Calm Winter Nature Walk | Peaceful Piano Music | No Talking | Meditation

Happy winter solstice! Join us for a slow, peaceful, mindful and atmospheric nature walk through an English winter. This video was filmed every five days over three months from the winter solstice and shortest day of the year in December to the spring equinox and cherry blossom season in March. Watch as the ground freezes and heathland turns icy, the wild ponies sunbathe in pools of winter light, and tiny signs of spring emerge as the days start to lengthen and we move towards spring.
This is the second seasonal compilation from my microseasons project, which ran from May 2022 to May 2023. Inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of dividing the year into 72 microseasons, each focused on something that's happening in the natural world, I documented the seasons as they came and went around me in Birmingham. Birmingham is a post-industrial city in the English Midlands, so my microseasons feature urban scenes like our iconic canals and brickwork factories, but also the parks and green spaces on the edge of the city, including Sutton Park in the north and the Lickey Hills to the south.
