Aw man you didn’t say peace. The scene just cut right before...
Willem Verbeeck love your work! And, maybe this madness is what you need to shoot. Stay safe brother

Hi Sara
This camera brings back memories. I used to have, may still have this camera and had different lenses for it. I loved this camera. I got interested in this camera as years ago I had a home computer called a Dragon 32. I got a basic electronic camera that plugged into the computer. It was very basic, black and white large pixels etc but it came with a Pentax lens. I ended up getting the Pentax camera. This is what got me into photography. I had the Pentax flash, and even had a motor that screws into bottom of camera that automatically winds film to next shot. Below are the lenses I had
Pentax-110 24mm F2.8 Standard lens of 6 elements in 5 groups,
Pentax-110 50mm F2.8 Telephoto lens of 5 elements in 5 groups
Pentax-110 70mm F2.8 Telephoto lens of 6 elements in 5 groups
Pentax-110 20mm-40 mm F2.8 Zoom lens of 8 separate elements
I’m now gonna look around home to see if I can find it. I loved it so much .
Thanks again for the fond memories I had of that camera.
The Pentax 110 has a great meter built into that small SLR. Changeable lenses and can capture great images.
So happy Sara is getting this Willem guy out there and giving him some exposure. Hopefully he starts a channel or something soon.
I've been waiting for this video for so long, literally my two favorite youtube channels
For those that don’t know 110 film is still available through lomography and the format is still thriving! I’ve shot that Pentax 110 before and the sharpness of those shots will surprise you!
I thought you were about to say, “I had to get them developed on the Dark Web” 😂😂😂👀
🤣🤣🤣
So funny hearing 110 being talked about like it’s something uncovered during an archeological dig 😂. Feeling the years...
When I was 12 my parents bought me a cute little purple see through 110 camera from the dollar store and I used to love that thing! To me that wasn't that long ago. :)
“Have you ever seen anything this small before?”
“I haven’t.”
Sheesh!!!
*Duke, ain’t playin*
This was so cool! I remember having a 110 film camera when I was a kid! Thankyou!
Really loved this video, pls keep uploading content, I really love what you do Sara 🙏🏾
loved this wholesome content queen
I really love seeing videos on 110, it's my favorite film format and I love shooting it. I hope videos like these inspire more people to give the format a try!
10:50 when he said he looks good exposed you blushed
Always great to watch your videos Sara. Nice collab, I learned so much about film from this video.
This is the cutest video. I’d love to see you guys do more content together!
This video was a joy to watch! Thank you!
Thankyou Sara & Willem for a great video. Sara you have a beautiful smile
I used to drop my 110 at the Fotomat in the Roses parking lot for processing back in the 70s. If you really want to trip on flash, look for flash cubes. This was fun to see the old cameras and film. Thanks for sharing!
Can flash cubes still be found?
Can we have more of this duo/trio pls? Love love LOVE
This is such a fun collab! I think I remember saying that Willem used to do video work for John when he first moved to NY. So cool
I dug my mom's film camera out of the drawer a couple months ago, it's pretty much the same as Willem is using with the same 110 mm film and it brings me back! 'Cause i've seen her take photos on that thing since i was tiny and flipping through all the photos she took over the years was one of the reasons photography became such a huge part of my life! Anyways this all to say that seeing you guys play with 110 film gives me chills for some reason xD
brings back memories i used to shoot 110 back in the 80s and 90s had a lot of pics from Walt Disney World
i love this content. willem is like my fav youtuber rn.
4:38 Paparazzi on grandma!! LOL - BIG fan of the channel!!
DJoe DJ 😂😂
I just found that camera that you have Sara at an estate sale with the original box manual and probably even the original batteries and I got it for a total of $10. I cannot wait to get some film for it now. I grew up, playing with cameras like this when I was a little kid and the nostalgia from these is just amazing.
ok, I enjoy your videos Sara, but I especially loved the vibe of this video. Very nostalgic for me. I remember when that Pentax was new. I just graduated high school. I'm old. I had already bought a Pentax ME and couldn't afford the Auto 110 too. Interchangeable lenses! Sara, you must go on a quest to find the lenses for that thing.
My first camera was a 110. An Agfamatic. With a large bright orange shutter button. It was a Rangefinder style box like the one Willem was using. And mounted a strip of single use flash strip on top or a cube flash. Loved it.
I love these Sara and Willem react to film roll videos!
That photo with the child and the flowers was my fav by far! It feels so full of story.
This video is amazing. The production quality is Great
"I look better when I am well exposed" - nice line Willem!
110 (16mm) was my first camera. When I was out of propper 16mm film, I was using uncut 8mm movie film with sprocket holes, and developed it skipping reverse part.
another great video! cool small camera
Nostalgia supreme..used to work with 110 instamatic myself..really enjoyed your descriptive analysis of the shots..you do have a creatively cute mind indeed, Peachy!
These are some dope photos
Cool video. Enjoyed the fun of it. Some precisions: the reason Willem's pictures got weird red spots all over is because he used a Lomography Tiger 200 film. The backing paper in those cardriges from Lomography seem to let some light in. Simple cure: put a piece of black gaffer tape over the little window at the back of the camera where the frame numers show up normally. Sara shot expired film which doesn't have this defect but her pictures turned out more grainy and washed out because it was expired film. Nothing wrong with the chemical processing.
Brilliant work and collab ;)
This was a fun video! I need to try shooting film more often.
Lets gooo Willem! Loved seeing this collab between you two.
Omg seeing both of y’all on one video blew my mind, Epic creator collab!!!
Love this Willem, been subbed to his channel for the longest, would be awesome to see you on his channel.
Ok, I am reminded how old I am. My parents had that exact Kodak camera that took many of my childhood pictures. Now I am binging youtube on all the amazing technology that's now available for pictures, sound, podcasting. Giving me great ideas for creating content for my classes.
Oh, this brings back memories. My first camera was a drug-store own-brand 110 fixed-focus point-and-shoot I had when I was like ten years old. Served me very well until I got my first digital camera in 2001 (Canon PowerShot 2 megapixel job). Really itching to get back into film photography/street photography. Subbed to this and Grainy Days in the last couple of weeks :) aahhhhh nostalgia
Fav two!
Cool little camera. I've shot 110 film many many years ago, this Pentax makes me want to do it again.
These are great guys. You too really bounce off one another!
I just watched Jon's engagement video. I have watched you for years. Love you guys. Congratulations and my best to you. Big smile.
I actually bought a Pentax auto 100 kit because of your video! I can't wait to take it out!
Great duo !
3:15 I used that film in the 80s! Wow memories!
It's so cool seeing people get into shooting film! I've been using 35mm film for a few years now, and it's really cool (though can be a pain when it goes wrong- definitely can't say that from experience :p ).
I've never tried 110 film, and I'm not even sure if there's any labs near me that develop it, but it'd be an interesting experience.
You had me at Willem. Looking forward to your collab on his channel ✌️
I like your video. You both looked like you had a great time. I use to take a lot of photographs when I lived there. Things were always changing all the time. Enjoy your day.
Oh my gosh i found one of these in my basement after a party and haven't figured out how to use it yet. Thank you for this
The 110 has aperture control. stopping down really helps in day light. Fun video, thanks for creating.
My first camera was a 110. Got it when I was a kid in the 80s. So that grainy small format film look, even when it's of pictures of modern Tribeca, looks like the past to me.
The camera Willem was using is not a range finder, it's a point and shoot. The Camera Sara was using is not like an SLR, it is an SLR. I purchased the Pentax Auto 110 Super in 1984 as a kit. It came with an auto winder, a flash and 3 lenses, 18mm, 24mm and 50mm, all f/2.8. The Auto 110 Super was a vast improvement over the Auto 110. The Super was a single stroke film advanced and it has an exposure compensation button on the front that helps with backlit subjects. I still have my Auto 110 Super kit and lots of memories of shooting with it. There was also a zoom lens and a 70mm lens that Pentax made.
Wonderful video, love seeing younger photographers rediscover cameras and film that I grew up with.
Love the photo interpretations 😂
Sara i love your videos
Love the video!! Can I just ask what the film is?
Saw Dan in there. Crazy where life takes people! I remember Dan from the Underoath/touring days and now he's into the boxing world and now shows up on one of my fav RUclipsrs videos multiple times. I am digging his journey for real! Also, love this video. I recently purchased a Nikon F4 and have been loving it!
Willem: Whats my band called?
John: "My Emotions Hurt"
LOL
It's crazy to see and feel the nostalgia brought by seeing the pics from those 110's. I bet people would pay some money to have the 'vintage feel' captured with modern themes
We used 110 film cameras in the late 1970s to the early 1980s. My aunt had a Pentax like yours. She had two (2) zoom lenses for that camera too. My first camera was a Hello Kitty 110 film camera made by Fujifilm. After that we switched to Kodak Disc film system. Try that out next time. 😁
You have your own cameraman! The 110 format and cameras are what I started out on as a young kid back in the way 80s. You just pop the film in and remember to wind it on. Also make sure your finger is out of shot. I just bought a basic 110 camera at the market and have ordered new film. Can't wait to get back into it
Grat video. When i first shot film i also snapped the film by winding it. I forgot to press the button on the bottom of the camera lol. Haven't done it since :-)
I love 110 💛
I grabbed a pentax Q off ebay a few months ago and it is a blast! Digital, not film but about the same size and the lenses are itty bitty
thanks for this. my camera sales will skyrocket
Yea those old consumer cameras had only one exposure BUT color neg has a lot of latitude and over exposure could be printed down quite a bit at the lab. Under exposure is the danger zone however. I’m glad to see film make a comeback. I was raised on film in the 80’s and after my RIT college days spent the 90’s shooting 4x5 & medium format for all of my commercial work. I miss the discipline that film forced upon you. Also in the 90’s I did a lot of research photography for Eastman Kodak and when I used to shoot music videos it was on 16mm color and b&w neg so the absence of film in my day to day work flow leaves a big hole in my heart. I gotta get back into it and all you young kids too!! Kodak is down the street from my. You guys should come to Rochester for a Kodak tour it would make for a good episode. I’ll help connecting the dots and drive you around once the dust settles on this thing. lmk
Pentax is back. ;D Interesting video, nice job!
it's a very nice experience
Yeah the Pentax 110 !!!
Well known by the Pentaxians! But is nice to see people starts to approach back to Pentax which is (and still does gear) a great brand kicking asses of more popular brands in many photographic ways and styles ! Sara go get some Pentax gear and you'll see what I speak about :) In body stabilization now on Canon? Oh man! Well Pentax did that decades ago! Brand that made the first AF DSLR machine, sealed bodies rock solid DSLR machines, colours are way better than Canon or Nikon, same mount for the last 40-50 years (Pentax K) which make old amazing glass usable on today's DSLR cameras.... and so much more!
110 is super fun to use and the cameras are all pocketable
Dang, This edit was C L E A N. Transitions was fire
love to see my man getting exposure
My first few cameras when I was younger were all 110!
Sara! Your video color correction is awesome! Is there a link to your cameraman?
6:13 Where did that come from!?
I love shooting 110, i have a vitoret El and it's a really cool 110 camera but it's had some issues... I have a Kodak 110 that works fine though!
OK, I'm old (child of the 1960s-70s), and I had a lot of experience shooting on 110 film. 110 wasn't the first point-and-shoot format, but it was arguably the first mainstream shirt-pocket camera format. Cameras like Sara's Pentax 110 SLR were curiosities. Most 110 cameras were long, slim rangefinder affairs, like the one Willem used in this video. Most had built-in strobe flashes. As I recall, the 110 rangefinders were among the first mass-market cameras that did. Most of the boxy, 126 film point-and-shoots that preceded them used flashcubes and variants thereof (X-type Magicubes, flashbars, etc.). The main limitation of 110 film is that it's a very small format, about half the area of a 35mm frame, so there were limits on how much you could enlarge the pictures, and the slightest amount of camera shake would make a photo unrescuably blurry. But until manufacturers figured out how to miniaturize 35mm point-and-shoots, 110 cameras were the only good choice for someone who wanted a camera that would fit in a shirt or suit jacket pocket. FYI, prior to 110 film, several major manufacturers experimented with ultra-small film cameras. My dad had a tiny Minolta camera that used proprietary film that was similar to the 110 format. He once tried to repack one of its proprietary cartridges with film taken from a 110 cartridge. It didn't work, because the Minolta film and the 110 film both used frames that were preprinted somehow on the film, and the Minolta's photos didn't line up.
I didn't even know that a SLR 110 film camera existed! Thank you
I have an old Kodak Instamatic 25 camera from the early 1970's it was my first camera. It uses/used 126 film which is the same width as 35mm film. But like 110 film it's not so easy to obtain and get processed now.
Luv ya sara
Oh my God Sarah I did the same thing my first time I shot film!!
YAAAAS Willem!!!
Love the editing on this and man this makes me nostalgic for film cameras. Though where I am now, there is actually no such thing as a development studio anymore, so I'd have to find some film nerd's home dark room or ship the film overseas somewhere. Guess photoshop grain filters it is for me.
If you do get into film, use The Darkroom. They profess film from all over the world. Great quality, quick turnaround and decent prices.
the point with 110 film was to hit the cheap consumer market, but by the time this format was developed, 35mm film was relatively affordable. Another thing to note is the low resolution of the film, hence the low adoption rate. But this formate was wildly popular with the journalist market due to the fact that cameras can be incredibly discrete.
That happened to me too sara😩😩😩
8:30 haha john in the background 😂
Ayyeee Willem! Lots of love
loved the vid! i was not prepared to see john lmao. i was like "woah wtf is skateboard man doing here"
The Pentax 110 does have automatic exposure. The Instamatic style camera has one, fixed exposure and fixed (no) focus. The Pentax 110 has the weirdest mechanics ever. The shutter and aperture are the same mechanism in the body. The lenses don't have any iris and all the lenses for the Pentax have to be 2.8 to support this weirdness.
Thanks, came to the comments to say exactly this!
@@dylangergutierrez Same here. It really hurt to hear someone spouting misinformation when a small bit of Googling would have given them all the info they needed.
Yep iris is in body instead of in lens. Neat little booger. Love mine!
The 110 cartridge is notched depending on the film speed (just like Super 8 film and cameras) and many 110 cameras have presets for aperture and shutter speed depending on the cartridge's notch!
Big ups to John for rockin’ the Afro! Yeah! Oh, great captures too!
