I bought my original XR after just 4 months of riding.
Just curious, I’ve never owned a German bike but I do own German vehicles and they’re nothing but problems over 100k miles. In your experience, are German motorcycles the same once they start getting into the high mileage range?
@@danielrosas7550 a lot of owners do take them high mileage but me personally my like BMW bike had about 6k miles on it when I traded it in for my current bike 2019 S1000XR and I'll probably upgrade that bike before I hit 10k miles. I also get the extended all coverage warranty which last for 8 years.

Great video man - COTA is a phenominal track. I've got an XR too and they are fantastic do-it-all bikes. I've had many GS's and they're great bikes - swift, handle well, comfy and good brakes. But no GS has ever made me go WOOOHOOO! like my XR always does.
The POV view makes it look so easy, but that selfie angle really shows your effort to ride like this and less than 10% xr owners will be able to pull this off my friend 🤙🏽
It does seem a lot less hectic on the GoPro. In real life the heart rate gets going pretty good and you catch yourself breathing hard every once in a while.
What has ability got to do with it. Hes not saying the average rider could do this, hes showing how capable this bike can be in the right hands. Riding fast like this requires alot of effort on anybike. fact that hes tearing past superbikes whilst having to put in more effort still says alot.
I keep watching your track day and Tail Of The Dragon videos over and over. Awesome. My mate has just bought a brand new 2021 tri-colour S1000XR, I hope he gives me a ride of it, such great all-rounder bikes. Especially in the hands of a capable rider as you have proved. Great job mate 👍
Looks like all that preparation was well worth it!!! Really amazing videos and I like the added angle of front braking. you were soo fast at times you rubbed the stand while leaning into the corners...WOW. Keep it up - thank you!!!
Thanks Eric. I worried the entire week that something would not work out, either the bike with an issue or the track with weather, but it all worked perfect. So perfect in fact, that I ended up pushing myself too much and at the end of the day I was drained, wasn't sure if I was going to be able to load the bikes on the trailer with how tired I was.
So much respect for crushing it on a adv. Not my style but I get it. Those type of bikes will be the next wave of interest after the naked bikes settle down

How do you compare XR's quick shifter vs Aprilia's one? I see a lot of trail braking - amazing work brother! Please do more of that front facing camera, so we can see actual work behind those forks 😄
The 2021's RSV4 quickshifter was flawless, very smooth. The XR's QS is also very good, but I've caught myself rushing it a few times and the gears haven't gone in, operator error, really.

Secret is technique, which he has and you have. Nice throttle and brake control as well as head and body position. Quick question - SpT1200RS v XR?
Hey Cuban. I have a 2016 bmw s1000xr and I noticed at over 120mph it starts to wiggle a bit. What can I do to help prevent a wobble at higher speeds? I almost wonder if I'm not leaning over the tank enough. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you love watching your videos.

I know I'm late to the party, but posting my question just in case. How are you able to roll on so much in the corners while leaned way over, and not lose the rear?
I try to avoid maximum lean angle, but when I'm fully leaned I get on the gas slowly, very progressive even though in the video it doesn't look like it. That and amazing traction control on the BMW.

great ride!! I guess with a new s1000 rr you can go faster but it's cool to see a tourer do like this, amazing... this is your daily motorcycle or you keep it just for track?? also how would you compare power cup 2 vs supercorsa SC in confidence and durability? waiting for the .25 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Luca. It's still a street bike, I just do a couple of things to get it ready for the track (check the videos before this one). I have ridden a couple of times on the Supercorsa and it hasn't inspired the confidence that this Cup 2s do. I know people go very quickly on the Pirelli, but I am sold on the Michelin, the grip and feel are excellent.
@@CubanRider nice, thanks... I will check the your videos and try power cup 2, many people say about the confidence of them, especially front of bike... cheers from 🇧🇷👍🏻
Hi there, I'm considering shift from my panigale to an XR. Does you get knee down comfortably on it? I had a Multistrada before and I was used to being bothered by the annoying central stand
I have a friend who dragged the center stand on his Multi a lot. On the XR we don't have that issue. The pegs drag before anything else drags, and by that point you're getting plenty of knee-dragging angle. I did remove the center stand on mine, but I haven't heard any complaints even from those that have installed rearsets.
I wouldn't risk it on sport touring tires, probably a good 10 seconds slower. The lap timer gets activated with the bright light flashing switch, my buddy with the other XR showed me how to do it at the track.
What mods do you advice to make the bike lighter/faster? 🤗 I've been watching all your video's but you make different kinds of content 🤭 could you list Them? 🤗

great ride!!
I will check the your videos and try power cup 2, many people say about the confidence of them, especially front of bike... cheers from 🇧🇷👍🏻
Amazing! Great riding Sir!
Thanks Mark. 🤙
Braking deep bro awesome to watch
Perfect front fork performance 👌
Stock suspension?
yes sir
Awesom rider 🔝 which tyres are you using?
Amazing! Did you have your bike tuned? I’ve watched a lot of videos on the ‘21 XR and most are saying it lacks a little power.
Yes, this one is tuned. The 2nd gen is actually faster, it just feels more refined.
@@CubanRider Cool, I appreciate it!
@@CubanRider thanks man! Keep on riding fast and safe.
You know how to use the lap timer ? Lol what time on sport touring rubber do you think ?
I wouldn't risk it on sport touring tires, probably a good 10 seconds slower. The lap timer gets activated with the bright light flashing switch, my buddy with the other XR showed me how to do it at the track.
Que pista tan divina... Y ese misil cometa rojo!!!! Bárbaro...!!!
Saludos Terry.
@@CubanRider 😃🤙🤙🤙🤙
I'm glad you took the mirrors off
Cuban, I've been meaning to ask you, are you still very happy with your BT ECU tune? Anything you would change? Cheers
Still have it, still running great. The only changes I would make is to run the race fuel map, but I'm too cheap for MR12.
@@CubanRider Excellent, thank you for your feedback! MR12 would be an interesting experiment, but a pity it is so expensive.
What mods do you advice to make the bike lighter/faster? 🤗 I've been watching all your video's but you make different kinds of content 🤭 could you list Them? 🤗
Maybe on the next video 🙂
You are crazy my friend!do you have traction control off during the session or not?
Oh yes, saving my behind constantly.
@@CubanRider so you have traction control on and you are on dynamic pro right?I ask you these tips because I am going to race for the first time on track this Sunday...
@@pakiskaralis Correct
You and that one bike jumping the S’s 😂
Wait until you see the bloopers on this one. 😜
What year(production) is the bike? I want a s1000xr second hand and I don't know what to expect! I like very much how you drive!👍👏👏👏
Mine was built in August 2015, but came in to the US as a 2016 model. Amazing machines. 🤘
Can you please tell me if you did some modification on it? I can't believe how smooth you ride, it's just a pleasure watching you and I want Soo much an XR like yours! Please tell me if yours have modification or specific setup for track day! Love your video! ❤❤❤❤❤
You trail brake quite deep in to the corner almost to the apex, then throttle out. Impressively minimal neutral time!
Thanks, and very good observation. That was the goal for this track day, try to eliminate neutral time whenever possible.
@@CubanRider Thank you, I'm a new track rider, and this is one area my coaches have been helping me with. Looking forward to seeing more of this angle in your future vids!
@@saltyprocrastinator that's awesome, looks like you're getting quality coaching. 🤙
Awesome as always!
Thanks man
Was it the Power Cup’s that came on the 890R that sold you on those tires?
Absolutely. Amazing tires.
Multistrada v4 and 1290gt are more powerfull , but on the track?
If you want to talk about straight line fast, the king of the sport tourers is the H2 SX, but that one will not hold a candle to the XR at the track either.
Thats not an adventure bike. Damn those leans 👌🏻🔥
What brake pads do you run bro? The XR is like 50lb heavier than my S1000R, Also which tires do you run?
Hey Matheus. I have the pads, fluid, tires and pressures in the video description. 🤙
@@CubanRider Thanks, Got PowerCup2 33.5/24.5Hot for this season, ran Power GP before, loved them.
Castrol SRF too lol
Used EBC HH before and thinking on going Vesrah XX pads, the GPFAX are not DOT street legal and seem like require bit of heat and may be little touchy, was thinking EPFA but the SRJL-XX has more positive reviews experience
@@matheusrgomes you're on the right track man. I read glowing reviews of the Vesrah stuff, so you should be very happy. I continued to get the EBC stuff due to availability I guess, can't say nothing bad about them. The HH are not really up to track abuse though.
