  • Not much exciting for snow this year, really haven't been able to put the sled to the test yet. Still, liking it overall compared to the old XU Xtreme.

    The consistent blipping of the throttle is hard on the ears. Cool sled though!

      Don't have much choice when trying to move slower than engagement speed, and the 850 and is very touchy off idle.

    The Lynx Ranger 69 with 600 mm wide track is also very ekstreme, with BRP 900 ACE with turbo

    Finally! Watched practically all of you videos of the older XU xtreme because I couldn’t find any videos about the new one! I’m debating xtreme vs LE. Or rather 2 stroke vs 4 stroke since chassis-wise they’re practically the same sled. Any wisdom to offer since you’ve got some hands on experience with the xtreme?

    • @SkeldZ06
      @SkeldZ06  4 года назад +1

      I haven't been around the four stroke version much, but I'm not a huge fan of the throttle response on the 900 NA at least. Less weight in the front is good. Main reason to go four stroke to me is if you're a super high mileage guy and you are going to blow up the two stroke in a few seasons. For me I ride 5 to 6k miles in 4 seasons and trade without motor trouble.

    • @Mootmeese
      @Mootmeese 4 года назад +1

      Skeld Yeah, reliability is definitely what’s making this a difficult decision. Although I have heard of some 850’s that have 16k miles on them and counting. Thanks for the input!

    I'm trying to look your sled over and see what you've added in order to install the Chain Saw Holder? Also, I'm not seeing any mirrors, but if I'm missing them, which are you running?

    • @SkeldZ06
      @SkeldZ06  4 года назад +1

      No mirrors. The chainsaw holder needs the rear rack to mount to, and the Xtreme doesn't come with it stock. I had the dealer add it, and the Linq chainsaw holder. www.ski-doo.com/shop/Accessories/storage_racks/racks/chain-saw-holder-rev-gen4-wide-20-equipped-with-tunnel-fixed-rai.html

      @@SkeldZ06 Hi again! I'm finally making the order and have one last few questions for you, and by the looks of your rig, you very likely have the answers!
      Does the cargo rack you have (for the chain saw holder) ALSO come with a trailer hitch?
      You have the HD Tongue Hitch, where I want to install the J-Hitch: is that installed on the original bumper or did you need to change to the HD Rear Bumper? If so, it's good to know the Cargo Rack and Bumper fit together!
      What size cargo box did you go with there?
      I really appreciate it Skeld! You have a set-up I want to duplicate! I'm glad you created this video!

    How did your mouth your Rigid light bar ? I am interested to do the same set up

    • @SkeldZ06
      @SkeldZ06  4 года назад +1

      Used Ram mount arms. Bolt through the bumper holds a ball mount, and then there is a ball mount that will thread into the light bar.

    Why’d you bungee up your snow flap, bud? Around 6:15 i’m just curious and I figure you must know something I don’t haha
    That chainsaw setup is awesome

    • @SkeldZ06
      @SkeldZ06  3 года назад +1

      Just in case I needed to back up. The snow flap will get sucked under the track or at least push snow behind you.

      @@davidshepard2603 Nice. I don't think of it being that great for hillclimbing, but I don't do that much of that. We're lucky to get about 10 feet of snow here but obviously it melts and settles all the time. Maybe 5 feet on the ground would be max.

    Lynx Brutal 850 is a better snowmobil. PPS suspension and å 60 mm hight of the track. A pity that there is no dealers of Lynx in US and Canada.

    • @evenkristoffersen6501
      @evenkristoffersen6501 3 года назад

      there is now but the lynx brutal dont have the thing in the back of the track when you are reversing that flips up so you dont get stuck. dont know what its called in english

    • @SkeldZ06
      @SkeldZ06  3 года назад +1

      @@evenkristoffersen6501 We just call it an articulated rail. The Brutal looks cool and I bet it climbs a lot better without the articulated rail...but losing the ability to back up would defeat the purpose of going WT for me personally. I would like to see us get the PPS suspension though.
