I listened to many guitar performance of Schubert's pieces, and it's the first time I can say that an arrangement and interpretation are absolutely schubertian. You are great artists. Thank you so much....
We have a very similar taste in music, since the first two videos Ive seen of yours, are from my favorite pieces/movements. Very cool this arrangements, cant wait to see if you have more on your channel!!
This is my most favorite piece of music! Having it transcribed for two guitars is amazingly enchanting! I'm deeply moved by your interpretation! Thank you!
As someone who has long relished listening to the classical guitar, I've always regretted the comparative paucity of recordings of the instrument playing the early romantic repertoire, as it really seems to fit the works of this period, particularly Schubert. These two gentlemen do Franz proud!
Some scholars believe Schubert arrangers many of his pieces playing guitar, because he was bedridden much of his life, his pieces had guitar like chords, and he was known to play the guitar.
Exactly! I was thinking exactly the same thing when picking up the piece for piano - the key very much reinforces this idea for me, the whole piece with its arpegiatted style, the unexpected modulations, which make total sense on guitar instrument but arent so apparent on piano. Im so happy this performance exists, you can hear it works on guitar(s) perfectly well
Absolutely beautiful, both Schubert and your performance. Listening to it many times.!!so glad to have discovered you yesterday. Also your Vivaldi and beethoven.thank you so much!!
Wonderful playing. I think Schubert would like it. I also like the sound recording quality. Both guitars sound very natural, without hidden echoes that kill expression (vibratos are clear and so are colors of sound). I compared this sound to the sound of your Vivaldi Concerto in D (which is also nicely played) and I find this sound to be better and more expressive. Whatever changes were done to the recording settings worked well. Thanks.
Honestly Drew, you two inspire me to take my playing to the next level. I will arrange this for one guitar and play it. I don't care how long it takes me. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏿
One of my favorite pieces Some years ago I worked out an arrangement for solo guitar, but I felt.that.the guitar couldn't really to justice to this beautiful piece so I never played it. It is beautifully played here, but ot took 2 guitars...
Extraordinary musicianship in every way definable. And what a talent with the 8-String guitar, the perferred instrument of my teacher, José Tomás. He'd be very impressed.
People who dislike this definitely don't know anything about playing a guitar, at all. I came to RUclips to see if somebody had made a cover of this magnus opus, and this video perfectly described what I was looking for. I wish someday I could play it just like you did. The 8 string guitar --- an absolute marvel. A round of applause for you, guys. Very, very well deserved.
It really gets the job done, and well. The first time I heard the piece was from these guys, and I thought it was the bee's knee's until I heard Horowitz's 80's performance. They do an amazing job but, I still think it's better as a piano piece.
It is inspiring to see how well two players can create a coherent interpretation of a work. My mate and I are going to have to work on it! A lovely presentation. Thank you.
Estos dos artistas extraen de sus guitarras entonaciones de la voz humana, terriblemente emotivas. Esta música es un bálsamo para el alma dolorida. Gracias.
One of the most beautiful Piano pieces Ive ever encountered. It sounds so modernly beautiful by today's standards yet, It seems to me it has not yet been discovered by mainstream media. I can see this piece becoming as well known as claire de lune, or Pathetic mvt.2 if some director were to use it tastefully in a movie. wonderful arrangement as well.
This piece was originally published and arranged by me for two guitars over twenty years ago and was recorded on my independent label, Concert Hall Records. The title of the CD is: Forgotten Romance by the Odeum Guitar Duo, (classical guitarists, Robert Wetzel & Fred Benedetti) and the CD was officially chosen by NASA in 2011 to fly aboard the twenty-fifth and final flight of the United States Space Shuttle, ENDEAVOUR, traveling to the International Space Station and back, completing many orbits around the earth and then returning to earth from outer space for a total of 6.5 million miles!
This duo is seamless. What a pleasure!
How do you get better than this? Superb musicality, technique and passion. What a gift to have this posted for free on RUclips.
Beautiful arrangement and beautiful played !! Thank you for sharing this wonderful music!
I listened to many guitar performance of Schubert's pieces, and it's the first time I can say that an arrangement and interpretation are absolutely schubertian. You are great artists. Thank you so much....
You made it sound as if it was composed for guitar. And it could, Bravo!
Everything sounds good on guitar because guitar is the best instrument at least that s what I keep telling myself to keep practicing
Schubert was guitarist too.
@@spir1tcs Guitar has the nicest tone in my opinion thats why piano pieces sound so good on guitar

Cannot express my gratitude for these efforts. What a gift for us. Thank you both.
The fact that we get these talents perform for us for free is an underappreciated gift.
Love that 8-string classical guitar. Sounds almost like a lute on the low notes!
As always, Schubert is confirmed as the most underrestimated genius... and the same applies to you gentlemen, thank you!!!
Très émue par votre interprétation. Félicitations et merci.
We have a very similar taste in music, since the first two videos Ive seen of yours, are from my favorite pieces/movements. Very cool this arrangements, cant wait to see if you have more on your channel!!
Thank you! Please stay tuned for more Bach, Brahms and Tedesco!
Takes my breath away everytime. Beautiful dynamics and the 8 strings guitar really adds something. Love your music!
Sehr schön, zauberhaft!
This is my most favorite piece of music! Having it transcribed for two guitars is amazingly enchanting! I'm deeply moved by your interpretation! Thank you!

heavenly!
I didn't imagine Schubert's masterpiece would sound so heavenly on guitars ❤
Bravo, gentlemen 🌹
I'm so glad I found this channel because this is sublime work
This is seriously cool! Seems as if the composer was thinking of the guitar all along! Thank you.

Schubert's progressions and modulations are gorgeous on the guitar.
Very beutiful! Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful! 🎶🎵🎧😊
Perfect arrangement literally! I'm so happy to listen to my favorite impromptu of Schubert's, played with guitars. Thank you very much.
Congratulations! Wonderful interpretation!....

Wonderful... Just wonderful.
Please come over and play this, and I will play along on the piano! You two are absolutely stellar!
Merveille d'interprétation.....
this sounds really different as i'm used to listening to this piece so much on the piano.. however it's very soothing to hear it on guitar i must say
So beautiful 😌😌
one year on and I still love this piece, thank you both
This is sooo beautiful! Now I believe Schubert wrote it for guitars.
Beautiful!
I have this on repeat, i don't know what to do with myself. Send help.
Honestly Drew, you two inspire me to take my playing to the next level. I will arrange this for one guitar and play it. I don't care how long it takes me. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏿
One of my favorite pieces

Fabulous you guys, what a wonderful duet! I would not have believed that this complex Shubert piece could be rendered on guitar.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you!
very beautiful music ❤
Extraordinary musicianship in every way definable. And what a talent with the 8-String guitar, the perferred instrument of my teacher, José Tomás. He'd be very impressed.
And to think, Franz Schubert only lived 31 years ...

alterI4 Well there was Gattaca (1997), but admittedly they used a slightly different version of the piece, and it wasn’t a terribly popular movie
C'est incroyable !!!!!! magnifique. Une réussite totale.
Fantastico duetto!Interpretare così è il mio sogno
Bravo
Equilíbrio, sonoridade, dinâmica, postura, integração ,pela musica, parabéns: Antonio Guedes.
