    Thank you sooo much for this video, it helped me a lot haha. I recently bought the Bosch Home Professional (WTX87EH0TR) model, which is apparently the most higher end but it has the exact same screen, menus and programs like yours. It's not delivered yet but I was worried about all those don't buy a “self cleaning” machine they get ruined after 1-2 years etc comments (like what happened to your old dryer). But after watching your video, I realized that Self-Clean condenser models and AutoClean models are actually really different compared to eachother. My model also has the AutoClean function like yours, so hopefully it doesn't get broken in like a year or two, and lasts longer haha. Once again thanks for the video, best dryer review i've ever seen so far!! ❤️ Do you know if the service needs to clean it every year or two, did they tell you something like that ? Also, subscribed to your channel so if you have anything to tell or share about this machine in the future, please do it haha. Because I can't find anyone else using it.

      Hi! Thanks for subscribing!! I dont post much but I do try!
      Service, I am actually unsure - I didn't purchase from Bosch directly therefore the machine just turned up and that was that. I haven't had it ask me to run a maintenance program yet, but I do already have some of the chemical cleaner from Bosch that I got for my pervious machine.
      I will post some updates, the next one will be when it asks me to clean the fluff filter and then after that I will do another for the maintenance clean.

      @@everythingandthekitchensink Thank you for the reply!! From what I got your model and my model (basically new higher end models) has a “basic appliance care program” on the settings. And the other models doesn't have that, so they have to call the service for maintenance. So I think we probably won't need the service. Looking up to the fluff video and maintenance video, thanks!!

    I think what likely has happened with your old clothes dryer is that the evaporator/condenser fins will have clogged up with dust and lint, leading to significantly reduced efficiency and airflow. The Self-cleaning feature is supposed to keep the condenser fins free of dirt, but after quite a number of years of use the lint will still build up in other places than the front evaporator coil, like the sump for example. If you do a bit more searching, you'll find videos showing condenser fins caked with lint, the insides of the dryer full of dust, etc. It's really good to see that with the dryer in the video there's an openable hatch door to access the condenser, your previous dryer probably didn't have that which is a bit of a shame. As far as alternative heat pump dryer brands go, I would suggest checking out Beko's range next time.

      Hi, thanks for your feedback! You are right, it isn't possible to see the condenser without cutting in to the plastic fronting at the bottom of the machine. I did use the recommend cleaning solutions from Bosch to clean through the condensers etc but I guess it just did not work that well.
      This new dryer lets you see the condenser but not really clean it manually, but at least I can keep an eye on it over the years and make sure it stays clean.
      Thanks for the links :-)

    • @Loreality
      @Loreality 2 года назад

      I have found that the selfCleaning System sort of requires more maintenance than my old "normal" Siemens condenser dryer (that I upgraded with 2 filters at some point). Previously, I'd regularly clean the main filter and then vacuum both filters once a week. Now, I'm diligent about vacuuming both filters inside and out (there's lint everywhere on the 1st filter), as well as the rubber seal the filters sit on. When doing small loads like shirts, I'll sometimes fill the tank full, so that the cleaning cycle has water to work with. So far, when I stick my phone down the air path and take a video (the only way to "see" in between the fins) it's all clean after 1.5 years.
      Animal hair can sometimes also lead to issues over time (clogging), I've heard.

    • @kapside
      @kapside 2 года назад

      Totally agree. I had mine for 7 years and for the last months the drying process took longer and the clothes were humid. I saw a video in RUclips and disambled the dryer until reaching the condenser which had a wall of fluff. Vacuumed it and cleaned the condenser with a toothbrush, put everything back, and now it is working like new!!!!. I strongly recommend taking pictures of every step of the process so you are sure that everything is again like it was originally. I am very proud of having done this. And thanks for doing videos that help people.

    Hi, this is sooo helpful. Can you tell me what ur previous model was pls? I’m getting ready to buy a new one so just want to b sure about what I’m getting. I’ve had a Bosch tumble condenser dryer for 25 yrs and it’s never given me an ounce of problems. I’m a bit put off the series 8 cos I’d rather just empty the fluff than have to get down to empty where the condenser used to be. Im 69 so it's not so easy to get up once im on the floor anymore😂. anyhow thanks again for this very helpful and insightful video.

      It looks like all condenser dryers have a single spin direction. The heat pump can only draw air one way, or you will get moist air pulled into it the wrong way. To make it go the opposite way they would need to add another motor. That would be quite costly, so they forgo it all together.

Fact it’s taking a long time to drain, could be that the filter at the bottom is not close properly and is escaping ? If you go online, you can get the instruction manual from Bosch.

    I absolutely hate my serie 8. There is always some complicated thing to do to it. Even changing the fluff filter needs a bucket, a trek to the sink which is large enough to contain the mess. Scooping out wet fluff by hand, pouring off the excess water, dragging bits of wet fluff out the sink so it doesn’t block the sink. Emptying and refilling the water container constantly, I don’t know why? Managing not to loose the tiny drain plug that falls out constantly and three filters that need complicated programs. Buying the stupid fluid is annoying and a cleaning programme that last FOUR hours just when you urgently need something drying. The warning lights only flash at the start/end which I never notice until I realise I’ve put the same load on seven times and it’s still wet. I hate it. Worst dryer I’ve ever owned.

      @@everythingandthekitchensink Oh, RUclips probably filtered my comment and you can't see it then, because it shows up on mine. I'm not talking about the button thing. Do you have an Instagram or something or an email so I can send you from there so you can see ? I don't know why RUclips blocks it, probably because it was a long comment.

      @@My.MusicChannel hi, sorry I don’t only on here. If it’s about the service program I responded to that too? I haven’t had to run the service program yet and have not read anywhere about needing up call out an engineer to service it every few years?

      @@everythingandthekitchensink No, my device stops tumbling during the last SelfCleaning towards the end of the program and makes really weird noises, and it doesn't stop tumbling again until for like 4-5 minutes. I knew this happens because of SelfCleaning, but in RUclips videos I saw it was starting to tumble again just seconds after. My comment included a video I took for you, so you could check it, maybe that's why it was blocked since it had a RUclips link ? I don't know. I really want to be able to show you & ask about that because it's rare to find someone who's using this machine and you're my only solution right now lol.
