One of the attractions of the Buffalo city is the Little Rock ship, part of the Naval & Military Park exposition. It is the last remaining Cleveland class light cruiser, which were famous for their numerosity and endurance, and were considered the heaviest light cruisers in the history of the US Navy. Learn about USS Little Rock!
Naval Legends is a series about the construction, service, and daring deeds of legendary 20th-century ships.

Damn, Cleveland OP even in real life.
swedish aa guns 40 mm ;-)
That my Cleveland :3
Now it was alright. I missed my 19km cleveland that was really op.
Nah fam, shes mine
NO, SHE MINE!
These battle scenes are _so_ much better than what the History Channel showed a decade ago.
True
History Channel doesn't give a shit about the accuracy of what it posts. WG does because they know that they will be showing it to a load of naval nerds like us. And this accuracy and quality shows.
+Nilin Lusankya so true =3
Just as long as it does not cover the Royal Navy... WG does not seem to think the British had a significant navy.
+thegeneral123 umm wargameing has stated that the Royal Navy would of Bin here by now if it weren't for the Royal Navy refusing to let wargameing use the design"s
jesus i love the animations in these series its like im actually watching these things happen... simply amazing
Your so right.
Nice!
Myoko has to have been one the most unlucky ships ever. She rammed a friendly cruiser of the same type at Midway, and then got bombed to nearly nothing. She survived, went for repairs, then got trashed again at Bougainville, where she rammed another friendly ship. She got repaired, then was sunk at the battle of Surigao Strait, but not before ramming a friendly ship one last time. Go home Myoko, you drunk.
R Anthony Rupp IV, reading about Warspite she was as unlucky as she rammed several times other RN warships.
Did she have the same captain for all those rammings and bombings?
IJN Myoko took part in the battle of Midway ( pretty much the entire Japanese navy was there) but was not involved in any engagement or combat.
You are thinking of heavy cruisers IJN Mogami and IJN Mikuma which collided when trying to dodge a reported American submarine.
Here is a review of the Japanese order of battle for Midway.
www.navweaps.com/index_oob/OOB_WWII_Pacific/OOB_WWII_Midway.php
You're getting Myoko confused with Mogami.
Mostly likely the crew drank sake before the battle
I still maintain that you guys should spin off a group that does full feature length historical war documentaries. I like these videos almost more than I like the game itself. I've always been a fan of WWI/WWII documentaries.
Like a remake of the old "Victory at Sea", that would be awesome!!
TheOtherBill Agreed. Or even something like a remake of the battle of Jutland or something. Would be epic. Or a complete history of Bismarck vs. Hood. etc. They'd be amazing at it. They could make serious cash too, methinks. Granted they'd have a lot of additional models to build but they already have quite a lot to start with.
how about a retexture of the animations on battle 360: enterprise i think those animations would look awesome and it would cover a huge portion of WWII
+logo1575 im agree with you i really want to see warggamming make animation about Lucky E
+YMT 1945 I want War gaming to add the Lucky E period.
Tier 8 premium
Japanese on Rabaul be like "Cheatland OP, plz nerf"

Fackin Cheatlands carry team.
+John Collins

im sorry i had to xd
I was thinking the same thing!!
Joe295398 yea! Another Mr. Magoo! Lol!
@@gamesghost2670 or :■■■ ■■■■■ ■■ (whatever the hell that means)
Who ever sees this
Have a great day and win some battles
It just makes me want to sink Clevelands in my Mogami :-)
It just makes me want to get the mioko
The Cleveland Class never saw action in WWII and the only surviving member of the class is the USS Little Rock here in Buffalo.
Robert Young b8 much?
Lmao "yOu iDiOt"
I served aboard the USS Oklahoma City CLG5 and USS Providence CLG6 in the early sixties. I have visited the USS Little Rock in Buffalo once and plan to visit it again before I get too old. The battle ships, carriers and destroyers get all the accolades from WWII. I don't remember ever seeing but one war movie with a cruiser in it and that was "In Harms Way" and it was a heavy cruiser, the USS Saint Paul CA73.
Me dad's was on the providence when they got the missiles he was there the first time they shot one off and set the deck on firer said it went off went out and turned around he said they shoot the second one off just so they didn't sink their self
I am a US Navy Veteran. Being from where the USS Little Rock is today, I’ve had the opportunity to do service on the great ship, along with Battleship New Jersey (BB-62), Destroyer USS The Sullivans (DD-537), and Submarine USS Croaker (SS-246). An ancestor of mine served on the Little Rock back in the 1950’s and 60’s, so I have bragging rights to having family essence in the ship. I have also toured and seen other museum ships at various locations, including (all have USS); Constellation, Torsk, Bowfin, Growler, Intrepid, Missouri, Yorktown, Laffey, Niagara, Lynx, Olympia, Becuna. But none to me can compare to the Little Rock. Long live the sole survivor of the Cleveland Class!
Very cool. I've visited the ships in buffalo a few times. I just visited the new jersey last summer boy was that cool.
Not as special as the North Carolina. North Carolina fought through the thick of every major battle in WW 2 and then took a torpedo hit and then she went on to protect the most famous war tested ship the US has ever had in it's History the USS Enterprises and shot down almost 20 aircraft with her first battle with THE BiG E!
Hayden Maxwell Fact: the north carolina also had a vibrating hull on its launching
Yorktown sunk at Midway, so unless you dived to see it the only Yorktown class ship you saw was enterprises(cv-6). Soul survivor of the Yorktown class and because the Japanese didn't know there was more than one Yorktown class ship, it got the name gray ghost.
Thanks for serving shipmate... USS BLUERIDGE ( COM 7TH FLEET) USS COONTZ DDG40 1980-1986
Cleveland : "In FCS, we trust"
Sendai : "Cleveland OP, plz nerf"
Myoko : "F*ck you, Cleveland!"
Myoko, warning for causing damage to ally Hatzukaze
Hatzukaze : "MYOKO! THAT'S MY BOW!!!"
Myoko : "Sorry"
Cleveland : "Ha!ahhahaha xD"
"HA!"
Me uses midway class carrier to ram cruiser for no reason.
"She has the only 6 inch gun in the world".
Odd, I've visited HMS Belfast, she has several of those.
Original Cleveland class 3x6inch turret is what he probably ment
BAP Almirante Grau also says hello. Doesn't just have 6" guns, but still in active service too.
+Niall Stevens same and i am from South Africa
i was just gonna say that. plus i visited HMS Caroline today and she had 6 inch guns
I think what we have here is American delusions. Just like Russian delusions. In those eyes, the Royal Navy essentially does not exist. Hence 2 RN ships in WoW.
I realize Wargaming is Russian, yet I am honored as an American that they took such care and attention to an even and truly honest way of informing us of our collective history. No matter who becomes president in November; I have and will always maintain that our two countries can achieve a lasting peace. We need to always remember that in WW2 we fought and died for the same cause.
I apologize for being political, I just REFUSE to believe that Russia and America are destined to always be rivals or enemies!
Well said sir
I served over 21 years, and I believe the same thing. We can be friends and allies. We have more in common with them and Europe than a LOT of other parts of the world. We have worked some with them in the past, on occasions. We will not be enemies forever unless the Governments keep it that way.
Sometimes being rivals is a good thing, not always a bad thing.
The USA has a huge amount of museum ships and is very cooperative.
If "collusion" means Trump and Putin talking about ways for the US and Russia not to nuke the fuck out of each other, let them collude all they want. Hell, they could have gay sex in the Kremlin and I wouldn't care so long as it saves us from unintentional atomic fuckups that might otherwise kill us all. Each of them knows and understands that the other wants what's best for his country, and they respect each other for that.
I will never look at my Myoko the same again...
LOL !!! he sunked an allied destroyer
i can't imagine what that DD's captain gonna say LOL...
Myoko TKer, damnit!
i guess that's a Fog Cruiser for ya.
+Chris Droste lol
+Chris Droste the Myoko wasn't a fog Cruiser it was Japanese or was it I need to watch the anime again
trollveland to stronk blizzart plz nerff.
On more serious note, I want night battles. With flares and stuff like on the animation, that would be increible awesome.
I second this suggestion.
The animations with the music were very well done. Wish we could get the game to look like that!
Yeah just from playing the game as soon as they said the Japanese sent aircraft against the Clevelands I INSTANTLY felt bad for those airmen
Not really, you just need enough planes
I served 1971-1972 with Vice Admiral Gordon Nagler and a then Lt. and now our current Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus. BTW the most decorated enlisted sailor in US History also served on the USS Little Rock!
James E Williams was the most highly decorated enlisted man in the history of the U.S. Navy. On May 14, 1968 the President of the United States, in the name of Congress, presented him the Medal of Honor. His other awards include:
Medal of Honor
Navy Cross
Silver Star (2)
The Legion of Merit (with Combat V),
The Navy and Marine Corp Medal (2)
Bronze Star (3)
Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Gold Star and Palm
Navy Commendation Medal
Presidential Unit Citation (2)
Purple Heart (3)
Vietnam Service Medal (1 star)
Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal
National Defense Service Medal (1 star)
United Nations Service Medal
Korean Service Medal (2 stars)
Korean Presidential Unit Citation
Good Conduct Medal (5)
A error or two, the Talos missile system wasn't a cruse missile, but a ramjet missile with a solid rocket booster that was the largest surface to air system ever deployed by the USN. They where used to good effect in Vietnam and reportedly chased one MIG under a bridge before intercepting it's target. The Talos was designed to deal with Soviet bomber formations and had a interesting fragmentation pattern and a powerful nuclear warhead option. The 6" guns where completely worn out during the Vietnam war and when our crew from the USS Ajax star-gauged (measured barrel wear) of the USS Oklahoma City my unofficial report was " what the hell do you do, wrap the projectile with duct tape to get any kind of seal?" The barrels where that bad. Excellent ships but really worn out.
That made me chuckle....From Naval Rifles to Naval Smoothbores via 4000 rounds!
Went to Gunnery school in Great Lakes NTC. Green glass building outside. Various weapons systems inside. Then classrooms inside of that. One was the Talos. Then the 5"54 MK45 gun. Used to look up at the talos system and just say to myself "holy crap! That missile is huge!" Had the sparrows on my destroyer and they were tiny compared to by then outdated talos..
We carried Terriers, but I was fortunate enough to watch the Albany shoot a Talos during a live fire exercise, that was just about the coolest missile shot ever, so big, heavy and slow it seemed like it would never get down the rail, it seemed like half of the initial stage burned before the missile even started moving down the rail! Even though the “3 Ts” were the Navy’s first go round of guided missiles in the 60s to the early 70s, they did the job, and did it well! (Talos, Terrier, Tartar) vacuum tube technology!
I was TALOS Missile Computer Officer on Little Rock 1960-1962. When first commissioned in 1960 she was top heavy. We nearly capsized on our first cruise off Cape Hatteras. Added lots of pig iron which helped stability, but she always had an uncomfortable roll. CLG-4 has a very active veterans association, with annual reunions. See website.
It’s cool to see other countries from all over appreciating ships from everywhere
10:44 Bougainville (1 November 1943 - 21 August 1945), "the first US offensive operation against Japan", really? The Guadalcanal Campaign (7 August 1942 - 9 February 1943) came before Bougainville .
Thanks. Ive learned a hellva lot watching your videos about what went on in WW2 and all the ships that fought.
The Cleveland Class Cruisers actually played an important role in escort of larger ships, shore bombardment and surface engagements in the Pacific during WWII. While the aircraft carriers and battleships got most of the attention for the Navy, the light cruisers were so flexible and capable that their support proved vital to the advancement and attack on Rabaul, the largest Japanese naval and air base in SE Asia. We hear about the battleships that survived Pearl Harbor and were repaired, the Iowa Class battleships that came later and certainly the aircraft carriers that carried the fight over long distances, but the light cruisers were just as important. When we are able to fill out the history of our Navy during WWII it is amazing.
If you visit Buffalo NY You'll also see the USS Sullivans as well. The ships are in excellent condition and the tour is really great! It took a special treaty exception BTW to display the two ships because Canada and the US decided a long time ago not to militarize or fortify their border and also not to have a naval presence on the great lakes. Unfortunately NY state could not get the USS Rochester or the USS Albany before they were scrapped. And of course we completely missed the boat when the USS New York, sister ship to the USS Texas, was up for scrapping. What a pity!
Don't forget the Gato Class Submarine USS Croaker, she is there as well
the correct designation for the ship that you mention is the USS The Sullivans
My brother served on this ship, as well as the USS King. as CIC. I couldn't be more proud.
Another great addition to the series. I will be holding my breath for the Bismarck or Warspite.
I hope we get to see a post-war Cleveland one day in WOWS. If we have HMS Tiger 1959, we should have Little Rock 1960 as well.
We need her with the Talos missiles, basically long-range super accurate flak.
the USS Little Rock is stationed 35 miles from my home. I have been on the ship and have taken the tours. I enjoyed seeing the ship inside and outside.
I'm so close to getting a Cleveland. Then I will finally have the USS Duluth (CL-87). Named after my hometown.
I was on the LITTLE ROCK and the SULLIVANS for my navy youth program was on it for a week. Sadly I didn’t get to go on the CROKER by both of them
Holy $hit, Cleveland had a ship class named after it?!?! Talk about learning something new everyday.
It’s more like it was named after the class but same either way.
i live in Buffalo NY and see her all the time. shes a wonderful ship, but shes in really bad shape and needs more visitors to get the money to fix her. i actually work on her with a friend of mine who does reenacting work and runs a mini museum in her. its a wonderful time plus you get to see the USS sulivans (fletcher class DD) and the USS croaker (a sub of some type). she actually took on a lot of water last winter due to a breach in the hull, but it was patched and drained luckily. wonderful video and raises awareness for this old girl. anyone heading to buffalo should take an afternoon and check her out with the other ships.
I also love in Buffalo. She's a beauty.
Croaker is a Gato-class sub, pretty much the standard American diesel sub
William Rost . I've visited her many times in the past. Sometimes I was returning from a USN reunion and was an additional thrill. Served with a sailor as i recall who was transferred From CLG 4 to CG 10. live just East of the Toronto city line. If your from the golden horseshoe area on either side of the border this is a great place to visit and a treat in my opinion. Visited many USN museum ships down the east coast and over into Alabama and Loisiana. These ships require a lot of volunteer effort to maintain, without them maybe they wouldn't survive due to the $$$$$$$ cost to keep them floating or in good repair.
it is the USS The Sullivans and the USS Croaker is a Gato Class
My Grandad was stationed in the Philly ship yards during the war and help build the Little Rock. My Dad served on the Rock in the mid 60's. I was able to stop by and visit the ship about 5 yrs ago. Thats 3 generations thats been on that ship. Dad always bragging that his ship was the only one not turned into razor blades.LOL
So glad this and The Sullivans are within driving distance for me
Note the two bridges - one a top the other - the lower is a flag bridge for an admirals staff. Little Rock served as 6th Fleet flag in the mid 70s home-ported in Gaeta Italy.
I had a friend who served on "the Rock" back in the seventies. After a night of drinking, he and several shipmates smuggled a bottle of wine on board and hid it behind the insulation in the fire room. They all got transferred off the ship before they could drink it and he wondered if the bottle was still there. He wanted to go to the ship to see but cancer got him before he could do that.
Shame all the features of this ship are not reflected in this game at all. The only thing it does somewhat well is kill aircraft. WG totally failed to bring this ship to life in the game nerfing it all to hell. The six inch guns do not hit any harder and 5 inch guns and the secondary five inch gun turrets have no range and are hardly a factor in the game. I have to say they are totally ineffective while on other ships in the game they are rapid fire and deadly to 13.5 km.
Bofors (Beau-forrs)
Bougainville (Bo-gan-ville)
I was a Damage Controlman in the US Coast Guard and did a lot of training with the Navy we take Damage Control seriously!
T he coast guard doesnt need damage control. If the ship sinks, you only have to walk 6 feet to get gack to shore
Had the opportunity (during Med deployments) to walk aboard both the Little Rock and Springfield during their duties as Sixth Fleet flagships. Impressive ships!
Damn, did none of the Japanese work it out? Just wait for a broadside and aim just above the waterline, easy dev strike!
You know you have played too much Azur Lane when you get this video recommended
Already loved this class before I know about Azur Lane, but boy I also love Cleve and gang from Azur Lane. They're my favourite sisters in the game.
@@cipher0324 agreed. I know a bit about naval warfar before i jump on the Azur Land bandwagon and i must say, admire Montpelier a lot among the USS ships. It's a marvelous technology, yes
This might look and be shameless advertising, but I recommend book named "Japanese Destroyer Captain" for all those that have deep interest in naval history and stories.
Unsinkable? Have you played World of Warships?
George Hill I think you know there talking about reality all 26 or 28 of them survived ww2
In Alpha/Beta they were strong as hell. Not unsinkable, but right pains in the stern. Almost impossible to citadel, and rained fire on you endlessly. They were also by far the best AA ship of tier 6, and a good deal better than many of tier 7 (and CVs were OP as fk in the early days, so that meant something).
U.S. industry: "what do you need?"
U.S. military: "guns... lots of guns."
US industry: You got it chief!
_Later..._
US military: God damit theres to many guns for the rockets to fit on this ship!
US industry: Well you asked for it!
The Japanese and US cruisers were very impressive. I like how they say a cruiser taking a torpedo hit is probably going to sink in 15 minutes. Those are Russian standards on naval ships, not other navies.
Just love this series! Keep the good work WG! And thank you!
We (I) always have had great respect for Russian ships. It's nice to see our respect reciprocated.
Great job! You are intellectually honest. Thank you.
can you please make a video about the MONTANA. I know she never was build but she is very cool. please an 3F animation
"On paper the difference between 5 and 6 inches in caliber doesn't seem like much, but the difference in the shell weight is the double."
Five inch shells were usually around 25kg (55lb) and Six inch shells were around 45kg (100lb). Frightening how big of a difference just a single inch can make.
Do Bismarck next,,
no Prinz Eugen or even better Scharnhorst
+Kaseko or Graf Spee
+Nathan Peterson yeah Graf speed is the best !!!
Guy guys, how about the Enterprise
+Commander_Dixon yeah im agree with you
Clevebro ANIKI. XD
Only 6 inch gun left in the world? what? has he heard of HMS Belfast?
I believe they were referring to the specific American 6 inch guns that are on the Clevelands. While the Belfast has 6 inch guns as well they are very different even though they are still roughly 6 in (Cleveland's 6"/47 caliber Mark 16's were 150mm wide and weighed 130lb, whilst the Belfast's BL 6 inch gun Mark XXIII's were 152mm's wide and 112lb) Not to mention the loading process and fire control were different. Merely taking the width of the round when concerning them is a fallacy. One only needs to observe the difference between .50 BMG and .50 AE to see that clearly. Although they certainly could have worded it better and I am giving them the benefit of the doubt on this that they meant that specific American 6 in. gun.
Americans: takes part of island
Japanese: visible confusion
Naval battles in the Pacific against the Japanese Imperial Fleet were bloody and deadly. Cruisers, destroyers, destroyer escorts were the class of ships that were right in the middle of the fight. They faced fire from every direction including from above.
Their crews fought bravely and valiently.
As a proud U.S. NAVY veteran I salute them. I hope I'd have been as brave as they were. ✌🏻🇺🇸
Why use imperial measurements in the video when the game uses metric?
This is for the folks on the NA server, the metric versions of those videos are on WG's EU Channel.
Thanks!
I'm sure this ship's tour guide would be like "What is this "kilometer" you speak of?"
I know what you mean. I only know naval guns from this game and they're all in mm in-game, moreover I was in the Army and everything is mm there too. I have no idea how many inches a Bradley gun is but I know it's 25mm for example. So it's like wtf is 6 inches?
Not too hard to memorize a few numbers... I know Imperial measurements only, but I've just learned what the metric ones are... 100mm=4in, 127mm = 5in, 152mm=6in, 180mm=7in, 203mm=8in, 356mm=14in, 410mm=16in
There's only one real issue i had with this, which is the claim that Little Rock has the last 6-inch guns in the world. That's not entirely accurate as there are 3 other 6-inch packing cruisers preserved today;
-Mikhail Kutuzov
-HMS Belfast
-BAP Almirante Grau (formerly HNLMS De Ruyter)
The next one should be Taffy 3
You should make a video about the USS Cassin Young
Just read a few months ago James Fahey's PACIFIC WAR DIARY, about his three years on the USS Montpelier, a Cleveland class cruiser. One of the best books I've ever read for giving you an idea of what it was like in the US Navy in WW II. They were crucial in use as bombardment ships. Fahey says that the USS Cleveland delivered more ordnance than any other ship in WW II while the USS Montpelier, the ship on which Fahey served, was third. He served in a 40mm quad Bofor for the first half of the war, and a dual Bofor in the second half. Fahey became acquainted with Samuel Eliot Morrison, the author of the 15 volume official history of the US Navy in WW II, when Morison sailed with them for a few months. Just a great book.
There is a great photo of the Houston easily found on the Internet being towed to Pearl Harbor. The only reason she survived was because the Pacific was completely calm. You can see the deck of the Houston only a few feet from being awash. Unbelievable that it survived.
Just a great class of ships. I think the three most crucial types of ships were the Clevelands, the Fletcher class of destroyers, and the Essex class of carriers.
Called Light Cruiser because tonnage...seriously?
Cailus Griffin
I think it's up to 155mm (~6.1in) that's Light, heavier is Heavy, since the Hawkins-class (which is used as basis to consider what Cruiser is light or heavy) use 7.5in guns...
onyhow
IKR?
Was wondering about that too. You're right about the 6.1" guns being "light cruisers", with anything bigger being designated as a "heavy cruiser".
There was a tonnage limit under the Washington Treaty, but that was abbrogated by most of the signatory nations decision to build larger and larger ships.
I mean theoretically heavy cruiser could be lighter than light cruisers but due to a bigger gun most of time more armor this wasn’t the case.
So not really about the Little Rock and more about the Cleavland class as a whole.
Honestly I thought this was about USS Cleveland specifically but it talked about the class.
Ive visited that ship, It is docked and takes visitors in Buffalo, Ny, along with the USS Sullivan
Kerikow The Sullivan's*
9:10 night battles and flares confirmed???? 13:40 would look awesome in game ;)
Cleveland Class Cruisers in Bougainville
USS Montpelier, Cleveland, Columbia, and Denver
Destroyer that collided with Myoukou
Hatsukaze
My uncle served on the USS Vincennes (CL-64), he severed on her from before commission, shake down, and to the Pacific. He went overboard during one of its first surface battles. He was picked up by the USS Mugford (DD-389) after several hours in the water. He remained on the Mugford until his death on Dec 6, 1944, from a Kamikaze attack the hit the ship next to his battle station. He was 17-1/2 yrs. old at the time and yes, he lied about his age.
Ahhh...simpler times, when Cruisers were Cruisers, and Battleships were Battleships. Now the Missile rules all. No Battleships, and Cruisers are barely any different than Destroyers.
Boasted good survivability? Nothing survives in game.
and Damage Control parties? To bad DCPs are not truly well represented in game either.
The heaviest USN light cruisers were the Worcester class. They were at 18000ton deep load displacement and were essentially huge AA cruisers (12 dual purpose 6"/47cal guns). There were only two completed and they weren't regarded as particularly successful (guns were problematic), but they were the biggest by a large margin.
I love my Minekaze for getting in and slapping BB's and CV's But when i want a ship to fhave fun with it's the Cleveland Only thing i hate is Having 66% AA and 1 out of 10 battles do i get enemy CV's to use my AA on ..even more rare is having a 2 Cv's VS 2 CV game Yet i jump into any other ship class and there's a CV ...Makes me glad i didn't buy a Atlanta to find this out
Side note I'm only 50 mins from Buffalo have to see her in dock one day
say hello. and thank you for me please.
rudyossanchez
Will do
The Atlanta Is also a good Gunboat if you play her right can get 3-400 main battery shell hits in a match and rack up tons of damage
Kirt Gartner
For the money I'll stick with the cleveland
+rudyossanchez i drive by her every week and say good morning
My dad was aboard the USS Houston CL-81 when it was torpedoed in Oct. 1944. He celebrated his 21st birthday on the damaged ship, wondering if he would live to be 22. He was part of the 125 or so that stayed with the ship until it reached the west coast. Orders had been given to abandon ship but he and his buddy Douglas Denny had gone in the water when the Helena CL-50 was sunk in July 1943. They decided that as long as they had something to stand on, they would stay on board. Dad stayed with the ship until it reached the west coast.
He took survivors leave then.
whoever that one person was who disliked this shame on you
Japanese carrison at Rabaul dislaked this, carrison at Bougan liked, because they had fun
Probably Myoko.
So proud to have served on the Rock in 71-72. Served with our current Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. For those who do not know the most decorated enlisted sailor in US History James E Williams served on the Rock!
Hello Brother, I'm also proud to have served on the Little Rock's Sister ship - the USS Springfield CLG-7, 68, 69 & 70.
We rotated the "Flag" with you guys from 2nd Fleet to 6th Fleet. Great ships, good times!
I love the Cleveland Class because of their Short to Long Range Anti Air Capabilities.
i went on this ship the week after this video came out.
Now you guys just need to do the Croaker and you'll have done everything at the naval park lol
WoWs submarines confirmed lol
Cleveland(Azur Lane) is my waifu, but at least she wasn't sunk
When Houston was dragged back to port she’s completely filled. (With water)

1:35 pirates of the Carrabin
Are you sure?
@@boxsoldier9558 yup, they just play the song at a slower pace. Just watch this and then immediately after play the Pirates of the Caribbean theme afterwards and you'll hear it

oh yeahh indeed it would be great, also adding her at WoW
:D καλησπερααααα
Καλησπέρα!
I'm asking them to... Would like to have an excuse to visit my family in Athens!
Can you do one on Kirov class cruisers(the ones in game, not the cold war beasts) and Enterprise
Please make a Atago Naval Legends
Tbf battleships did stay around for a bit and join aircraft carriers as protection during ww2.
Wow, a ship that has the title of Unsinkable that Actuially hasn’t sunk.
Anyone else remember the Cleveland before her first nerf? When you would be able to rotate the turrets at like 90mph and fire your shells like a DD. Good times. Good times
I was fortunate enough to travel to the U.S. and tour this ship in Buffalo, NY. The ship was impressive for a light cruiser. The ship has been modernized quite a bit over the years, and thankfully the long service life meant there were plenty of crew that served on the ship who now work on the ship as guides. Well worth the trip to see this beauty. Planning on going again.
She doesn’t have the only 6 inch guns left in the world. The Belfast still has her 12 6 inch guns in tact...
Ok! Great story! And I can honestly say I have been on that ship! In fact I've spent 2 nights on it! The ship is a living museum! And she's big! Especially if you don't know your way around!!! I enjoyed my time on her! And the rest of the ships and submarine that is stationed there!!!
These things horrified Japanese air squadrons, because of the huge amount of AA guns, and every 6 inch and 5 inch gun could effectively put up Flak
Im glad they saved one of these ships in the cleveland class. My father served aboard USS Oklahoma "Okie Boat" CG-5 Cleveland class. I cant wait to unlock the cleveland class on WOW. I will be visiting the USS Little Rock Soon.
But doesn’t Belfast also have 6 inch guns still on the ship so there not the last 6 inch left or am I missing something
The USS Little Rock is not the only 6'' gun ship left in the world. HMS Belfast is also a 6'' cruiser. She is moored in the Thames as a museum ship.
As well as Mikhail Kutuzov and the still active Almirante Grau
Probably not, but maybe they meant the only 6in guns the US has in the world. The US uses 5in guns primarily now
_Gets torpedoed twice_
USS Houston: _I DIDN'T HEAR NO BELL_
Lots of errors in this video, starting with the cruisers original purpose. They were fast scouts for the fleet in the days before aircraft. Their role changed during WWII. In the Atlantic and Mediterranean their key role was convoy escorts, anti-submarine duty and close fire support during the various amphibious operations. Also they had a significant anti-aircraft role in the Mediterranean. In the Pacific it changed as the fast battleships (Iowas) and fleet carriers could out pace almost anything afloat. Their role as strong antiaircraft platforms became increasingly important particularly as Japan reverted to using Kamikazes.
The Clevelands already proved themselves too dangerous to those Japanese planes. Is image what the 3 Des Moines class cruisers would’ve done to 3-10x more planes
Doesn’t the Belfast have six inch guns and is currently a museum in London? So that’s kinda false when he said he the Little Rock has the only six inch guns in the world
Those 3inch kind of like the German 1.5 inch gun
America and there ships are so bad ass
Can you please add USS Midway to this series in the next episode? I know that she is in San Diego California as a museum ship many miles north of Baja California.
Excellent, fantastic video!!!! My Dad and I once visited this glorious ship the _USS Little Rock_. A terrific naval museum with the only cruiser of her class that's extant (she's wonderfully preserved)-good job, Buffalo!!!!
