I was lucky enough to see them 4 times on this tour and I saw the Leeds gig which was just before Jim had to fly home for family reasons. That was their last ever gig all together in the UK as sadly Kevin passed away a few months later. What a band.
i picked up the sophtware slump for cheap in a bargain bin in the UK stuck it in ye olde car stereo cd socket and thought 'wtf is this, kinda radiohead meets surfpunk on acid shiz' but you know what, when i'm down this is still one of my default pick-me-up go-to albums...love these freaks
Drove around the country in my big rig with hundreds of CD's years ago. Grandaddy is what I listened to ....when I stopped ,kicked the door open, grabbed a beer and put my feet up.Edit:Dam this is good..got my feet up at home now.
Levitz is one of my favorite songs of all time and Grandaddy is probably the MOST underrated band of the last 20 years. So many feels watching this video
Man when I listened to his music I thought it was someone in his 20's singing... Rest in Peace Kevin... You passed away but your music will live forever.
His backing vocals and perfectly placed bass lines will stay with me forever! The whole band are criminally underrated but they would be granddady if they were mainstream👍
Yeah, because the average person over here has their head up their a**, filling their ears with disgusting shit manufactured by the giant media corporations that obscure great, creative talent like this. We wouldn’t have this band had they appeared 10-15 years later. I wish people would demand better today. Sadly, they (younger people) don’t even see or hear the difference. Generally speaking.
I’ve just ‘discovered ‘ them and can’t believe what I’d been missing. Having watched 28 days later loads of times and often wondered who did the supermarket tune.
Welcome to the world of grandaddy!! I've been listening for decades and still find stuff of theirs that blows my mind! BY FAR THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD❤❤❤
yeh ur right lets blame the guy who's second language is English for not using proper English grammar (sarcasm alert, because you clearly struggle on the internet)
i got to see them twice in Dublin...during the 90's... once in the Temple Bar Music Centre and their merchandisers were handing out fanzines and then in the Village in the noughties .....i think it was the Village and I think it was granddaddy....cant really remember....but it was the gig I won free tickets for from TODAY FM cause I texted the right answer and included the words "pick me with extra peas and cheese please. That worked. Great band - Grandaddy.
This band makes me cry over the loss of melody, cord changes, groove, poetic lyrics, and creativity which are nearly extinct in music today where they don’t seem to know what these things are. Thank you media corporations (sarcasm). To me, the band is a mix of Nirvana (without depression) and The Beach Boys. Their sound and lyrics lower my blood pressure. Wonderful.
Nirvana and The Beach Boys is a solid description! When I first heard “Under the Western Freeway” in the late 90s, I remember describing them as a mix of The Pixies and The Beach Boys. Looking back, I see other influences like Enya and ELO, as well. Such an incredible band.
I have to subscribe to you as a thank you for showing this fantastic concert from one of my favourite bands, Best live footage of them I’ve seen. Aren’t you all glad you paid your BBC licenses now cos without the BBC this wouldn’t have been recorded. 🙏
i was fortunate enough to see them live in Israel 3 and a half years ago. who knew just a couple of years later Kevin is gone and then 2020 and I can't leave the house :( "i gotta get ouf of here"
Exactly the same here, what memories, every morning I would get the Channel 4 text gig guide up. An excellent service in as much that I’d know who was playing Stoke Sugarmill before the record shop who would be selling the tickets!!
@ Steve Hurst, I’m afraid to say that Grandaddy played Stoke Sugarmill in November 2003.... it may not come as any consolation to you but they were absolutely on top form. I’m just glad that we were there to witness the genius of Jason Lytle!! We then managed to catch them on their 2004 tour at The Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton with support from a then little known band called Snow Patrol!!!! As usual, Grandaddy were in cracking form once again!!
Can you at least try to describe it? I’m not even being sarcastic: totally understand what you mean. Was just hoping to hear a little bit more of your Grandaddy story. Glad you’re alive! 🙏🏼💪🏽
Got to see these guys after years of waiting in Manchester UK. Sadly we all know what happened shortly afterwards. If you're reading this guys thank you and I hope you are all happy. (With occasional bursts of melancholy just to write music ;))
Not even joking, this is possibly the only video I’ve ever seen that had a complete zero dislike to like ratio You know Grandday are doing things right when that’s the case

There’s more talent in Jason’s Lytle finger than in most singer songwriters today!!!!

Grandaddy just have so many great songs as this set shows off perfectly. What a tremendous band.
That drummer kills it man! He holds the groove down so perfectly
INDEED! And.......no auto tune thank God. Humans making music like nothing else can.
I had the same thought……
Criminally underrated band. Melodic, clever, quirky, brilliant.
A one band genre with no name.

Grandaddy fucking rule!! My favourite band of all time hands down, RIP Kevin ❤
Grandaddy has a lot of what A LOT of modern bands lack: intensity, humility, truth, talent and depth. What an AMAZING BAND.
AMEN!!!
I Love This Band! Rip. Kevin 🙏

Grandaddy are too special for the masses, they simply do not deserve their brilliance! But the band deserve every accolade.
Best band in the WORLD
Utter genius. RIP Kev
The best band of the last 30 years
Without a doubt.
Hold on hold on, GD is great but that is just too bold.
So amazing to see they played Levitz live after all those years, definitely my favorite grandaddy song

Perfect travelling music - I love listening through all the albums on roadtrips.

Check out Solar Powered People. Another even more tiny Modesto Band from the same era that... TOTALLY FUCKING RULES!!!!

That’s the sign of exceptional music that keeps on giving.
First time I heard them Mark and Lard had AM180 as their record of the word , have loved them from that day on .🎉
Jason Lytle is underappreciated.
It's funny. I started listening to them about 2 years ago. I watched this last night. (5/20) I see they are about as old as I am! Love the sound!
Thanks for sharing.
This band will always have place in my ❤
Why do i always discover these great bands way too late? This is brilliant!

Privileged to see them in Scotland T in the fringe, 6pm but absolutely 💯
Life-affirming glory!

I saw them at Anson Rooms Bristol Uni in Feb 2001 in the days when I purchased my tickets by looking on the gig guide on Channel 4 teletext.

When Jason sang the sentence "nothing last for ever" in Everymore sounds so sad.

As well as the soundboard mix.

Ahhhh yesssss! I watched this on iPlayer ages ago and then it went away - so glad someone finally put it on RUclips.
Thanx so much for both: playing and getting uploaded! Great set! Thanx so much again
Great -thanks ✌🏼
Whomever shot this, capturing the Mighty Mo-town indie studs, well done! Modesto modest legends shared.
Sublime. But I miss the Taurus bass pedals on He's Simple.

that He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot version was incredible 😢
Why is everyone so politely sitting? Is this the first time they hear Grandaddy? I absolutely love this music, come on people let's dance 😂 😂😂😂
Hey Mark, this was actually at a festival, so not everyone there was just there for Grandaddy, but yeah, still should be way more dancing!
