Korra has the most realistic depiction of PTSD I've seen. She fights it, but can never win. Support, both emotional and physical, from others is enough to help, but it isn't enough to mend, because the troubles run much deeper than anybody other can see. As for the last discussion - Aang was gone for 100 years, yes, but the World went to shit within a year, and he wasn't there. Korra was gone for just three years, yes, but there was basically peace for at least 2, and she literally saw the world going bad, but couldn't help it 'cause of her disability, even though she's supposed to be the one person who should solve things like these.
The more I rewatch this the more I think Korra is what Zuko would be like as an avatar. They're both hotheaded, impulsive and get their ass handed to them a bunch of times, and they both have the biggest character development in their shows. They even had the same haircut scene and an episode dedicated to their stories (Zuko/Korra Alone)
Korra went through alot in 1 year!!! book 1 - 3 was 1 year! she lose her bending, lost her past lives and feel everyone being rip from her and was poison, almost suffocated and cripple! she's human too bro can't expect her to not go through what she going through now. the avatars aren't Gods they're a Semi-God. we all know toph aint match for no avatar prime or not.
This! In the past, most avatars were the obstacles a villain needed to overcome to achieve their goals. But in each of these seasons, the very identity of the avatar, as currently personified by Korra, was the very thing being challenged. Who is the avatar without bending (Season 1)? Should the avatar be the only bridge between humans and spirits (Season 2)? Does the world need an autonomous authority that could lord over all countries (Season 3)? And as we're seeing now, in Season 4, can the world go on without the avatar? As far as we know, never in the history of the Avatar has their very existence been challenged and threatened by multiple threats in such a short timeline. She suffers so much in her short life that she deserves all of the praise and recognition for the achievements she's accomplished.
@@kenkakuknight there is also a lot more politics and outside thinking they needed to do in addition to fighting Season 1 benders vs non benders the citizens doesn't feel equal to one another and amon build his power on that, until the reveal that he is a bender he tried to get something good equality between benders and non benders but the end goal didn't justify the means, and he wasn't wrong all members of the council at the time we're benders there was also tarlock who abused his power Season 2 like you said does the avatar really need to be the only bridge and there was also the war of North and South Season 3 what really order is, also corrupted ruling The struggle is much more complex than it was in aang case
Raphael: Somebody stop me! 🤪 Michael: We've been trying. 🙄 That was a great exchange. However, one thing that did strike me was Michael seeming to scoff at Korra being traumatized. I mean, when was the last time you thought your father had been killed in front of your eyes, then you got knocked out, then chained up, poisoned, started to hallucinate, lost your ability to walk, to dress yourself, take care of yourself... Oh, and up until this shit happened, you had been told your whole life that you were the most powerful person in the world. It's like, yeah, you'd be asking yourself, if I'm so powerful, why am I getting bodied every three fucking days? You see all sorts of crazy shit in people that go through bad things. I'm an Iraq War veteran, probably half the people I knew in the service have some kind of stress disorder (most not strongly enough to warrant medical intervention, but it's there). My grandfather served in the Pacific in WWII. During a battle his platoon was falling back, and to retreat they had to climb/jump a fence. The chain from a religious pendant his mother had given him rode up out of his uniform as he went over the top of the fence, the chain snagged the fence, choked him short, and next thing he knew he was waking up on the ground, and found his own dried blood coating a rock the back of his head hit when he landed. Hours had passed. When he finally got back to US forces he was soon informed that he was the only man from his platoon left alive. He lived, and more than a dozen men he had been with for months were dead. He had to live for the rest of his life asking himself, "Why me? Plenty of these guys deserved to live as much or more than I did, so why me?" War does things to people. And it doesn't matter how hard you think you are. Hell, remember how I said I'm an Iraq War vet? I live about an hour or so south of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I took the bombing of the Boston Marathon back in 2013 personally. A part of me believed that if I was still doing counter-terrorism it wouldn't have happened. I can't tell you how many times I've said to myself, "It's not my fault." Sometimes I even believe it... It's easier these days, but every now and again shit can still hit me hard with no warning. So, yeah, I'm not sure what Michael was trying to get at there (you fellas talk over each other a lot, and Michael is the most soft-spoken of you, some of his words get a little lost in the chatter at times), but, yeah, I suppose it gave me an impetus to talk about some deep shit. Sorry if that's a big downer, but sometimes a man just feels the need to get things off his chest, y'know? Anyway, great vid, fellas, keep 'em coming.
Hey guys, there are new people here every video so here's a brief reminder: PLEASE be careful not to give excessive information. If the show will eventually explain it, then you don’t need to. Even if they ask, give them the basics. Anything further has to be removed. I’m sure everyone wants them to experience this show spoiler free, similarly to when you first watched it too, so please be careful with how much you decide to share. This includes hinting at upcoming events or even telling them which future episodes you dislike. After all, this should be a blind reaction. Please be considerate. Thanks for understanding!
Korra and Toph's personalities are so similar it's so fun to see them interact. They're both so stubborn and headstrong but they still get along really well.
Korra "wanting" to keep the poison in reminds me of Aang running away, childish of course, with a result of that was kind of prophecy laterr, but it led to the 100 year war. With Korra she's been in hiding while Kuvira is rising as a dictator, and all the while still carrying trauma mentally, physically, and spiritually. However, we can infer MANY Avatars went through a similar internal battle of their destiny to bring balance to the world and not wanting to carry that burden. In this case a burden that nearly killed Korra twice already.
With this moment of her struggling to relax to get the last poison out, just recount on Tenzin’s statement from the sn 3 when he said the airbenders would basically be doing their best to do what the avatar is supposed to do, keep balance to the world. Now with that, where would that leave Korra who is already struggling with her own trauma to get back to how she was before? Also did you notice on how Toph detected the remaining poison in her and stating how Su and Lin didn’t pick up metal bending as well as her. Proof that no one has surpassed Toph, yet
8:27 damn kuvira's background theme is kinda cold. It's like a freight train getting closer.....maybe representing the fact that she is a powerful force that has you calm when it's far but every moment it's closing the gap at a high speed. Clever sound choice
Thanks for the reaction as always guys, u know I appreciate it! Man I’ve been missing the korra reactions this past week, glad they’re back! For me nobody can beat zaheers swag but kuvira really gives him a run for his money, she’s dope
It’s important to note how parallel this is to when Aang first started training with Toph. She said the something similar to Aang. Never think when it comes to Toph. Just face the fight head on 😂quite ironic for a bender who uses neutral jing.
people were saying korra still had metal in her and etc thats why toph easily beat her but toph already knew she had metal in her lol this is toph!!🤌🏾"the greatest earth bender in the world" love korra but she’s not seeing toph on any day🤷🏿♂️, maybe with the avatar state but that’s it.

Wow true
Только вот в чем проблема-корра НЕ вспыльчивая и не импульсивная,и в отличие от Зуко,она проиграла всего 2 честных боя.
so true! i can see that.

This is the last time Eska and Dena appear in the show. (IDK about the comics)
I would like to know why Raiko didn't invite Eska, Desna and Tonraq to their discussion in "Beyond the Wilds"
What do you guys think of kulvira as the final season villain?
We gotta rate Raphael's pun game tho HAHA

aang was gone for 100yrs, korra can take 3yrs away to recover...
Man tbh, I don't like Korra that much but I love your guys reactions, Raphs jokes are whole another level.
That speech officially made me side with Kuvira.
why mako doesn't try his luck with korra and asami and lin and suyin and opal and izumi
Have you guys watch inazuma eleven orion
Doesn't Bataar's character design feel "familiar" to you? Just a theory though
why mako and lots of men don't share with korra and asami and lin and suyin and opal and izumi and lots of women
14:03 Gabriele and Mako having the same reactions at the same time 😭
Have you guys watch inazuma eleven orion
