Had never seen a video of yours before but this compilation of clips has instantly made me a fan! So much to be learned from these, I might have to come back and watch again
Writers must put an end to bad writing Or bad writing will put an end to writers. The second interview clip blew my mind. Copied those ideas. 2 things I'd never heard of before: 1. Diacopies 2. Kiasmis - Writing something then saying the same thing backwards. Example: Great thinking is great writing. Writing great is thinking Great. or Great writing is Great thinking Great thinking is Great writing
I personally would have preferred Mark Forsyth coming first. Not for any other reason but for the distance between when we give Amor Towles our attention and the time we understand what he is saying. Just the journey from the filter words at the beginning of the clip to the payoff. I guess you understand.
David, can you suggest a few books that you highly recommend for developing good writing skills. I love writing and would like to practice and polish my writing skills
