In the nicest way possible, what happened to Mariah’s voice? It sounds so strained now… she does so many “you ou ou ou ou ou ouuuus” now at the hard parts. Did she have something happen? Injury to her chords?
she's always had nodules and started her career with a damaged voice is the simplest way to put it. and then overworking your voice with some of the hardest songs in the mainstream makes it worse. with age they get bigger and harder. the disconnected runs are just so it's easier for her but she was still pretty fluid here
