Im a high school rower and watching this is funny compared to all our times 😂 We can all see this guy has worked hard for this with hours of painful suffering. Thats rowing
Some would say his technique might be considered more than decent considering he set a world record? Though hopefully internet pros like you can give him advice
It is amazing that someone so muscular can maintain that much power output and such a high stroke rating for so long. Typically someone with that much muscle would become momentarily incapacitated from the extreme amount of lactic acid coursing through their body. Keeping splits under 120 for 3 250 splits is so impressive. I think he could beat his own record if he wanted to.
him and eddie have a massive cardio base, plus they are both just genetic freaks of nature. both used to swim i think aswell and then james took to rugby and eddie to strongman. truly great all rounders
Mate, I remember pulling out a 3:15 years ago and being the most gassed I've ever been. Seeing your soul leave your body really took me back. Onya big rig!
Yeah recently I showed my sister how to row a 2k with proper technique at the gym, and then I tried a 1k and got around a 3:15 -- 3:16. I was gassed and realized I forgot my water bottle so I had to slowly get up and find a water fountain Rowing is the most tiring thing I've ever done, more so than track sprinting I have to say.
I came back here to watch this again just to realize that anything is possible with discipline and hard work! An absolute mind boggling effort!! 💪🏻🚣🏻♀️👊🏻💯
Love the last 250 - that looked hard, as it should. You had it in the first 750 like you wanted but still had to make sure in the final 250 and you did.
Do you ever bolt them machines down? I’ve been getting back in shape after finding out that I used to row at record setting paces. I’m not as small as I used to be. When I start getting near a 1:20/500m pace the machines start walking and jumping all over the place.
NGL i dont feel as bad now after doing 650 in 2min and nearly dying, considering i have only consistently trained for about 1.5 months and didnt do any rowing in years. Fucking impressive!
hey bro, i like to accelarate the rower with 3 fast rows at the start and only after that starting im starting to pull at steady pace. What do you thnik about this techinque, have you ever tried it and if yes why not use it? Does it burn you out too much in the start or is it only preference.
Anyone else amazed at how his forehead and lips turn completely purple at his last split and as he recovers color comes back. Now that is some physiological change!
I just wonder if James would have gotten even better results if he had set up a pace boat with a 1m19.6s 500M pace, started a little bit faster with barely a lead, but only picking up the pace at the very end. For mere mortals, at least you could tell how realistic your efforts are.
A world record is a world record. In addition, James is being modest but he pulls under 6 minutes for the 2000m on both the rower and the SkiErg. That's a great time for anybody and it's nuts considering his musculature, particularly on the rower. I would have thought it impossible for his body to shed the heat fast enough to pull that time.
For those who don't do erg, this is extremely impressive, the amount of sheer power and cardio combined is bonkers!
Then he does a sub 6 2k!!! I’m dying on the final 500, and he averages my 500m!

Thanks bro. Good luck
Just curious, what are your times? I'm a year nine and most of my squad's 1k time is around 4 mins
@@mitchellheffernan3024I’m 16 and my 1k is 3:04
Neek
Congrats James !! You are a “Beast” too !! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Cheers from Athens Greece 🇬🇷
I can't pull 1:20 once ROFL. This guy does it for 1000m.... Even started at 1:16! Insane power.
Outstanding. Your technique was decent, as well, all things considered. Having that power and endurance for 1k is impressive.

The blood of the Hall family is a strong one indeed. Awesome stuff, James!
Well done mate 💪 Thats way, way harder than most people would believe.

Now Eddie has lost the beard it’s time for the big brother to step in
i do 8 times 100 m with split 1:44 and 30 s rest between and i am dying , you did 1:16, 1:20 for the whole 1000m...this is really mad. Congrats!!!!!
Who asked
Exceptional performance... jolly good show.
This should have way more views, what an achievement
Insane performance, absolutely brutal

Congratulations fella! Unbelievable achievement!! Beast! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Fantastic performance💪
What is your personal best in the 500m on the erg rower? And what are your best lifts in the bench press, squat and deadlift?
Fantastic effort big man, what a powerhouse!

thats siiiick. unbelivable. GJ !
Congrats!! True Grit - Very Inspiring!
Fark me, this is monster row! How were you not in the fetal position afterwards?! Beast
You’re a machine James👊👊👊 New Sub😤
I’m coming for your record James Hall
This is what 93% of a horse power for 2+ minutes look like. Massive effort!

Place a heavy dumbbell behind the front part (on the floor)

Jeez! Have to build a hell of a boat to put up with that “catch, drive, finish” let alone his weight!!!
Steve Redgrave was heavier than James when he was winning everything
Anyone else amazed at how his forehead and lips turn completely purple at his last split and as he recovers color comes back. Now that is some physiological change!
I though i was seeing things! 😂
man goes like an entire second faster than my 100m during his 1000m lmao
wow mines a 4:04 thats insane im 13 btw
I’d be ecstatic with his last segments split time as my 500. Outstanding endurance on a long sprint. This was power!
definitely one of my goals to get under 3min
Full respect
What was harder? the ski or row world records?
Bloody Awesome !!

oh look... a mini eddie hall :D
Wow!
This guy remind anybody else of Eddie Hall?
yeah his brother

Wonder if your bro could beat you ?
He couldn’t
Same last name & voice as Eddie Hall 😂
Your friends should have been shouting louder!
What setting is your resistance on ?
In the video, towards the end, you can see it's set on 8.
I’m gonna beat this
definitely take a couple seconds off if you paced it better
That's your opinion. Not mine. Thanks for watching
1K? Try a 2K or better. Try the World Indoor instead of your basement.
Why so negative
Wha?
2k isn’t any better than 1k, you just go slower over 2k, you are just jealous
