Wrinkle resistant clothing is mostly polyester and when traveling to Europe in the summer, I refuse to wear polyester. It’s linen, cotton or silk or tencel. Yes, it wrinkled but I would rather be comfortable and stylish than wear polyester
Great ideas thank you! I am finally learning to pack light with inspiration from videos like this. Since I don't have the same luggage I always take a medium sized plastic bag as a laundry bag. I also take a crossbody bag as a purse so that there is no need to unpack everything from the backpack or personal item bag. And I didn't see that you packed a lightweight jacket which can be necessary in Europe even in summer! Also, important I think to take a large scarf or wrap or light sweater on the plane since it can be chilly; better to use that then the blankets they give you. My light Pashmina serves me very well in summer or a warmer wool one in winter.
I love trains too...I struggled for long term travel ended up leaving winter clothes and laptop behind then losing all my photos on warped webstick and cloud didnt upload them! A lesson learned. I never ever want to check in bag again either and will have to find a way to make my bag more distinguishable..was lost 4 times almost ..surprised ever came back!!!any packing way is same for me as still takes up same room. Like packing cubes..I live in a denim skirt with many tshirts! But have to take all my things as usually have nowhere to leave my things! I always use toothpaste powder no liquids etc.. but still find my bag stuffed even though weighs 1.4 unpacked!
Hi Robin. I saw a tip for packing the 311 liquids bag.. If you place the items horizontally instead of vertically they take up less space. You didn't seem to need more space but some viewers may. We all have our preferences for a personal item bag. I travel with a baggallini tote that can be used as a purse and I feel my items are more secure, convenient, and more comfortable than having the weight on my back. It also has a trolley sleeve that slides on my roller bag and two side pockets for a water bottle and umbrella. I enjoy and always look forward to your videos.
Your video is very helpful! I like that you pack clothing similar to what I use while traveling. Since weight is an issue for Europe, I've started using toothpaste pills, deodorant wipes, and small shampoo/conditioner bars. I also take HotHands warming insoles (for my shoes) which, along with my lightweight cashmere scarf, keep me warmer on international flights.
Thanks for sharing. I usually roll my clothing since my skirts would not fit in a packing cube. Mom usually over stuffs bags to bring items to our relatives in the Philippines. Applied to work at a library full time.
Hi Robin. Thank you for these great tips. I will be looking for that backpack on Amazon. It is so convenient for all extra items needed when traveling.
I used alot of your ideas packing my bags. I find, though, that I have extra pouches for laundry items and extension cords and adapter, which take up more space than I intended. I may downsize these items before I shut the luggage. Whew! I can't wait to get on my flight to London tomorrow.😊
Hi Robin! I haven’t left a comment in a long time but I wanted to tell you that I’m a light packer too. I live in England but have family in Spain and travel to other parts of Europe and we always take a carry on and sometimes a backpack. I just wanted to mention that there’s an airport in England called Stansted where they only allow you to have your liquids in the plastic bags Greg provide. They’re very strict about it but they will give you the bags you need. I’ve had luggage misplaced too and I’ve seen a suitcase been left behind in the Issy so I’m always careful to take carry on only. I hope you enjoy your time away with your family 😊
Thank you ! It’s good to hear from you. I’ve heard about that airport and also find that the London airports have the most strict security procedures. 😅
Thank you for this very informative video, I have the Away the expandable ones. I love the pill case I will be order them and I may order that backpack it looks great and very useful.
Lots of good ideas. I like your backpack but I wouldn’t put my wallet and passport in that back pocket. It would be so easy for a pickpocket to slip that out of there. I wonder if you would give a different recommendation after your trip.
Robin , I ordered the pill cases and they are great. Plenty of room for my pills and supplements. No more taking all the pill bottles with us l plan to take photos of prescriptions just incase. Thank you for the tip.
The two dresses you packed are very pretty….I didn’t see a link for those and would like to know if they are still available and where to shop for them. Thank you so much. 🌻
Hi Angela! They are dresses that I have had for several years and are no longer available. They are both from Boden and they always have similar dresses. Thanks and God bless!💛
@@FaithandFlour Thank you, Robin. I will check out the current line of Boden dresses! Dresses are so easy and comfortable. God bless you as well, we need God’s blessings on us more than ever these days!

Prayers for safe and hassle free travel Robin! I'm looking for a link for that great backpack - is it in your amazon store? I hope air travel improves soon. Hi Robin! I have already told you that, but I love so much that you are so organized! And you have such good ideas and useful tips for packing! I am usually a very organized person myself, but for some mysterious reason (the “just in case…” reason, I guess!)😕, when it comes to packing for a trip, I’m a nervous wreck and can’t figure out what to bring if I can’t bring my whole wardrobe!😩 So thank you for your wonderful tips! I wish you and your family an amazing trip! Safe travel! God bless you! 💗☺🌹
Thank you Monique! It took me a long time to get past the “just in case” mindset too! 😄 I realize now that less is definitely better and most things can be purchased at your destination in case of an emergency. Have a blessed week! 💛
@@FaithandFlour Thank you for your answer! Yes, indeed, if need be, I can purchase what's missing at my destination! I never thought of it that way.💛 I usually pack as if I was going to a remote, isolated destination and need to bring everything with me! hi robin! i wondered if you could tell me how long the backpack straps are when fully extended? thank you! // p.s. i forgot to mention that i have that pill case, too, and use it in my daily purse. it has been such a lifesaver during the workday on short, day-long business travel. 👍🏼
Question - I'm flying Swissair in September, and the online info gives limits for a personal item as 15.7 x 11.8 x 3.9 inches. That's bigger than a backpack. Have you flown this airline? Do they really keep to the 3.9" wide limit?
Hi Alison! It has been a while since I flew Swissair, but because they are partners with United, I don’t think there should be an issue. Just be sure what you choose fits easily under the seat in front of you. Happy Travels! ✈️
If you travel with only solid color clothing that is all in the same color profile(matching), you can pack a lot less, and have a much better wardrobe.
Hi Linda! I still have the ones I previously used. I use different ones depending on how I need to use it during my travels. They also make great weekend bags for short trips. ✈️💛
I watch all videos on packing light and always end up giggling and chortling. I guess as an older woman with many years of traveling and never checking a bag some things are too obvious to me. Others just don't work for me. (I have a spinal problem that completely rules out backpacks). As for clothes, l wear one pair of shoes and pack only one more (one of which is waterproof), all clothes are mix and match in a color scheme. I never, ever wear jeans. Too heavy to pack or wear, and l find them uncomfortable. My medications are scripts and so must be in their pharmacy bottles. I have several washable silk scarves, one of which is a huge rectangle and l use it as a wrap or cover and for on the grass to sit. My next trip is back to Italy and France for three months this coming spring. Oh, and l always rent apartments with washers. Cheaper than hotels and lovely to have a kitchen area and all the extra room and privacy 😊
@@FaithandFlour thank you 😊 I was just a bit confused as you mentioned that there were several different rules in Europe and then referred to rules in Australia and none from Europe 😊 Have a lovely day.
I believe the deodorant you packed is considered a "liquid" because it's a paste and has to be under 3oz and go in your liquids bag. If you haven't had to throw it away, you may in the future.
