  • No power steering, or air conditioning in your car? It could be the serpentine belt. In today's video I replace the belt in my 2005 Acura TL. This could of course be translated for many other makes/models, the belt routing will be the most important thing to take notice of when working on other vehicles.
Like all my videos, do this at your own risk. If you don't feel comfortable working under the hood, hire a professional.
Thanks to my friend Scott on the Belt Tensioner Wrench idea!

Good video. I'm replacing an alternator on my 07 TL, it was a little tight to get the belt off but now I can't get it back on. The tension is pulled away full lock. Any advice how to proceed? Is that a sign of a bad tensioner?

That's a good question. Does it reset at all? It's possible the tensioner is tired.

Its usually easier if the last thing you slide over is a smooth pully .
Its also easier if you can get some help and have someone pushing on the tensioner while you slide it on .
With some cars you can remove the passenger side wheel and inner cover to gain more access to the belt pulleys.

Sorry I have to say you're talking too much you don't show the direction of the belt
