This coach loves, lives boxing, his is training young people in his gym, his is training Roy Jones Jr for Mike and he haves time for training us in youtube, thanks for everything sir
Coach. I thought I knew most ways to throw or use the jab, but this one is a new one on me and once again you have shown us how, why and when to use it and also the thought process behind it. Hands down you have the best channel on RUclips... It's not even close. You're the best tutor I've ever seen. Thank you for taking your time out to teach us. By the way, Danny is the best student and he will throw us a bone too from time to time... The perfect team...
brilliantly taught and execution in the instruction..also a fabulous street technique when you double up with the second shot.. pre-emptive from a defensive point of view ..
It’s my favorite thing is throwing punches and strikes at different angles and variations trying to be as creative as possible and make it work in a real situation👍👌
Thanks for all the support!👊🏼 I really appreciate it! Please consider sharing the videos. Also for other boxing related information and tips follow me on Instagram @tomyankelloboxing
I was once shown the coffee mug jab and the under-jab one after the other. The guy who taught me those jabs referred to the coffee mug jab as the "Russian uppercut" and to the under-jab as the "Mexican uppercut."
Christopher T - Excellent comment. While watching this video, I got the impression that both of these punches are related to an uppercut. Thanks for posting.
Cam - A very good question, actually. Coach Yankello would be the best person to ask, but I’ll put in my two cents. If you opponent’s chin is well tucked, shoot for the eyes/nose area. If that chin comes up a bit, it becomes the target. In short, hit for what is available. Fist position, from what I can see, would be primarily vertical.
Coach, been a fan of yours for awhile now. As always thank you for your knowledge that you share with all of us. Thanks coach for teaching variations of the Jab, its my favorite punch! Bruce Lee even made it a point to have full contact with all of your knuckles in this “Coffee Mug” form. Where most fighters hit targets with 2-points of their knuckles (index knuckle and middle knuckle) Bruce Lee hit with all 4 knuckles for maximum strength behind the quickest punch to throw. Coach keep coming with more content to expand the way we think of boxing!
I must Say!! Awsome videos and great lessons. Excuse me, I would love if You can explain how I can teach My fighters hoy to get out of the corner. They jusy froze once they get pushed in the corner You know. Thanks a Lot

This is is a great video, like all of the videos on this channel, but admittedly it was hard to focus when I kept worrying this guy was going to hit the coach lol. He got really close a few times and if coach Tom happened to look away maybe at the camera there’s a chance he could have gotten clipped lol so it was hard to focus on the video the first time around. Second time around it was ok though 😄👍
Love these secret sauce videos !! Coach @tomyankelloboxing 🙏 thank you for showing both stances,,, the Up jab , the under jab...+8ways to Jab ,,Yes!!! #jabdetails #showusmore --> FH

I just checked my notes. It's called the Cuban uppercut, not the Mexican uppercut.
Dumb question, but are you aiming under their chin and is horizontal fist preferable?

Mike tyson also use this type of jab occasionally, if i got it right
❤ This. I know the under jab as the spear jab. Coffee mug jab is new. I never hear of that one. It is almost like a slight hook.
