      Totally agree and thoroughly enjoy the videos and look forward to watching more. I feel the same way about Darko Audio too, both in a niche category of audio reviewers.

    Thanks for this honest review. At least I prefer this than those just talking about the good things of the speaker rather than avoiding their weakness. What we want to hear is just honest and personal experience about the performance of the equipment in your setup.

    Sounds like the fyne’s haven’t found a way the solved the issues the previous Tannoy speakers suffered with .
    I have been offered a massive discount on the SP version and had hoped the harsh sounding trait wouldn’t be a problem.
    Have you heard the F500sp version?

    Can these Triangles do justice to heavier genres? Will classic rock/hard rock sound sufficiently full and dynamic on these in a small room (4x3 meters)?

    • @SmallRoomAudio
      @SmallRoomAudio  2 года назад

      I’d be adding a subwoofer for hard rock, and you’d need a decent amount of volume to get some kick, but yes they can rock out! 🎸 Klipsch or JBL is the way to go for more aggressive and dynamic attack though 👍

    • @bluerev

      @@SmallRoomAudio Thanks! Klipsch's do seem to have their own problems though (too bright and fatiguing). Looking for something that strikes a good balance there.

    Have you ever listened to the Triangle Plaisir series, either Zeta or Lmmyas? If so, how does the Bro 2 compare?

    • @SmallRoomAudio
      @SmallRoomAudio  3 года назад

      I haven’t heard those ones unfortunately

    • @nc3419
      @nc3419 Год назад

      I prefer the Plaisir Zetas I have over the Bro 2 which I demoed at home. The Bro 2 if I remember correctly had a bit larger or taller soundstage but the Zetas to me sounded much more musical along the whole frequency range. Instruments and voice sounded more natural too. I also have the Martin Logan 15i (used with a small sub), which are more forward and punchy for movies but the Zetas are great for alot of music especially if you want a bit more relaxed but still detailed listen. I could live with either for both movies or music but I would slant the 15i more for movies and the Zetas more for music. The Zetas can give a bit more glare in sibilant passages with movie soundtracks but less so with music. The Zetas are a softer, lighter listen overall if that makes any sense.
      Definitely a target if a nice pair of Zetas or the Color series come up for sale used at a decent price. The tweeter uses a titanium dome recessed in a horn like structure that isn't apparent as say an Esprit Titus EZ and the small 5.25 inch woofer gives alot of warmth without bass sounding too flabby, but it is a v shaped frequency curve making the mids a bit more laid back, hence more geared for music (especially vocals) if you like a more relaxed, softer presentation but without sounding veiled. I wanted an EZ for a while but don't think I would gain anything of significance over what I currently have. Also would like to hear a Lumina II but moving up to those prices, for a little more there are other options as well.
      I have the 15i, Zetas, Dali Opticon 1 for desktop and Cambridge MinXLs. Liked all but the MinXl over the Menuet SE as well which I found too refined and didn't bring out some detail in tracks which were there even if more resolving than all of them. In resolution, the Opticon 1 (close enough to the Menuet SE) is most, then the 15i, then the Zetas, and lastly thre MinXL.
      More money buys some improved qualities but not always in all areas, and you may find something higher priced lacking in some other area or too hard to drive without expensive and powerful gear, which I also own, The four I have are easily driven by a 40 watt amp though, even though they are under 8 ohms. What you miss most IMO at budget levels than when you spend more money is a bit of texture or inner details of instruments, maybe some instrument separation adding to stage depth, but all are very good or good enough, so I am hesitant moving up in price given the SPLs I listen at.
      More expensive speakers can do better in certain areas and at louder SPL levels in comparison to more budget options but even that isn't always the case either, in my experience to justify the more expensive purchase. If I ever move to where I can play a bit louder though without angering the neighbors, there are a few considerations at those higher price levels I'd like to try.

    Having auditioned both with an IOTAVX SA3, I must say, the F500 are much more muscular, with more tight bass and an incredible soundstage. Where they lack is openness and details in the highs. The Borea is audibly a lower tier speaker. They are very good for their price, but the bass is much looser, suppresses some of the mids and the highs are of the "entertaining"-style. Also they were much more fussy with placement.
    The BR03's get a lot of hype but I did not see why.

      Because the soul of the music is in the midrange not the treble nor the bass.

      Dude, how the hell else can you get reviews online? The only way is to listen to a bunch of opinions. Would you prefer they play the speakers for us? I hate those types of reviews. You can't have any sort of accurate assessment from someone playing a speaker in a video. In lieu of a physical store, you find reviewers you trust and hear their opinions.

      Dude, I would preffer both, and verbal opinion and some sound. But just someone which to say "it sound in this way" or "in that way" or "so and so", without to let us to hear something, even if we hear through our speakers, if the record is well made, you can figure in generaly, about how it is the sound, it's not enough for believe him.
      The sound is something subjective, everyone hears the sound in their own way, (see? and ours opinions, between us, differs), just hearing words from someone about how he perceives the sound, is not enough, at least for me.
      And I didn't understand, dude, you're his lawyer or why are you answering for in his place?! .... dude.

      @@Orpheuss62 Because people in the audio hobby seem to know less and less about audio. You cannot recreate the sound of a speaker into a RUclips video. You would have to factor in the microphone, and whatever speakers, DACs, and amps you have in your system and all other components in-between. You can't really recreate the decibels exactly or how the pressure hits.
      If you want to hear different speakers and systems go to a store and test them out. Online reviews are to hear trusted opinions. RUclips channels that play music for you to hear are dumb af.

      @@mrjuanderfuI To listen someone impression, which are pure subjective, it's the same as listening though youtube. How can I form an idea about some speakers, through someone subjective opinion. Maybe for him sound very well, but this isn't a rule that it will sound also very well for someone else.
      That's why I said that maybe is better to put and some sound, because if it is good recorded, at least me, I can figure out about hou are they sound better than after his words and tastes which can be more than sure, different than mines.
