She's realising that she doesn't really know her own children😢😅😂
Martin sitting down with a total....wtf expression
No, she’s just saying she doesn’t know them, remember they all had nannies. This is unfortunately not unusual.
Also, as I understand it, Prince Phillip ruled the household.
You do realise that this is a drama not real ?
Yea that's awkward
😂😂😂 she wants a report of her children's hobbies, interests and so forth...before their meeting...😂😂😂 HILARIOUS!!!
At least she asked
It's not real... we have no idea how close they all were. Personally, I'm not convinced at all that she was that... remote
'remotely remote' 😆
The life of royals might be a life of luxury but frequently not a life of love.
You sound like Harry 🤣
@@rosebud040686 are you always a dick, or is today just special?
@@rosebud040686 It probably IS Harry posting, lol!
@@VirgoCatleesi😂😂
One thing I love about posh English is how one uses "One" instead of "I" when speaking of anything remotely negative. I'd really like to acquire that as a habit, mainly because it feels so classy 😅
I use it all the time! 🤣 very effective at keeping oneself at a distance from others ;)
‘One’ is sometimes used to replace ‘me, myself’ etc
It is awfully formal. Not once have I heard it uttered with that meaning in 15 years since I have been living in the UK. Sometimes I use it when I wish to confer some formality on conversations with my students, but I do it half formally, half humorously.
Only the upper echelons use it. Even Margaret Thatcher was ridiculed, rightly so, for using “one” to describe herself when talking to the press in the ‘80s
One uses it all the time
Remote. Sadly true. She felt her life HAD to be this way.
This is fiction. Nobody knows beyond the vaguest of anecdotes, from family friends and guests, how close any of them were.
Seriously the number of people who give any credence to the depictions of behind closed doors conversations, that there isn't even a record of ever happening let alone what was said, is frightening.
He was one of Edith's guys in Downton Abbey!
He is Edith's baby daddy.
Exactly! I was thinking why he is so familiar 😂
@@21KJH Yes, and the actor who plays the young Martin Charteris in the first two seasons of The Crown also plays Edith's husband Bertie Pelham in Downton Abbey.
This conversation seems surreal. The scene might have been added with a view to exaggerating the remoteness of the Queen. But I really doubt that she would have asked her private secretary to give her a list of hobbies of her own children, who were all but Edward in their 20s at that point. She may have been a distant mother, but this is just another level of carelessness: I don’t think for a second it was accurate. If it was, the Queen was a very bad mother.
I hope the Crown will come on blu-ray disc I did not get to see it on Netflix
It's a treat & even if only half true, it will make you feel normal and love your life.
@LaSorciereFeuillue ,
I really want to see it the close I seen it is video here on RUclips
Doubt it, isn’t it a Netflix original? Get it to watch it and then cancel it!
Love the actress
I love this part in Harry Potter
😂
Geez how sad.
I wish Charles Edwards had a bigger part in this show
What sort of mother needs a briefing on their child, then demands that someone else do it? The kind of mother that didn't see two of them for almost 2 years.
A Queen.
She was always a queen first, a mother...second or third ..😂
@@eballa90561st Queen 2nd wife 3rd mother
It’s fiction
The Queen You fool😂😂😂😂😂
The queen was from a different era. But I always thought her mum and dad were so loving towards herself and her sister Margaret.
Did he brief on Charlie's hobbies with Jimmy Savill?
Psychopathic traits?
According to Google, Hollywood Movies, and the MSDS these characters display posh but psychologic traits
How ironic the secretary was the actor who played THE ABDICATED KING her uncle way way back Elizabeth and Bertie tv series
Wow
If this is true it’s a wonder how any of them could lead a country. How sad for them!
She doesn't want to appear uninformed, what, or remote?
Cold.
@@allshookup1640 Thank you.
Netflix rubbish.
She had four?!
Like the late Queen was so daft that she didn't know her own children. The Crown, fiction.
I mean, it is common for parents who make their life their work
Have you read King Charles book? Maybe read that and then come back and talk.
Sounds like made up stuff for the movie ..
sad really. great Queen lousy mother
Can one be great at both?
And you believe the Crown? The Queen loved her children. Sadly, because of who she was, she had to put you lot first
Utter tosh
