This is what happens when Metal, Rock, Hardcore, and Country meet at a saloon to settle a dispute. Maylene and the Sons of disaster step in, negotiate, then BAM! We now have Saloon-core.
Dallas Taylor should deffinately be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame!!! All time amazing vocalist and all around an awesome dude!! #prayingforubro #trusonofthesouth
Man, I haven't heard this song in a long time, it just randomly popped into my head. I remember seeing these guys at the House of Blues in Chicago opening for All That Remains and Lacuna Coil back in 2009. None of us had any idea who they were until they got onstage and man, me and the group of people I was with were rocking the hell out to them, as well as the entire crowd! I've never had that much fun with an opening band before. I remember they just took the stage like they owned it and played like they didn't give a shit. I'm ashamed that I never got around to seeing them since then.
First time I seen MATSOD they opened with Inhale Exhale for August Burns Red in Little Rock, Arkansas. Crowd smaller than 100 people. MATSOD and IE... two great Christian bands who were greatful for every breath. ABR... acted like they deserved better and were very disrespectful to the crowd. Needless to say Maylene still put for a great effort and gave an awesome show. Much respect to MATSOD.
Saw them on the 21st with Saosin. Never heard them before that show but I fell in love with their music from the start. Even got to spend a few minutes talking to Dallas. Good group of guys for sure and they put on one hell of a show. Will definitely be catching them every time they come through here.
Too Tall Grizzly is a five-piece, hardcore-influenced rock band from central Connecticut with a freshly released EP, “Stream of Unconsciousness,” on Broken English Records. Fans of Gallows, Every Time I Die, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and The Chariot will definitely want to give Too Tall Grizzly a listen.
Really looking forward to seeing these guys. Never heard of them until I got tickets to go see All That Remains and noticed they are on the bill. Decided to check them out and was pleasantly surprised to find that they kick some serious ass.
i Agree totally with helper09shaggy. I didn't even know there was a second support act with Kse and in flames but these guys blew my mind :) I saw them in Antwerp last night and the show was awesome, Kse singer kept lauching with the guitarist (who was extremely funny indeed!). and In flames.. well, in flames was as awesome as always ^^
i had a chance to see these guys live about 14 months ago in yorkton with protest the hero...they were awesome!!!!!so many great rockin bands out there, just gotta look for them...like hogjaw, pumpjack and texas hippie coalition...
I saw these guys a bunch of times in Atlanta. They couldn't pull a lot of these songs off live well for some reason. Dallas always struggled with Step Up.
I just have to say that i'm a fan of both Underoath and Maylene and the sons of disaster, and i think that dallas' switch was for the best because his voice is awsome in this band, and this style of music really features his voice; he's got a really nice southern metal voice. With that said i believe that Spencer's voice suits Underoath more than dallas' did. Both bands rock!!! XD
Holy crap!! check this out!! its actually a MUSIC VIDEO!!! O_O stop bitching at each other about what u like and what u don't like and just enjoy the damn music. Seriously guys, what are you, 5?
yeah I met him at a show and he is like the craziest front man on stage, I got on stage and we headbanged and then he threw me into the crowd haha but like after the show he was like the nicest guy haha
I saw them with Lacuna Coil and All That Remains. They KICK ASS live. I went to both the Michigan and Georgia show -- Georgia responded amazingly. I got my ass kicked during their performance.
I seen these guys twice. once with clutch and murder by death and once with underoath, etid, and poison the well. both shows were incredibly good.he really gets into it and jumps into the pit and gives people fives and whatnot
This is totally like a heavier The Showdown (another freakin' awesome Christian band); gotta love the southern, whiskey-soaked metal from outta the swamps! These dudes rock hard for Jesus, metal the way its meant to be!
***** Well, yeah you're right but in the way they changed it is. At least in my opinion. Back in the they you had a pretty unique metalcore band which was fun to listen with a plenty of good instrumental work and interesting southern influences. Now you have just a metalcore band which surely isn't bad but I could easily confuse them for example with Of mice & men. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm afraid they changed primarily for the money.
My buddy asked them at a signing why they don't have that badass southern style anymore and they said it's because it "didn't sell." They said no one wants to pay for 0-3-5-7-8 anymore. Sounds like sell outs to me..
So stoked to see them back and that Dallas is recovering!

Exactly, listen to what you like, and never stop searching for new amazing music. Cheers!
maylene will never reach the magnitude underoath has playing a genre like this. It appeals to a much smaller audience.

Really looking forward to seeing these guys. Never heard of them until I got tickets to go see All That Remains and noticed they are on the bill. Decided to check them out and was pleasantly surprised to find that they kick some serious ass.

Dry the River is amazing.
Still listening in 2022, and they just announced a reunion in Birmingham!!!!

dallas' not being in underoath is the best thing that could have happened to him ever. he fits in this band like a freaking glove.

BSC is one of the best bands around...you know John Fred Young's Dad and Uncle were in the Kentucky Headhunters? frickin awesome
that good
saw them last night :)
What memphis may fire could have sounded like if they didn't sell out.
***** It's quite simple, just listen the first album and then something newer, I'm sure you will figure it out-
***** Well, yeah you're right but in the way they changed it is.
That was not the subject, not even my point.
*****
But I was considering a natural progression, which is, in many cases
to soften the style a bit.
My buddy asked them at a signing why they don't have that badass southern style anymore and they said it's because it "didn't sell." They said no one wants to pay for 0-3-5-7-8 anymore. Sounds like sell outs to me..
amen
