Hello Angela! Thank you so much for making this video. It's super helpful. I recently started my application (including the Ecctis stuff and HPI visa itself). On the application it asks you to indicate the date in which you plan to arrive to the UK. Then there's a widget about "Why is this information important" and the language includes the following: "If your application is successful, you will be granted a visa to enter the UK. The visa will only be valid for entry to the UK for 90 days. If your visa expires before you travel to the UK, you will have to apply for a replacement visa. After you arrive in the UK, you will collect a biometric residence permit, which will show that you have permission to remain in the UK." Given the above text and your experience with the application can you, does the date you indicate of arrival to the UK the date in which your HPI visa starts and 90 days prior to that date you're on the tourist visa? For example, if I say August 4 is when I apply to arrive to the UK, does that mean that my HPI visa will start on August 4 (i.e., your 24 months start from this date) and the tourist visa would start May 4 (90 days prior to date of arrival)? Would you be able to explain the logic of the date of arrival and how the 24 months is factored into it?
Thank you for this informative video! I just learned about this visa and I qualify for this! I hope to live in London for a little bit, even if it’s just a year or two to travel or explore life outside of America :)
Thank you for this video! I am filling out the Ecctis form and I am unsure to fill out the HPI visa or the HPI visa with English proficiency. I went to the school in the US, and was taught in English and I am a US citizen.
Thank you Angela! The vedio is really helpful. The University of Hong Kong is English taught school. Does that mean I have to get my English level verified? Further more, how could I determine whether or not I supposed to verify my English depending on which school I graded?
Hi, Angela! Thanks for the informative video. Do we need to give biometrics if the UK govt already has them? I went for my Masters to the UK and they took them for the BRP back then too.
@angelazheng535 Hi Angela, super helpful video! A few questions on once you receive your approved visa. Does the 2-year period start on the date you enter the UK? I was unaware of the up to 90 day period to enter the UK, and it would be great to apply but not have to move until later in the summer without missing time on the visa (and booking a flight out in advance to save money). Another question I had is my cutoff for "within" the 5-year graduation date is this coming May. If I submit the application online before this date, will I be in the clear? Or will I have to be approved before my graduation date.
Hi Angela, Did you use a bachelor's degree to apply? In the results that Ecctis sent you, regarding the "UK qualification level", is it referred to as a "Bachelor (Honours) degree" or a "Bachelor degree"?
A question: How many days will it take to receive your residence permit once you arrive to UK just during this 3 months period ? or there is no need for a residence permit as the visa is valide for three year
Thanks for your video! I’m applying this visa with my unmarried partner, and there’s few information about what partner should prepare. I’m wondering if you would offer this reference,I’ll be super grateful!!!
Hi Angela, I have a question please. (Thanks for this great video btw!) After entering the UK within 90 days, are there any residency limitations you are aware of? Like, are you allowed to travel freely on multiple occasions or does it say you need continuous residence like with the Leave to Remain? I appreciate your help!
Thanks for the video. I graduated from one of the qualifying universities in May 2017, do you have an idea when is the latest time I can apply for the HPI visa? As I see it has a 5 years qualifying window
No problem! Glad I can help, I believe this would be your last year of applying counting from 2017. I would double check by contacting the UK Home Office. You can do so by googling contacting UK home office and go from there!
Hey @IBK Adereti, I have the same question. Did you find a resolution after talking to the people at the UK home office? I graduated with a Master's from UW-Madison in May 2017, and want to understand if there's still time to apply? It seems like there we can since it says if you're degree was awarded from November 2016 to October 2017, it's fine, but I'm also seeing that you should have graduated 5 years before you apply. And by this logic, I'm out of time. Any help will be appreciated, thanks! And thanks so much to Angela for putting this together! It's really useful for people like us to apply since there seem to be so few resources out there!
Hi Angela, the fee include health insurance. Can I be refund if I can’t get the visa or not entre UK finally? And did they check your original document of the degree?
Hello, your video is really useful. I have a question. Actually, I will graduate from a Chinese university this month, which is included in the HPI visa list. I am a doctoral student. At present, I am in Hangzhou, China. I'm confused about the bank statement. Do I need a statement from the Bank in China? Or do I need to open an account with a British bank? In addition, if it is the statement from Chinese bank , then how much do you suggest I put (RMB) in Chinese bank account for Bank statement?
Thank you for the lovely comment! As for your question, I just uploaded my ICBC Bank Statement it needs to have a balance and need to be in English. I put around 60K RMB in there!
Thank you for the video really helpful, if my visa is approved can I come to the UK just to collect my BRP resident permit and get back to the UK after 6 months? I can't move right away
Thank you Angela! This was super helpful! Official website says, the visa is valid for 90 days to enter into the UK and if it expires, the person needs to apply for replacement visa. What happens to my visa if I apply and get approved but I don't end up moving to UK?
Great question 😂 It seems like you can’t get a refund after you submit your fingerprints to the visa office. But prior to submitting fingerprints you can request a refund.
@@angelazheng535 Suppose I got approved in 2022 and don't move to UK in the next 90 day period. What If I want to go after 1-2 years (assuming all this is within the original 5 year criterion). Could I then still re-apply in the future?
This visa I believe can only be applied once. They give you the 90 days so you can pick up your BRP resident permit within 10 days of arrival. I also wish we can reapply, but maybe if you never step foot in the UK you can? I would email/call the Home Office for confirmation
@@angelazheng535 If Imay, how much balance did you show in your bank statement? I am aware of the least amount that needs to be shown but I am curious to find out if there is an unofficial minimum threshold to get approved which is higher than the official amount
How "easy" is it to find a job once you have this visa? I'm interested in doing it to find a job
Thank you so much :)

Good information. But it is just few Universities on the list. I think there are other ways for professionals with master and work experience.

If a person has an online degree from one of those listed universities, do you know if they can still apply for this visa?
yes i think, have u appied?
