    I always pay a lot of attention to all your advice. I won’t ever forget how your suggestion on choosing budget friendly lighting from Home Depot helped me. It was such a helpful tip for my cooking videos and those clamp lights were perfect for me. I still use them though I have recently bought those soft box lights but the latter are so very big and takes up so much space and it’s hard when you are doing everything by yourself starting from prep, filming, cooking, running to the sink to dump dishes and then the aftermath of cleaning a mountain of dishes. Thanks a lot Sir for all your advice. Take care 🙏🏾

    this is SO true. I've had a slow grow, and some of my videos don't get immediate traction, but a week later they start doing better. I think a lot of people want instant gratification or think that getting an instant 300 views or more in a day means success, but it's all about the watch time at the end of the day. I know people who get a lot of clicks but watch time is underperforming. I can attest that even though I am at over 1000 subs, I still don't always get high performance, so I pay attention to those videos I'm getting higher and lower performance right now, and then adapt and learn from those things for future videos. Still learning, always learning. Thanks for being so helpful!

    Always appreciate your encouragement! I notice some art channels growing so fast. The content is enjoyable too. But…….. I get bored doing the same thing artistically over and over. I do many different things on my channel. And I’m good at teaching how to. I’m getting better at making videos and realized that time stamps provide more opportunity for ppl to find information they are looking for. I know I’ll keep getting better at creating, making videos, etc. my channel is slow to grow but a few videos have been helpful to others so I’m going to keep filming my art.

    Anyway back to my comment, lol:
    The most valuable portion of this video for me came after the @6:00 mark - It really only takes one good spark from one of these elements to start a blaze of explosive growth on our channel. I have had this happen before, but failed to react and capitalize on it and have failed many times trying to replicate it.
    Hearing this though reset the excitement and motivational drive to keep going. Thanks brother.

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  2 года назад

      By "stealing" are you meaning copying your content? If so, there isn't a lot you can do. That means you're the visionary and in the end you will break out if your content quality matches your substance. Get better, and remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
      If they are actually taking your video, thumbnail, etc and re-uploading in full or in part, you can issue a copyright takedown to have the content be removed.

    Channels that are doing better isn't a big deal. We all go at different paces. Some upload more , some have more searchable content. I found a tutorial in my niche that was already at 1.1k views (It was only out for 1 week) So I made one but my own style and now it surpassed that persons tutorial. They now have 3.1k views and mine is at 4.5k views within 3 weeks and this channel is pretty new. Did I mention that channel has 110k subs and I am this tiny channel ? I stood out in my tutorial and now I am picked up more and truly enjoying things. These tips are SO on point Nick. My subs is only 350 ish and I started with barely any and was getting views.

I have some Mr Beast in there, Channel Makers, Film Booth, and some more domain specific people. Definitely adding this video to the list. I liked the phrasing you had in the middle of the video, and it grabbed my attention. I'm going to twist it for an upcoming video. Something like "If this is the last math help video you watch, the biggest factors that are going to impact your success are your mindset, your discipline, and your willingness to be wrong and persevere in spite of it. Short cuts just don’t exist for mathematics, but improving your approaches to studying will shorten the time it takes to get to the results you want."

    I really appreciate the advice you give out. It is definitely the best I have found anywhere. With the type of channel I run it is REALLY HARD to place in search because my content doesn't really lend itself well to that. So, I am constantly thinking about what I can do better to be seen. Honestly, what you said about being invisible on RUclips really hit home with me because that is how I usually feel. But, another thing you said also made sense: bigger channels have the advantage of RUclips's algorithm knowing who to suggest the content to. I am constantly in a state of thinking about how I can get more people (the right people) to see a single video and hoping that enough people like it so that RUclips might start suggesting my channel more frequently. I am holding out hope that there is a large pocket of people who would like my content who just haven't seen it yet. It can certainly be frustrating. Hopefully I can have an actual following someday. Though, I am still very new and improving constantly. Anyway, that was a long digression just to come back and say, thank you for the pragmatic advice.

    It's honestly so mind blowin' how a full minute video of mine reached 6K+ views after months but a short instrumental beat's already close to 1K under 2 weeks. Cool how there's time zones that's similar to me who's under or over me but I still go my own zone and don't really make a biggie out of those. Learnin' and improvin' each time. Again, appreciate those informations. And yeah, I think I need to rewatch that video you recommended to see if my channel's at risk of bein' gone forever. 😁

    Hey Nick I think you should also
    Make tips for specific niche .
    For e.g for someone like me who's a booktuber ,cuz things are pretty different for different types of creators .

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  2 года назад +1

      The problem with that is general interest. For example, I published one before this one for people who make tutorials. Focusing in to specific channel/creator types massively limits who the content is suited for. But most importantly, the same rules apply to all of us in terms of needing to make content that’s competitive so most of the videos, not all but most, apply to you as well.

    Your information has been very helpful. I'm stuck on creating content that's similar enough so RUclips knows where to put me. I did a couple videos recently that are related to my area but not as directly related as my previous few. Do you have any recommendations for somebody that's got a category that they're in with a lot of subcategories? My category is complex and there is a lot of room to make videos but I feel like I may be kicking myself if I don't stick more closely on topics until I'm a bit more established.

    I have several channels and I have used tubebuddy on all of them along with a couple of other products, I never noticed a boost....just easier to tag and things like that. Studying your analytics can help a lot. I do not make nearly as much content on this particular channel anymore but part of that was since it got wrongfully terminated for 4 months until more recent. I have other channels though and I am also on another platform with over 700 videos. I study all the info, how long are people watching, where the people are falling off. How many are watching more of a 5 minute video compared to a 20 minute video etc. I started off with super long videos, learnt over time to reduce, reduce and reduce some more.

    Nick, I have nothing but gratitude for you! The information you’ve give had taken my impression counts from single digits to over hundreds of impressions in a matter of hours. Took my retention from just a few to over a few minutes. Has helped my click through. And has gained me an additional 10 subscriber in one video overnight. I know, the numbers are tiny. But it actually surpasses all my initial goals. And I think I’ve squeezed the most out of my initial few videos while giving me a wealth of knowledge to go forward. I did shed a little tear because I reached a little milestone that I didn’t even think I’d get too. And having just a few people believing in my vision propels me so much to keep going. For me I’m just having fun. No expectations right now. Just learning and having fun. Trying things. And believing that one day that magic video will come. Huge THANK YOU! 🙏

    Nick, is it bad to change your title of a video already uploaded to your channel? I think I made a mistake doing this...I kept changing the title a few times on some videos as they weren't moving and I feel like this was a mistake? Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, how long should I give a video before changing the title to give the title a fair chance to thrive?

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  Год назад

      You can change your titles, but have a good reason to do so. If the video is driving minimal views, a better targeted title and thumbnail can work to revive the video in some circumstances.

    Great video! Truth & sense sings a bar of "That's what I like about YOU" I have started my second RUclips Channel in 2021 and I must say ..it is so much easier letting that baby grow at it's own speed with the experience of first channel under the belt! For one thing, NOT focused on that 1K number like I was on round 1! What a relief!! LOL. Love that you mentioned subscribers does not equate to views! You can see that proof all over even on large channels. The only reason I began a second was what I wanted to do was not a part of my first channel which is truly it's own niche! THANK YOU again for always bringing it! 👍😀💀
